    [kjv]  Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin1: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom2, that my lord the king may get heat.
    [bbe]  So his servants said to him, Let search be made for a young virgin for my lord the king, to take care of him and be waiting on him; and you may take her in your arms, and so my lord the king will be warm.
1:3 [hgb]  于 是 在 以 色 列 全 境 寻 找 美 貌 的 童 女 ， 寻 得 书 念 的 一 个 童 女 亚 比 煞 ， 就 带 到 王 那 里 。 
    [kjv]  So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
    [bbe]  So after searching through all the land of Israel for a fair young girl, they saw Abishag the Shunammite, and took her to the king.
1:4 [hgb]  这 童 女 极 其 美 貌 ， 她 奉 养 王 ， 伺 候 王 ， 王 却 没 有 与 她 亲 近 。 
    [kjv]  And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king knew her not.
    [bbe]  Now she was very beautiful; and she took care of the king, waiting on him at all times; but the king had no connection with her.
1:5 [hgb]  那 时 ， 哈 及 的 儿 子 亚 多 尼 雅 自 尊 ， 说 ， 我 必 作 王 ， 就 为 自 己 预 备 车 辆 ， 马 兵 ， 又 派 五 十 人 在 他 前 头 奔 走 。 
    [kjv]  Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted3 himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
    [bbe]  Then Adonijah, the son of Haggith, lifting himself up in pride, said, I will become king; and he made ready his carriages of war and his horsemen, with fifty runners to go before him.
