[kjv] And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned1 instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
[bbe] And Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, became king in place of Coniah, the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, made king in the land of Judah.
37:2 [hgb] 但 西 底 家 和 他 的 臣 仆 ， 并 国 中 的 百 姓 ， 都 不 听 从 耶 和 华 借 先 知 耶 利 米 所 说 的 话 。
[kjv] But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the LORD, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.
[bbe] But he and his servants and the people of the land did not give ear to the words of the Lord which he said by Jeremiah the prophet.
37:3 [hgb] 西 底 家 王 打 发 示 利 米 雅 的 儿 子 犹 甲 ， 和 祭 司 玛 西 雅 的 儿 子 西 番 雅 ， 去 见 先 知 耶 利 米 ， 说 ， 求 你 为 我 们 祷 告 耶 和 华 我 们 的 神 。
[kjv] And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now unto the LORD our God for us.
[bbe] And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal, the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Make prayer now to the Lord our God for us.
37:4 [hgb] 那 时 耶 利 米 在 民 中 出 入 ， 因 为 他 们 还 没 有 把 他 囚 在 监 里 。
[kjv] Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people: for they had not put him into prison.
[bbe] (Now Jeremiah was going about among the people, for they had not put him in prison.
37:5 [hgb] 法 老 的 军 队 已 经 从 埃 及 出 来 ， 那 围 困 耶 路 撒 冷 的 迦 勒 底 人 听 见 他 们 的 风 声 ， 就 拔 营 离 开 耶 路 撒 冷 去 了 。
[kjv] Then Pharaoh's army was come forth2 out of Egypt: and when the Chaldeans that besieged3 Jerusalem heard tidings of them, they departed from Jerusalem.
[bbe] And Pharaoh's army had come out from Egypt: and the Chaldaeans, who were attacking Jerusalem, hearing news of them, went away from Jerusalem.)
37:6 [hgb] 耶 和 华 的 话 临 到 先 知 耶 利 米 说 ，
[kjv] Then came the word of the LORD unto the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
[bbe] Then the word of the Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
37:7 [hgb] 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 如 此 说 ， 犹 大 王 打 发 你 们 来 求 问 我 ， 你 们 要 如 此 对 他 说 ， 那 出 来 帮 助 你 们 法 老 的 军 队 必 回 埃 及 本 国 去 。
[kjv] Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire4 of me; Behold5, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.
[bbe] The Lord, the God of Israel, has said: This is what you are to say to the king of Judah who sent you to get directions from me: See, Pharaoh's army, which has come out to your help, will go back to Egypt, to their land.
37:8 [hgb] 迦 勒 底 人 必 再 来 攻 打 这 城 ， 并 要 攻 取 ， 用 火 焚 烧 。
[kjv] And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.
[bbe] And the Chaldaeans will come back again and make war against this town and they will take it and put it on fire.
37:9 [hgb] 耶 和 华 如 此 说 ， 你 们 不 要 自 欺 说 迦 勒 底 人 必 定 离 开 我 们 ， 因 为 他 们 必 不 离 开 。
[kjv] Thus saith the LORD; Deceive not yourselves, saying, The Chaldeans shall surely depart from us: for they shall not depart.
[bbe] The Lord has said, Have no false hopes, saying to yourselves, The Chaldaeans will go away from us: for they will not go away.
37:10 [hgb] 你 们 即 便 杀 败 了 与 你 们 争 战 的 迦 勒 底 全 军 ， 但 剩 下 受 伤 的 人 也 必 各 人 从 帐 棚 里 起 来 ， 用 火 焚 烧 这 城 。
[kjv] For though ye had smitten6 the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
[bbe] For even if you had overcome all the army of the Chaldaeans fighting against you, and there were only wounded men among them, still they would get up, every man in his tent, and put this town on fire.
37:11 [hgb] 迦 勒 底 的 军 队 因 怕 法 老 的 军 队 ， 拔 营 离 开 耶 路 撒 冷 的 时 候 ，
[kjv] And it came to pass, that when the army of the Chaldeans was broken up from Jerusalem for fear of Pharaoh's army,
[bbe] And it came about that when the Chaldaean army outside Jerusalem had gone away for fear of Pharaoh's army,
37:12 [hgb] 耶 利 米 就 杂 在 民 中 出 离 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 要 往 便 雅 悯 地 去 ， 在 那 里 得 自 己 的 地 业 。
[kjv] Then Jeremiah went forth out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to separate himself thence in the midst of the people.
[bbe] Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, with the purpose of taking up his heritage there among the people.
37:13 [hgb] 他 到 了 便 雅 悯 门 那 里 ， 有 守 门 官 名 叫 伊 利 雅 ， 是 哈 拿 尼 亚 的 孙 子 ， 示 利 米 雅 的 儿 子 ， 他 就 拿 住 先 知 耶 利 米 ， 说 ， 你 是 投 降 迦 勒 底 人 哪 。
[kjv] And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward7 was there, whose name was Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans.
[bbe] But when he was at the Benjamin door, a captain of the watch named Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah, who was stationed there, put his hand on Jeremiah the prophet, saying, You are going to give yourself up to the Chaldaeans.
37:14 [hgb] 耶 利 米 说 ， 你 这 是 谎 话 ， 我 并 不 是 投 降 迦 勒 底 人 。 伊 利 雅 不 听 他 的 话 ， 就 拿 住 他 ， 解 到 首 领 那 里 。
[kjv] Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.
[bbe] Then Jeremiah said, That is not true; I am not going to the Chaldaeans. But he would not give ear to him: so Irijah made him prisoner and took him to the rulers.
37:15 [hgb] 首 领 恼 怒 耶 利 米 ， 就 打 了 他 ， 将 他 囚 在 文 士 约 拿 单 的 房 屋 中 ， 因 为 他 们 以 这 房 屋 当 作 监 牢 。
[kjv] Wherefore the princes were wroth with Jeremiah, and smote8 him, and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.
[bbe] And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah, and gave him blows and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.
37:16 [hgb] 耶 利 米 来 到 狱 中 ， 进 入 牢 房 ， 在 那 里 囚 了 多 日 。
[kjv] When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon9, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
[bbe] So Jeremiah came into the hole of the prison, under the arches, and was there for a long time.
37:17 [hgb] 西 底 家 王 打 发 人 提 出 他 来 ， 在 自 己 的 宫 内 私 下 问 他 说 ， 从 耶 和 华 有 什 么 话 临 到 没 有 。 耶 利 米 说 ， 有 。 又 说 ， 你 必 交 在 巴 比 伦 王 手 中 。
[kjv] Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? And Jeremiah said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.
[bbe] Then King Zedekiah sent and got him out: and the king, questioning him secretly in his house, said, Is there any word from the Lord? And Jeremiah said, There is. Then he said, You will be given up into the hands of the king of Babylon.
37:18 [hgb] 耶 利 米 又 对 西 底 家 王 说 ， 我 在 什 么 事 上 得 罪 你 ， 或 你 的 臣 仆 ， 或 这 百 姓 ， 你 竟 将 我 囚 在 监 里 呢 ？
[kjv] Moreover Jeremiah said unto king Zedekiah, What have I offended against thee, or against thy servants, or against this people, that ye have put me in prison?
[bbe] Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, What has been my sin against you or against your servants or against this people, that you have put me in prison?
37:19 [hgb] 对 你 们 预 言 巴 比 伦 王 必 不 来 攻 击 你 们 和 这 地 的 先 知 ， 现 今 在 哪 里 呢 ？
[kjv] Where are now your prophets which prophesied10 unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?
[bbe] Where now are your prophets who said to you, The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land?
37:20 [hgb] 主 我 的 王 阿 ， 求 你 现 在 垂 听 ， 准 我 在 你 面 前 的 恳 求 ， 不 要 使 我 回 到 文 士 约 拿 单 的 房 屋 中 ， 免 得 我 死 在 那 里 。
[kjv] Therefore hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my supplication11, I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.
[bbe] And now be pleased to give ear, O my lord the king; let my prayer for help come before you, and do not make me go back to the house of Jonathan the scribe, for fear that I may come to my death there.
37:21 [hgb] 于 是 ， 西 底 家 王 下 令 ， 他 们 就 把 耶 利 米 交 在 护 卫 兵 的 院 中 ， 每 天 从 饼 铺 街 取 一 个 饼 给 他 ， 直 到 城 中 的 饼 用 尽 了 。 这 样 ， 耶 利 米 仍 在 护 卫 兵 的 院 中 。
[kjv] Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers12' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.
[bbe] Then by the order of Zedekiah the king, Jeremiah was put into the place of the armed watchmen, and they gave him every day a cake of bread from the street of the bread-makers, till all the bread in the town was used up. So Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen.
