[kjv] Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.
[bbe] Now while Ezra was making his prayer and his statement of wrongdoing, weeping and falling down before the house of God, a very great number of men and women and children out of Israel came together round him: for the people were weeping bitterly.
10:2 [hgb] 属 以 拦 的 子 孙 ， 耶 歇 的 儿 子 示 迦 尼 对 以 斯 拉 说 ， 我 们 在 此 地 娶 了 外 邦 女 子 为 妻 ， 干 犯 了 我 们 的 神 ， 然 而 以 色 列 人 还 有 指 望 。
[kjv] And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed2 against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
[bbe] And Shecaniah, the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answering, said to Ezra, We have done evil against our God, and have taken as our wives strange women of the peoples of the land: but still there is hope for Israel in this question.
10:3 [hgb] 现 在 当 与 我 们 的 神 立 约 ， 休 这 一 切 的 妻 ， 离 绝 她 们 所 生 的 ， 照 着 我 主 和 那 因 神 命 令 战 兢 之 人 所 议 定 的 ， 按 律 法 而 行 。
[kjv] Now therefore let us make a covenant3 with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
[bbe] Let us now make an agreement with our God to put away all the wives and all their children, if it seems right to my lord and to those who go in fear of the words of our God; and let it be done in keeping with the law.
10:4 [hgb] 你 起 来 ， 这 是 你 当 办 的 事 ， 我 们 必 帮 助 你 ， 你 当 奋 勉 而 行 。
[kjv] Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.
[bbe] Up, now! for this is your business, and we are with you; take heart and do it.
10:5 [hgb] 以 斯 拉 便 起 来 ， 使 祭 司 长 和 利 未 人 ， 并 以 色 列 众 人 起 誓 说 ， 必 照 这 话 去 行 。 他 们 就 起 了 誓 。
[kjv] Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.
[bbe] Then Ezra got up, and made the chiefs of the priests and the Levites and all Israel take an oath that they would do this. So they took an oath.
10:6 [hgb] 以 斯 拉 从 神 殿 前 起 来 ， 进 入 以 利 亚 实 的 儿 子 约 哈 难 的 屋 里 ， 到 了 那 里 不 吃 饭 ， 也 不 喝 水 。 因 为 被 掳 归 回 之 人 所 犯 的 罪 ， 心 里 悲 伤 。
[kjv] Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber4 of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither5, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression6 of them that had been carried away.
[bbe] Then Ezra got up from before the house of God and went into the room of Jehohanan, the son of Eliashib; but when he came there, he took no food or drink, for he was sorrowing for the sin of those who had come back.
10:7 [hgb] 他 们 通 告 犹 大 和 耶 路 撒 冷 被 掳 归 回 的 人 ， 叫 他 们 在 耶 路 撒 冷 聚 集 。
[kjv] And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity7, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;
[bbe] And they made a public statement through all Judah and Jerusalem, to all those who had come back, that they were to come together to Jerusalem;
10:8 [hgb] 凡 不 遵 首 领 和 长 老 所 议 定 ， 三 日 之 内 不 来 的 ， 就 必 抄 他 的 家 ， 使 他 离 开 被 掳 归 回 之 人 的 会 。
[kjv] And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited8, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.
[bbe] And that if anyone did not come before three days were past, as ordered by the rulers and the responsible men, all his goods would be put under the curse, and he himself would be cut off from the meeting of the people who had come back.
10:9 [hgb] 于 是 ， 犹 大 和 便 雅 悯 众 人 ， 三 日 之 内 都 聚 集 在 耶 路 撒 冷 。 那 日 正 是 九 月 二 十 日 ， 众 人 都 坐 在 神 殿 前 的 宽 阔 处 。 因 这 事 ， 又 因 下 大 雨 ， 就 都 战 兢 。
[kjv] Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
[bbe] Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin came together to Jerusalem before three days were past; it was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people were seated in the wide square in front of the house of God, shaking with fear because of this business and because of the great rain.
10:10 [hgb] 祭 司 以 斯 拉 站 起 来 ， 对 他 们 说 ， 你 们 有 罪 了 。 因 你 们 娶 了 外 邦 的 女 子 为 妻 ， 增 添 以 色 列 人 的 罪 恶 。 。
[kjv] And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed9, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass1 of Israel.
[bbe] And Ezra the priest got to his feet and said to them, You have done wrong and taken strange women for your wives, so increasing the sin of Israel.
10:11 [hgb] 现 在 当 向 耶 和 华 你 们 列 祖 的 神 认 罪 ， 遵 行 他 的 旨 意 ， 离 绝 这 些 国 的 民 和 外 邦 的 女 子 。
[kjv] Now therefore make confession10 unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
[bbe] So now, give praise to the Lord, the God of your fathers, and do his pleasure; and make yourselves separate from the peoples of the land and from the strange women.
10:12 [hgb] 会 众 都 大 声 回 答 说 ， 我 们 必 照 着 你 的 话 行 ，
[kjv] Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.
[bbe] Then all the people, answering, said with a loud voice, As you have said, so it is right for us to do.
10:13 [hgb] 只 是 百 姓 众 多 ， 又 逢 大 雨 的 时 令 ， 我 们 不 能 站 在 外 头 ， 这 也 不 是 一 两 天 办 完 的 事 ， 因 我 们 在 这 事 上 犯 了 大 罪 。
[kjv] But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
[bbe] But the number of people is great, and it is a time of much rain; it is not possible for us to go on waiting outside, and this is not a thing which may be done in one day or even two: for our sin in this business is great.
10:14 [hgb] 不 如 为 全 会 众 派 首 领 办 理 。 凡 我 们 城 邑 中 娶 外 邦 女 子 为 妻 的 ， 当 按 所 定 的 日 期 ， 同 着 本 城 的 长 老 和 士 师 而 来 ， 直 到 办 完 这 事 ， 神 的 烈 怒 就 转 离 我 们 了 。
[kjv] Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath11 of our God for this matter be turned from us.
[bbe] So now let our rulers be representatives for all the people, and let all those in our towns who are married to strange women come at fixed12 times, and with them the responsible men and the judges of every town, till the burning wrath of our God is turned away from us, and this has been done.
10:15 [hgb] 惟 有 亚 撒 黑 的 儿 子 约 拿 单 ， 特 瓦 的 儿 子 雅 哈 谢 阻 挡 （ 或 作 总 办 ） 这 事 ， 并 有 米 书 兰 和 利 未 人 沙 比 太 帮 助 他 们 。
[kjv] Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
[bbe] Only Jonathan, the son of Asahel, and Jahzeiah, the son of Tikvah, were against this, Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite supporting them.
10:16 [hgb] 被 掳 归 回 的 人 如 此 而 行 。 祭 司 以 斯 拉 和 些 族 长 按 着 宗 族 都 指 名 见 派 ， 在 十 月 初 一 日 ， 一 同 在 座 查 办 这 事 ，
[kjv] And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
[bbe] So those who had come back did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain heads of families, by their fathers' families, all of them by their names, were marked out; and on the first day of the tenth month they took their places to go into the question with care.
10:17 [hgb] 到 正 月 初 一 日 ， 才 查 清 娶 外 邦 女 子 的 人 数 。
[kjv] And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
[bbe] And they got to the end of all the men who were married to strange women by the first day of the first month.
10:18 [hgb] 在 祭 司 中 查 出 娶 外 邦 女 子 为 妻 的 ， 就 是 耶 书 亚 的 子 孙 约 萨 达 的 儿 子 ， 和 他 弟 兄 玛 西 雅 ， 以 利 以 谢 ， 雅 立 ， 基 大 利 。
[kjv] And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
[bbe] And among the sons of the priests who were married to strange women were these: of the sons of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak and his brothers, Maaseiah and Eliezer and Jarib and Gedaliah.
10:19 [hgb] 他 们 便 应 许 必 休 他 们 的 妻 。 他 们 因 有 罪 ， 就 献 群 中 的 一 只 公 绵 羊 赎 罪 。
[kjv] And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram13 of the flock for their trespass.
