23:1 [hgb]  巴 兰 对 巴 勒 说 , 你 在 这 里 给 我 筑 七 座 坛 , 为 我 预 备 七 只 公 牛 , 七 只 公 羊 。 
    [kjv]  And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams1.
    [bbe]  And Balaam said to Balak, Make me here seven altars and get ready seven oxen and seven male sheep.
23:2 [hgb]  巴 勒 照 巴 兰 的 话 行 了 。 巴 勒 和 巴 兰 在 每 座 坛 上 献 一 只 公 牛 , 一 只 公 羊 。 
    [kjv]  And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram2.
    [bbe]  And Balak did as Balaam had said; and Balak and Balaam made an offering on every altar of an ox and a male sheep.
23:3 [hgb]  巴 兰 对 巴 勒 说 , 你 站 在 你 的 燔 祭 旁 边 , 我 且 往 前 去 , 或 者 耶 和 华 来 迎 见 我 。 他 指 示 我 什 么 , 我 必 告 诉 你 。 于 是 巴 兰 上 一 净 光 的 高 处 。 
    [kjv]  And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever3 he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.
    [bbe]  Then Balaam said to Balak, Take your place by your burned offering, and I will go and see if the Lord comes to me: and I will give you word of whatever he says to me. And he went to an open place on a hill.
23:4 [hgb]  神 迎 见 巴 兰 。 巴 兰 说 , 我 预 备 了 七 座 坛 , 在 每 座 坛 上 献 了 一 只 公 牛 , 一 只 公 羊 。 
    [kjv]  And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.
    [bbe]  And God came to Balaam, and Balaam said to him, I have made ready seven altars, offering an ox and a male sheep on every altar.
23:5 [hgb]  耶 和 华 将 话 传 给 巴 兰 , 又 说 , 你 回 到 巴 勒 那 里 , 要 如 此 如 此 说 。 
    [kjv]  And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.
    [bbe]  And the Lord put words in Balaam's mouth, and said, Go back to Balak, and this is what you are to say.
23:6 [hgb]  他 就 回 到 巴 勒 那 里 , 见 他 同 摩 押 的 使 臣 都 站 在 燔 祭 旁 边 。 
    [kjv]  And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.
    [bbe]  So he went back to him where he was waiting by his burned offering with all the chiefs of Moab.
23:7 [hgb]  巴 兰 便 题 起 诗 歌 说 , 巴 勒 引 我 出 亚 兰 , 摩 押 王 引 我 出 东 山 , 说 , 来 阿 , 为 我 咒 诅 雅 各 。 来 阿 , 怒 骂 以 色 列 。 
    [kjv]  And he took up his parable4, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
    [bbe]  And in the words which the Lord had given him he said, From Aram Balak has sent for me, the king of Moab from the mountains of the East: come, put curses on Jacob for me and be angry with Israel.
23:8 [hgb]  神 没 有 咒 诅 的 , 我 焉 能 咒 诅 , 耶 和 华 没 有 怒 骂 的 , 我 焉 能 怒 骂 , 
    [kjv]  How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?
    [bbe]  How may I put curses on him who is not cursed by God? how may I be angry with him with whom the Lord is not angry?
23:9 [hgb]  我 从 高 峰 看 他 , 从 小 山 望 他 。 这 是 独 居 的 民 , 不 列 在 万 民 中 。 
    [kjv]  For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold5 him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
    [bbe]  From the top of the rocks I see him, looking down on him from the hills: it is a people made separate, not to be numbered among the nations.
23:10 [hgb]  谁 能 数 点 雅 各 的 尘 土 , 谁 能 计 算 以 色 列 的 四 分 之 一 , 我 愿 如 义 人 之 死 而 死 。 我 愿 如 义 人 之 终 而 终 。 
    [kjv]  Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!
    [bbe]  Who is able to take the measure of the dust of Jacob or the number of the thousands of Israel? May my death be the death of the upright and my last end like his!
23:11 [hgb]  巴 勒 对 巴 兰 说 , 你 向 我 作 的 是 什 么 事 呢 ? 我 领 你 来 咒 诅 我 的 仇 敌 , 不 料 , 你 竟 为 他 们 祝 福 。 
    [kjv]  And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.
    [bbe]  Then Balak said to Balaam, What have you done to me? I sent for you so that my haters might be cursed, and see, you have given them a blessing6.
23:12 [hgb]  他 回 答 说 , 耶 和 华 传 给 我 的 话 , 我 能 不 谨 慎 传 说 吗 ? 
    [kjv]  And he answered and said, Must I not take heed7 to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?
    [bbe]  And in answer he said, Am I not ordered to say only what the Lord puts into my mouth?
23:13 [hgb]  巴 勒 说 , 求 你 同 我 往 别 处 去 , 在 那 里 可 以 看 见 他 们 。 你 不 能 全 看 见 , 只 能 看 见 他 们 边 界 上 的 人 。 在 那 里 要 为 我 咒 诅 他 们 。 
    [kjv]  And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.
    [bbe]  And Balak said to him, Come with me now into another place from which you will not be able to see them all, but only the outskirts8 of them; and you will send curses on them from there.
23:14 [hgb]  于 是 领 巴 兰 到 了 琐 腓 田 , 上 了 毗 斯 迦 山 顶 , 筑 了 七 座 坛 。 每 座 坛 上 献 一 只 公 牛 , 一 只 公 羊 。 
    [kjv]  And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
    [bbe]  So he took him into the country of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and there they made seven altars, offering an ox and a male sheep on every altar.
23:15 [hgb]  巴 兰 对 巴 勒 说 , 你 站 在 这 燔 祭 旁 边 , 等 我 往 那 边 去 迎 见 耶 和 华 。 
    [kjv]  And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.
    [bbe]  Then he said to Balak, Take your place here by your burned offering, while I go over there to the Lord.
23:16 [hgb]  耶 和 华 临 到 巴 兰 那 里 , 将 话 传 给 他 。 又 说 , 你 回 到 巴 勒 那 里 , 要 如 此 如 此 说 。 
    [kjv]  And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.
    [bbe]  And the Lord came to Balaam, and put words in his mouth, and said, Go back to Balak, and this is what you are to say.
23:17 [hgb]  他 就 回 到 巴 勒 那 里 , 见 他 站 在 燔 祭 旁 边 。 摩 押 的 使 臣 也 和 他 在 一 处 。 巴 勒 问 他 说 , 耶 和 华 说 了 什 么 话 呢 ? 
    [kjv]  And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?
    [bbe]  So he came to him where he was waiting by his burned offering with the chiefs of Moab by his side. And Balak said to him, What has the Lord said?
23:18 [hgb]  巴 兰 就 题 诗 歌 说 , 巴 勒 , 你 起 来 听 。 西 拨 的 儿 子 , 你 听 我 言 。 
    [kjv]  And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor:
    [bbe]  And in the words which the Lord had given him he said, Up! Balak, and give ear; give attention to me, O son of Zippor:
23:19 [hgb]  神 非 人 , 必 不 致 说 谎 , 也 非 人 子 , 必 不 致 后 悔 。 他 说 话 岂 不 照 着 行 呢 ? 他 发 言 岂 不 要 成 就 呢 ? 
    [kjv]  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent9: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
    [bbe]  God is not a man, to say what is false; or the son of man, that his purpose may be changed: what he has said, will he not do? and will he not give effect to the words of his mouth?
23:20 [hgb]  我 奉 命 祝 福 。 神 也 曾 赐 福 , 此 事 我 不 能 翻 转 。 
    [kjv]  Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.
    [bbe]  See, I have had orders to give blessing: and he has given a blessing which I have no power to take away.
23:21 [hgb]  他 未 见 雅 各 中 有 罪 孽 , 也 未 见 以 色 列 中 有 奸 恶 。 耶 和 华 他 的 神 和 他 同 在 。 有 欢 呼 王 的 声 音 在 他 们 中 间 。 
    [kjv]  He hath not beheld10 iniquity11 in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness12 in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
    [bbe]  He has seen no evil in Jacob or wrongdoing in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the glad cry of a king is among them.
23:22 [hgb]  神 领 他 们 出 埃 及 。 他 们 似 乎 有 野 牛 之 力 。 
    [kjv]  God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn13.
    [bbe]  It is God who has taken them out of Egypt; his horns are like those of the mountain ox.
23:23 [hgb]  断 没 有 法 术 可 以 害 雅 各 , 也 没 有 占 卜 可 以 害 以 色 列 。 现 在 必 有 人 论 及 雅 各 , 就 是 论 及 以 色 列 说 , 神 为 他 行 了 何 等 的 大 事 。 
    [kjv]  Surely there is no enchantment14 against Jacob, neither is there any divination15 against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought16!
    [bbe]  No evil power has effect against Jacob, no secret arts against Israel; at the right time it will be said of Jacob and of Israel, See what God has done!
23:24 [hgb]  这 民 起 来 , 仿 佛 母 狮 , 挺 身 , 好 像 公 狮 , 未 曾 吃 野 食 , 未 曾 喝 被 伤 者 之 血 , 决 不 躺 卧 。 
    [kjv]  Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey17, and drink the blood of the slain18.
    [bbe]  See, Israel comes up like a she-lion, lifting himself up like a lion: he will take no rest till he has made a meal of those he has overcome, drinking the blood of those he has put to death.
23:25 [hgb]  巴 勒 对 巴 兰 说 , 你 一 点 不 要 咒 诅 他 们 , 也 不 要 为 他 们 祝 福 。 
    [kjv]  And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.
    [bbe]  Then Balak said to Balaam, If you will not put a curse on them, at all events do not give them a blessing.
23:26 [hgb]  巴 兰 回 答 巴 勒 说 , 我 岂 不 是 告 诉 你 说 凡 耶 和 华 所 说 的 , 我 必 须 遵 行 吗 ? 
    [kjv]  But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?
    [bbe]  But Balaam in answer said to Balak, Did I not say to you, I may only do what the Lord says?
23:27 [hgb]  巴 勒 对 巴 兰 说 , 来 吧 , 我 领 你 往 别 处 去 , 或 者 神 喜 欢 你 在 那 里 为 我 咒 诅 他 们 。 
    [kjv]  And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.
    [bbe]  Then Balak said to Balaam, Come now, I will take you to another place; it may be that God will let you put a curse on them from there.
23:28 [hgb]  巴 勒 就 领 巴 兰 到 那 下 望 旷 野 的 毗 珥 山 顶 上 。 
    [kjv]  And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.
    [bbe]  So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, looking down over the waste land.
23:29 [hgb]  巴 兰 对 巴 勒 说 , 你 在 这 里 为 我 筑 七 座 坛 , 又 在 这 里 为 我 预 备 七 只 公 牛 , 七 只 公 羊 。 
    [kjv]  And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.
