[kjv] And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab's children, saying,
[bbe] Now there were in Samaria seventy of Ahab's sons. And Jehu sent letters to Samaria, to the rulers of the town, and to the responsible men, and to those who had the care of the sons of Ahab, saying,
10:2 [hgb] 你 们 那 里 既 有 你 们 主 人 的 众 子 和 车 马 ， 器 械 ， 坚 固 城 ，
[kjv] Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour1;
[bbe] Straight away, when you get this letter, seeing that your master's sons are with you, and that you have carriages and horses and a walled town and arms;
10:3 [hgb] 接 了 这 信 ， 就 可 以 在 你 们 主 人 的 众 子 中 选 择 一 个 贤 能 合 宜 的 ， 使 他 坐 他 父 亲 的 位 ， 你 们 也 可 以 为 你 们 主 人 的 家 争 战 。
[kjv] Look even out the best and meetest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.
[bbe] Take the best and most upright of your master's sons, and make him king in his father's place, and put up a fight for your master's family.
10:4 [hgb] 他 们 却 甚 惧 怕 ， 彼 此 说 ， 二 王 在 他 面 前 尚 且 站 立 不 住 ， 我 们 怎 能 站 得 住 呢 ？
[kjv] But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold2, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?
[bbe] But they were full of fear, and said, The two kings have gone down before him: how may we keep our place?
10:5 [hgb] 家 宰 ， 邑 宰 ， 和 长 老 ， 并 教 养 众 子 的 人 ， 打 发 人 去 见 耶 户 ， 说 ， 我 们 是 你 的 仆 人 ， 凡 你 所 吩 咐 我 们 的 都 必 遵 行 ， 我 们 不 立 谁 作 王 ， 你 看 怎 样 好 就 怎 样 行 。
[kjv] And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.
[bbe] So the controller of the king's house, with the ruler of the town, and the responsible men, and those who had the care of Ahab's sons, sent to Jehu, saying, We are your servants and will do all your orders; we will not make any man king; do whatever seems best to you.
10:6 [hgb] 耶 户 又 给 他 们 写 信 说 ， 你 们 若 归 顺 我 ， 听 从 我 的 话 ， 明 日 这 时 候 ， 要 将 你 们 主 人 众 子 的 首 级 带 到 耶 斯 列 来 见 我 。 那 时 王 的 儿 子 七 十 人 都 住 在 教 养 他 们 那 城 中 的 尊 贵 人 家 里 。
[kjv] Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.
[bbe] Then he sent them a second letter, saying, If you are on my side, and if you will do my orders, come to me at Jezreel by this time tomorrow, with the heads of your master's sons. Now the king's seventy sons were with the great men of the town, who had the care of them.
10:7 [hgb] 信 一 到 ， 他 们 就 把 王 的 七 十 个 儿 子 杀 了 ， 将 首 级 装 在 筐 里 ， 送 到 耶 斯 列 耶 户 那 里 。
[kjv] And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew3 seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.
[bbe] And when the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and put them to death, all the seventy, and put their heads in baskets and sent them to him at Jezreel.
10:8 [hgb] 有 使 者 来 告 诉 耶 户 说 ， 他 们 将 王 众 子 的 首 级 送 来 了 。 耶 户 说 ， 将 首 级 在 城 门 口 堆 作 两 堆 ， 搁 到 明 日 。
[kjv] And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.
[bbe] And a man came and said to him, They have come with the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Put them down in two masses at the doorway4 of the town till the morning.
10:9 [hgb] 次 日 早 晨 ， 耶 户 出 来 ， 站 着 对 众 民 说 ， 你 们 都 是 公 义 的 ， 我 背 叛 我 主 人 ， 将 他 杀 了 。 这 些 人 却 是 谁 杀 的 呢 ？
[kjv] And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired5 against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?
[bbe] And in the morning he went out and, stopping, said to all the people there, You are upright men: it is true that I made designs against my master, and put him to death; but who is responsible for the death of all these?
10:10 [hgb] 由 此 可 知 ， 耶 和 华 指 着 亚 哈 家 所 说 的 话 一 句 没 有 落 空 ， 因 为 耶 和 华 借 他 仆 人 以 利 亚 所 说 的 话 都 成 就 了 。
[kjv] Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.
[bbe] You may be certain that nothing which the Lord has said about the family of Ahab will be without effect; for the Lord has done what he said by his servant Elijah.
10:11 [hgb] 凡 亚 哈 家 在 耶 斯 列 所 剩 下 的 人 和 他 的 大 臣 ， 密 友 ， 祭 司 ， 耶 户 尽 都 杀 了 ， 没 有 留 下 一 个 。
[kjv] So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
[bbe] So Jehu put to death all the rest of the seed of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his relations and his near friends and his priests, till there were no more of them.

[kjv] And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing6 house in the way,

10:13 [hgb] 遇 见 犹 大 王 亚 哈 谢 的 弟 兄 ， 问 他 们 说 ， 你 们 是 谁 。 回 答 说 ， 我 们 是 亚 哈 谢 的 弟 兄 ， 现 在 下 去 要 问 王 和 太 后 的 众 子 安 。
[kjv] Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute7 the children of the king and the children of the queen.
[bbe] When he came across the brothers of Ahaziah, king of Judah, and said, Who are you? And they said, We are the brothers of Ahaziah, king of Judah; we are going down to see the children of the king and of the queen.
10:14 [hgb] 耶 户 吩 咐 说 ， 活 捉 他 们 。 跟 从 的 人 就 活 捉 了 他 们 ， 将 他 们 杀 在 剪 羊 毛 之 处 的 坑 边 ， 共 四 十 二 人 ， 没 有 留 下 一 个 。
[kjv] And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.
[bbe] And he said, Take them living. So they took them living, and put them to death in the water-hole of Beth-eked; of the forty-two men he put every one to death;
10:15 [hgb] 耶 户 从 那 里 前 行 ， 恰 遇 利 甲 的 儿 子 约 拿 达 来 迎 接 他 ， 耶 户 问 他 安 ， 对 他 说 ， 你 诚 心 待 我 像 我 诚 心 待 你 吗 ？ 约 拿 达 回 答 说 ， 是 。 耶 户 说 ， 若 是 这 样 ， 你 向 我 伸 手 ， 他 就 伸 手 。 耶 户 拉 他 上 车 。
[kjv] And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted8 him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
[bbe] And when he had gone away from there, he came across Jehonadab, the son of Rechab: and he said good-day to him, and said to him, Is your heart true to mine, as mine is to yours? And Jehonadab in answer said, It is; and Jehu said, If it is, give me your hand. And he gave him his hand, and he made him come up into his carriage.
10:16 [hgb] 耶 户 说 ， 你 和 我 同 去 ， 看 我 为 耶 和 华 怎 样 热 心 。 于 是 请 他 坐 在 车 上 ，
[kjv] And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal9 for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.
[bbe] And he said, Come with me and see how I am on fire for the Lord's cause. So he made him go with him in his carriage.
10:17 [hgb] 到 了 撒 玛 利 亚 ， 就 把 撒 玛 利 亚 亚 哈 家 剩 下 的 人 都 杀 了 ， 直 到 灭 尽 ， 正 如 耶 和 华 对 以 利 亚 所 说 的 。
[kjv] And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.
[bbe] And when he came to Samaria, he put to death all those of Ahab's family who were still in Samaria, till there were no more of them, as the Lord had said to Elijah.
10:18 [hgb] 耶 户 招 聚 众 民 ， 对 他 们 说 ， 亚 哈 事 奉 巴 力 还 冷 淡 ， 耶 户 却 更 热 心 。
[kjv] And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.
[bbe] Then Jehu got all the people together and said to them, Ahab was Baal's servant in a small way, but Jehu will be his servant on a great scale.
10:19 [hgb] 现 在 我 要 给 巴 力 献 大 祭 。 应 当 叫 巴 力 的 众 先 知 和 一 切 拜 巴 力 的 人 ， 并 巴 力 的 众 祭 司 ， 都 到 我 这 里 来 ， 不 可 缺 少 一 个 。 凡 不 来 的 必 不 得 活 。 耶 户 这 样 行 ， 是 用 诡 计 要 杀 尽 拜 巴 力 的 人 。
[kjv] Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
[bbe] Now send for all the prophets of Baal and all his servants and all his priests, to come to me; let no one keep away: for I have a great offering to make to Baal; anyone who is not present, will be put to death. This Jehu did with deceit, his purpose being the destruction of the servants of Baal.
10:20 [hgb] 耶 户 说 ， 要 为 巴 力 宣 告 严 肃 会 。 于 是 宣 告 了 。
[kjv] And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.
[bbe] And Jehu said, Let there be a special holy meeting for the worship of Baal. So a public statement was made.
10:21 [hgb] 耶 户 差 人 走 遍 以 色 列 地 。 凡 拜 巴 力 的 人 都 来 齐 了 ， 没 有 一 个 不 来 的 。 他 们 进 了 巴 力 庙 ， 巴 力 庙 中 从 前 边 直 到 后 边 都 满 了 人 。
[kjv] And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.
[bbe] And Jehu sent out through all Israel; and all the servants of Baal came, not one kept away. And they came into the house of Baal, so that it was full from end to end.
10:22 [hgb] 耶 户 吩 咐 掌 管 礼 服 的 人 说 ， 拿 出 礼 服 来 ， 给 一 切 拜 巴 力 的 人 穿 。 他 就 拿 出 礼 服 来 给 了 他 们 。
[kjv] And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth10 vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.
[bbe] And Jehu said to him who kept the robes, Get out robes for all the servants of Baal. So he got out robes for them.
10:23 [hgb] 耶 户 和 利 甲 的 儿 子 约 拿 达 进 了 巴 力 庙 ， 对 拜 巴 力 的 人 说 ， 你 们 察 看 察 看 ， 在 你 们 这 里 不 可 有 耶 和 华 的 仆 人 ， 只 可 容 留 拜 巴 力 的 人 。
[kjv] And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.
[bbe] And Jehu, with Jehonadab, the son of Rechab, went into the house of Baal; and he said to the servants of Baal, Make a search with care, to see that no servant of the Lord is with you, but only servants of Baal.
10:24 [hgb] 耶 户 和 约 拿 达 进 去 ， 献 平 安 祭 和 燔 祭 。 耶 户 先 安 排 八 十 人 在 庙 外 ， 吩 咐 说 ， 我 将 这 些 人 交 在 你 们 手 中 ， 若 有 一 人 脱 逃 ， 谁 放 的 必 叫 他 偿 命 。
[kjv] And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.
[bbe] Then they went in to make offerings and burned offerings. Now Jehu had put eighty men outside, and said to them, If any man whom I give into your hands gets away, the life of him who lets him go will be the price of his life.
10:25 [hgb] 耶 户 献 完 了 燔 祭 ， 就 出 来 吩 咐 护 卫 兵 和 众 军 长 说 ， 你 们 进 去 杀 他 们 ， 不 容 一 人 出 来 。 护 卫 兵 和 军 长 就 用 刀 杀 他 们 ， 将 尸 首 抛 出 去 ， 便 到 巴 力 庙 的 城 去 了 ，
[kjv] And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay11 them; let none come forth. And they smote12 them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.
[bbe] Then when the burned offering was ended, straight away Jehu said to the armed men and the captains, Go in and put them to death; let not one come out. So they put them to the sword; and, pulling the images to the earth, they went into the holy place of the house of Baal.
10:26 [hgb] 将 巴 力 庙 中 的 柱 像 都 拿 出 来 烧 了 。
[kjv] And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.
[bbe] And they took out the image of Asherah from the house of Baal, and had it burned.
10:27 [hgb] 毁 坏 了 巴 力 柱 像 ， 拆 毁 了 巴 力 庙 作 为 厕 所 ， 直 到 今 日 。
[kjv] And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught13 house unto this day.
[bbe] The altar of Baal was pulled down and the house of Baal was broken up and made an unclean place, as it is to this day.
10:28 [hgb] 这 样 ， 耶 户 在 以 色 列 中 灭 了 巴 力 。
[kjv] Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.
[bbe] So Jehu put an end to the worship of Baal in Israel.
10:29 [hgb] 只 是 耶 户 不 离 开 尼 八 的 儿 子 耶 罗 波 安 使 以 色 列 人 陷 在 罪 里 的 那 罪 ， 就 是 拜 伯 特 利 和 但 的 金 牛 犊 。
[kjv] Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves14 that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.
[bbe] But Jehu did not keep himself from all the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and the evil he made Israel do; the gold oxen were still in Beth-el and in Dan.
10:30 [hgb] 耶 和 华 对 耶 户 说 ， 因 你 办 好 我 眼 中 看 为 正 的 事 ， 照 我 的 心 意 待 亚 哈 家 ， 你 的 子 孙 必 接 续 你 坐 以 色 列 的 国 位 ， 直 到 四 代 。
[kjv] And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
[bbe] And the Lord said to Jehu, Because you have done well in doing what is right in my eyes and effecting all my purpose for the family of Ahab, your sons will be kings of Israel to the fourth generation.
10:31 [hgb] 只 是 耶 户 不 尽 心 遵 守 耶 和 华 以 色 列 神 的 律 法 ， 不 离 开 耶 罗 波 安 使 以 色 列 人 陷 在 罪 里 的 那 罪 。
[kjv] But Jehu took no heed15 to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.
[bbe] But Jehu did not take care to keep the law of the Lord with all his heart: he did not keep himself from the sin which Jeroboam did and made Israel do.
10:32 [hgb] 在 那 些 日 子 ， 耶 和 华 才 割 裂 以 色 列 国 ， 使 哈 薛 攻 击 以 色 列 的 境 界 ，
[kjv] In those days the LORD began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;
[bbe] In those days the Lord was angry first with Israel; and Hazael made attacks on all the land of Israel,
10:33 [hgb] 乃 是 约 旦 河 东 ， 基 列 全 地 ， 从 靠 近 亚 嫩 谷 边 的 亚 罗 珥 起 ， 就 是 基 列 和 巴 珊 的 迦 得 人 ， 流 便 人 ， 玛 拿 西 人 之 地 。
[kjv] From Jordan eastward16, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.
[bbe] East of Jordan, in all the land of Gilead, the Gadites and the Reubenites and the Manassites, from Aroer by the valley of the Arnon, all Gilead and Bashan.
10:34 [hgb] 耶 户 其 余 的 事 ， 凡 他 所 行 的 和 他 的 勇 力 都 写 在 以 色 列 诸 王 记 上 。
[kjv] Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
[bbe] Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all he did, and his great power, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Israel?
10:35 [hgb] 耶 户 与 他 列 祖 同 睡 ， 葬 在 撒 玛 利 亚 。 他 儿 子 约 哈 斯 接 续 他 作 王 。
[kjv] And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned17 in his stead.
[bbe] And Jehu went to rest with his fathers, and was put into the earth in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son became king in his place.
10:36 [hgb] 耶 户 在 撒 玛 利 亚 作 以 色 列 王 二 十 八 年 。
[kjv] And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.
[bbe] And the time of Jehu's rule over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.
