 What counsel has the hooded¹ moon

    Put in thy heart, my shyly sweet,

Of Love in ancient plenilune,

    Glory and stars beneath his feet—

A sage² that is but kith and kin³

With the comedian⁴ Capuchin?

 

Believe me rather that am wise

    In disregard of the divine,

A glory kindles⁵ in those eyes

1 hooded
