22:1 [hgb]  提 幔 人 以 利 法 回 答 说 ,
    [kjv]  Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
    [bbe]  Then Eliphaz the Temanite made answer and said,
22:2 [hgb]  人 岂 能 使 神 有 益 呢 ? 智 慧 人 但 能 有 益 于 己 。
    [kjv]  Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
    [bbe]  Is it possible for a man to be of profit to God? No, for a man's wisdom is only of profit to himself.
22:3 [hgb]  你 为 人 公 义 , 岂 叫 全 能 者 喜 悦 呢 ? 你 行 为 完 全 , 岂 能 使 他 得 利 呢 ?
    [kjv]  Is it any pleasure to the Almighty1, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
    [bbe]  Is it of any interest to the Ruler of all that you are upright? or is it of use to him that your ways are without sin?
22:4 [hgb]  岂 是 因 你 敬 畏 他 , 就 责 备 你 , 审 判 你 吗 ?
    [kjv]  Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment3?
    [bbe]  Is it because you give him honour that he is sending punishment on you and is judging you?
22:5 [hgb]  你 的 罪 恶 岂 不 是 大 吗 ? 你 的 罪 孽 也 没 有 穷 尽 。
    [kjv]  Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities4 infinite?
    [bbe]  Is not your evil-doing great? and there is no end to your sins.
22:6 [hgb]  因 你 无 故 强 取 弟 兄 的 物 为 当 头 , 剥 去 贫 寒 人 的 衣 服 。
    [kjv]  For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought5, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
    [bbe]  For you have taken your brother's goods when he was not in your debt, and have taken away the clothing of those who have need of it.
22:7 [hgb]  困 乏 的 人 , 你 没 有 给 他 水 喝 。 饥 饿 的 人 , 你 没 有 给 他 食 物 。
    [kjv]  Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
    [bbe]  You do not give water to the tired traveller, and from him who has no food you keep back bread.
22:8 [hgb]  有 能 力 的 人 就 得 地 土 。 尊 贵 的 人 也 住 在 其 中 。
    [kjv]  But as for the mighty2 man, he had the earth; and the honourable6 man dwelt in it.
    [bbe]  For it was the man with power who had the land, and the man with an honoured name who was living in it.
22:9 [hgb]  你 打 发 寡 妇 空 手 回 去 , 折 断 孤 儿 的 膀 臂 。
    [kjv]  Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
    [bbe]  You have sent widows away without hearing their cause, and you have taken away the support of the child who has no father.
22:10 [hgb]  因 此 , 有 网 罗 环 绕 你 , 有 恐 惧 忽 然 使 你 惊 惶 。
    [kjv]  Therefore snares7 are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
    [bbe]  For this cause nets are round your feet, and you are overcome with sudden fear.
22:11 [hgb]  或 有 黑 暗 蒙 蔽 你 , 并 有 洪 水 淹 没 你 。
    [kjv]  Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
    [bbe]  Your light is made dark so that you are unable to see, and you are covered by a mass of waters.
22:12 [hgb]  神 岂 不 是 在 高 天 吗 ? 你 看 星 宿 何 其 高 呢 ?
    [kjv]  Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold8 the height of the stars, how high they are!
    [bbe]  Is not God as high as heaven? and see the stars, how high they are!
22:13 [hgb]  你 说 , 神 知 道 什 么 ? 他 岂 能 看 透 幽 暗 施 行 审 判 呢 ?
    [kjv]  And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
    [bbe]  And you say, What knowledge has God? is he able to give decisions through the deep dark?
22:14 [hgb]  密 云 将 他 遮 盖 , 使 他 不 能 看 见 。 他 周 游 穹 苍 。
    [kjv]  Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
    [bbe]  Thick clouds are covering him, so that he is unable to see; and he is walking on the arch of heaven.
22:15 [hgb]  你 要 依 从 上 古 的 道 吗 ? 这 道 是 恶 人 所 行 的 。
    [kjv]  Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
    [bbe]  Will you keep the old way by which evil men went?
22:16 [hgb]  他 们 未 到 死 期 , 忽 然 除 灭 。 根 基 毁 坏 , 好 像 被 江 河 冲 去 。
    [kjv]  Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown9 with a flood:
    [bbe]  Who were violently taken away before their time, who were overcome by the rush of waters:
22:17 [hgb]  他 们 向 神 说 , 离 开 我 们 吧 。 又 说 , 全 能 者 能 把 我 们 怎 么 样 呢 ?
    [kjv]  Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
    [bbe]  Who said to God, Go away from us; and, What is the Ruler of all able to do to us?
22:18 [hgb]  哪 知 , 神 以 美 物 充 满 他 们 的 房 屋 。 但 恶 人 所 谋 定 的 离 我 好 远 。
    [kjv]  Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
    [bbe]  Though he made their houses full of good things: but the purpose of the evil-doers is far from me!
22:19 [hgb]  义 人 看 见 他 们 的 结 局 就 欢 喜 。 无 辜 的 人 嗤 笑 他 们 。
    [kjv]  The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
    [bbe]  The upright saw it and were glad: and those who had done no wrong made sport of them,
22:20 [hgb]  说 , 那 起 来 攻 击 我 们 的 果 然 被 剪 除 , 其 余 的 都 被 火 烧 灭 。
    [kjv]  Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
    [bbe]  Saying, Truly, their substance is cut off, and their wealth is food for the fire.
22:21 [hgb]  你 要 认 识 神 , 就 得 平 安 。 福 气 也 必 临 到 你 。
    [kjv]  Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby10 good shall come unto thee.
    [bbe]  Put yourself now in a right relation with him and be at peace: so will you do well in your undertakings11.
22:22 [hgb]  你 当 领 受 他 口 中 的 教 训 , 将 他 的 言 语 存 在 心 里 。
    [kjv]  Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
    [bbe]  Be pleased to take teaching from his mouth, and let his words be stored up in your heart.
22:23 [hgb]  你 若 归 向 全 能 者 , 从 你 帐 棚 中 远 除 不 义 , 就 必 得 建 立 。
    [kjv]  If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity12 far from thy tabernacles.
    [bbe]  If you come back to the Ruler of all, making yourself low before him; if you put evil far away from your tents;
22:24 [hgb]  要 将 你 的 珍 宝 丢 在 尘 土 里 , 将 俄 斐 的 黄 金 丢 在 溪 河 石 头 之 间 。
    [kjv]  Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks13.
    [bbe]  And put your gold in the dust, even your gold of Ophir among the rocks of the valleys;
22:25 [hgb]  全 能 者 就 必 为 你 的 珍 宝 , 作 你 的 宝 银 。
    [kjv]  Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
    [bbe]  Then the Ruler of all will be your gold, and his teaching will be your silver;
22:26 [hgb]  你 就 要 以 全 能 者 为 喜 乐 , 向 神 仰 起 脸 来 。
    [kjv]  For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
    [bbe]  For then you will have delight in the Ruler of all, and your face will be lifted up to God.
22:27 [hgb]  你 要 祷 告 他 , 他 就 听 你 。 你 也 要 还 你 的 愿 。
    [kjv]  Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows14.
    [bbe]  You will make your prayer to him, and be answered; and you will give effect to your oaths.
22:28 [hgb]  你 定 意 要 作 何 事 , 必 然 给 你 成 就 。 亮 光 也 必 照 耀 你 的 路 。
    [kjv]  Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
    [bbe]  Your purposes will come about, and light will be shining on your ways.
22:29 [hgb]  人 使 你 降 卑 , 你 仍 可 说 , 必 得 高 升 。 谦 卑 的 人 神 必 然 拯 救 。
    [kjv]  When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble15 person.
    [bbe]  For God makes low those whose hearts are lifted up, but he is a saviour16 to the poor in spirit.
22:30 [hgb]  人 非 无 辜 , 神 且 要 搭 救 他 。 他 因 你 手 中 清 洁 , 必 蒙 拯 救 。
    [kjv]  He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
    [bbe]  He makes safe the man who is free from sin, and if your hands are clean, salvation17 will be yours.
