Had lots of fun reading this book! However, I don't think doublethink really exist in our reality, though lots of ppl say they could find real life examples like act your age/your age is whatever you think it is. Well those two things are not really in contradition if you look at them in different scenarios. Both sentences are ture and applicable in their own limited realm. Our world is too complexed to be looked at in just one way.
