11:1 [hgb]  基 列 人 耶 弗 他 是 个 大 能 的 勇 士 , 是 妓 女 的 儿 子 。 耶 弗 他 是 基 列 所 生 的 。

    [bbe]  Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a great man of war; he was the son of a loose woman, and Gilead was his father.
11:2 [hgb]  基 列 的 妻 也 生 了 几 个 儿 子 , 他 妻 所 生 的 儿 子 长 大 了 , 就 赶 逐 耶 弗 他 , 说 , 你 不 可 在 我 们 父 家 承 受 产 业 , 因 为 你 是 妓 女 的 儿 子 。 
    [kjv]  And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.
    [bbe]  And Gilead's wife gave birth to sons, and when her sons became men, they sent Jephthah away, saying, You have no part in the heritage of our father's house, for you are the son of another woman.
11:3 [hgb]  耶 弗 他 就 逃 避 他 的 弟 兄 , 去 住 在 陀 伯 地 , 有 些 匪 徒 到 他 那 里 聚 集 , 与 他 一 同 出 入 。 
    [kjv]  Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.
    [bbe]  So Jephthah went in flight from his brothers and was living in the land of Tob, where a number of good-for-nothing men, joining Jephthah, went out with him on his undertakings2.
11:4 [hgb]  过 了 些 日 子 , 亚 扪 人 攻 打 以 色 列 。 
    [kjv]  And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
    [bbe]  Now after a time the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
11:5 [hgb]  亚 扪 人 攻 打 以 色 列 的 时 候 , 基 列 的 长 老 到 陀 伯 地 去 , 要 叫 耶 弗 他 回 来 。 
    [kjv]  And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:
    [bbe]  And when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the responsible men of Gilead went to get Jephthah back from the land of Tob;
11:6 [hgb]  对 耶 弗 他 说 , 请 你 来 作 我 们 的 元 帅 , 我 们 好 与 亚 扪 人 争 战 。 
    [kjv]  And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.
