1:1 [hgb]  亚 哈 死 后 ， 摩 押 背 叛 以 色 列 。 
    [kjv]  Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
    [bbe]  After the death of Ahab, Moab made itself free from the authority of Israel.
1:2 [hgb]  亚 哈 谢 在 撒 玛 利 亚 ， 一 日 从 楼 上 的 栏 杆 里 掉 下 来 ， 就 病 了 。 于 是 差 遣 使 者 说 ， 你 们 去 问 以 革 伦 的 神 巴 力 西 卜 ， 我 这 病 能 好 不 能 好 。 
    [kjv]  And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber¹ that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire² of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.
    [bbe]  Now Ahaziah had a fall from the window of his room in Samaria, and was ill. And he sent men, and said to them, Put a question to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, about the outcome of my disease, to see if I will get well or not.
1:3 [hgb]  但 耶 和 华 的 使 者 对 提 斯 比 人 以 利 亚 说 ， 你 起 来 ， 去 迎 着 撒 玛 利 亚 王 的 使 者 ， 对 他 们 说 ， 你 们 去 问 以 革 伦 神 巴 力 西 卜 ， 岂 因 以 色 列 中 没 有 神 吗 ？ 
    [kjv]  But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?
    [bbe]  But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Go now, and, meeting the men sent by the king of Samaria, say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you are going to get directions from Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?
1:4 [hgb]  所 以 耶 和 华 如 此 说 ， 你 必 不 下 你 所 上 的 床 ， 必 定 要 死 。 以 利 亚 就 去 了 。 
    [kjv]  Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.
    [bbe]  Give ear then to the words of the Lord: You will never again get down from the bed on to which you have gone up, but death will certainly come to you. Then Elijah went away.
1:5 [hgb]  使 者 回 来 见 王 ， 王 问 他 们 说 ， 你 们 为 什 么 回 来 呢 ？ 
    [kjv]  And when the messengers turned back unto him, he said unto them, Why are ye now turned back?
    [bbe]  And the men he had sent came back to the king; and he said to them, Why have you come back?
