[kjv] Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly1 destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
[bbe] Now when it came to the ears of Adoni-zedek, king of Jerusalem, that Joshua had taken Ai, and had given it up to the curse (for as he had done to Jericho and its king, so he had done to Ai and its king); and that the people of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were living among them;
10:2 [hgb] 就 甚 惧 怕 。 因 为 基 遍 是 一 座 大 城 ， 如 都 城 一 般 ， 比 艾 城 更 大 ， 并 且 城 内 的 人 都 是 勇 士 。
[kjv] That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty2.
[bbe] He was in great fear, because Gibeon was a great town, like one of the king's towns, greater than Ai, and all the men in it were men of war.
10:3 [hgb] 所 以 耶 路 撒 冷 王 亚 多 尼 洗 德 打 发 人 去 见 希 伯 仑 王 何 咸 ， 耶 末 王 毗 兰 ， 拉 吉 王 雅 非 亚 ， 和 伊 矶 伦 王 底 璧 ， 说 ，
[kjv] Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,
[bbe] So Adoni-zedek, king of Jerusalem, sent to Hoham, king of Hebron, and to Piram, king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia, king of Lachish, and to Debir, king of Eglon, saying,
10:4 [hgb] 求 你 们 上 来 帮 助 我 ， 我 们 好 攻 打 基 遍 ， 因 为 他 们 与 约 书 亚 和 以 色 列 人 立 了 和 约 。
[kjv] Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite3 Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
[bbe] Come up to me and give me help, and let us make an attack on Gibeon: for they have made peace with Joshua and the children of Israel.
10:5 [hgb] 于 是 五 个 亚 摩 利 王 ， 就 是 耶 路 撒 冷 王 ， 希 伯 仑 王 ， 耶 末 王 ， 拉 吉 王 ， 伊 矶 伦 王 ， 大 家 聚 集 ， 率 领 他 们 的 众 军 上 去 ， 对 着 基 遍 安 营 ， 攻 打 基 遍 。
[kjv] Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.
[bbe] So the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, were banded together, and went up with all their armies and took up their position before Gibeon and made war against it.
10:6 [hgb] 基 遍 人 就 打 发 人 往 吉 甲 的 营 中 去 见 约 书 亚 ， 说 ， 你 不 要 袖 手 不 顾 你 的 仆 人 ， 求 你 速 速 上 来 拯 救 我 们 ， 帮 助 我 们 ， 因 为 住 山 地 亚 摩 利 人 的 诸 王 都 聚 集 攻 击 我 们 。
[kjv] And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.
[bbe] And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua to the tent-circle at Gilgal, saying, Be not slow to send help to your servants; come up quickly to our support and keep us safe: for all the kings of the Amorites from the hill-country have come together against us.
10:7 [hgb] 于 是 约 书 亚 和 他 一 切 兵 丁 ， 并 大 能 的 勇 士 ， 都 从 吉 甲 上 去 。
[kjv] So Joshua ascended4 from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.
[bbe] So Joshua went up from Gilgal with all his army and all his men of war.
10:8 [hgb] 耶 和 华 对 约 书 亚 说 ， 不 要 怕 他 们 。 因 为 我 已 将 他 们 交 在 你 手 里 ， 他 们 无 一 人 能 在 你 面 前 站 立 得 住 。
[kjv] And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
[bbe] And the Lord said to Joshua, Have no fear of them, for I have given them into your hands; they will all give way before you.
10:9 [hgb] 约 书 亚 就 终 夜 从 吉 甲 上 去 ， 猛 然 临 到 他 们 那 里 。
[kjv] Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.
[bbe] So Joshua, having come up from Gilgal all night, made a sudden attack on them.

[kjv] And the LORD discomfited5 them before Israel, and slew6 them with a great slaughter7 at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote8 them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
[bbe] And the Lord made them full of fear before Israel, and they put great numbers of them to death at Gibeon, and went after them by the way going up to Beth-horon, driving them back to Azekah and Makkedah

[kjv] And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
[bbe] And in their flight before Israel, on the way down from Beth-horon, the Lord sent down great stones from heaven on them all the way to Azekah, causing their death: those whose death was caused by the stones were more than those whom the children of Israel put to death with the sword.
10:12 [hgb] 当 耶 和 华 将 亚 摩 利 人 交 付 以 色 列 人 的 日 子 ， 约 书 亚 就 祷 告 耶 和 华 ， 在 以 色 列 人 眼 前 说 ， 日 头 阿 ， 你 要 停 在 基 遍 。 月 亮 阿 ， 你 要 止 在 亚 雅 仑 谷 。
[kjv] Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
[bbe] It was on the day when the Lord gave up the Amorites into the hands of the children of Israel that Joshua said to the Lord, before the eyes of Israel, Sun, be at rest over Gibeon; and you, O moon, in the valley of Aijalon.
10:13 [hgb] 于 是 日 头 停 留 ， 月 亮 止 住 ， 直 等 国 民 向 敌 人 报 仇 。 这 事 岂 不 是 写 在 雅 煞 珥 书 上 吗 ？ 日 头 在 天 当 中 停 住 ， 不 急 速 下 落 ， 约 有 一 日 之 久 。
[kjv] And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged9 themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
[bbe] And the sun was at rest and the moon kept its place till the nation had given punishment to their attackers. (Is it not recorded in the book of Jashar?) So the sun kept its place in the middle of the heavens, and was waiting, and did not go down, for the space of a day.
10:14 [hgb] 在 这 日 以 前 ， 这 日 以 后 ， 耶 和 华 听 人 的 祷 告 ， 没 有 像 这 日 的 ， 是 因 耶 和 华 为 以 色 列 争 战 。
[kjv] And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
[bbe] And there was no day like that, before it or after it, when the Lord gave ear to the voice of a man; for the Lord was fighting for Israel.
10:15 [hgb] 约 书 亚 和 以 色 列 众 人 回 到 吉 甲 的 营 中 。
[kjv] And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
[bbe] And Joshua, with all Israel, went back to the tent-circle at Gilgal.
10:16 [hgb] 那 五 王 逃 跑 ， 藏 在 玛 基 大 洞 里 。
[kjv] But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.
[bbe] But these five kings went in flight secretly to a hole in the rock at Makkedah.
10:17 [hgb] 有 人 告 诉 约 书 亚 说 ， 那 五 王 已 经 找 到 了 ， 都 藏 在 玛 基 大 洞 里 。
[kjv] And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah.
[bbe] And word was given to Joshua that the five kings had been taken in a hole in the rock at Makkedah.
10:18 [hgb] 约 书 亚 说 ， 你 们 把 几 块 大 石 头 滚 到 洞 口 ， 派 人 看 守 ，
[kjv] And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:
[bbe] And Joshua said, Let great stones be rolled against the mouth of the hole, and let men keep watch by it:
10:19 [hgb] 你 们 却 不 可 耽 延 ， 要 追 赶 你 们 的 仇 敌 ， 击 杀 他 们 尽 后 边 的 人 ， 不 容 他 们 进 自 己 的 城 邑 ， 因 为 耶 和 华 你 们 的 神 已 经 把 他 们 交 在 你 们 手 里 。
[kjv] And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.
[bbe] But do you, without waiting, go after their army, attacking them from the back; do not let them get into their towns, for the Lord your God has given them into your hands.
10:20 [hgb] 约 书 亚 和 以 色 列 人 大 大 杀 败 他 们 ， 直 到 将 他 们 灭 尽 。 其 中 剩 下 的 人 都 进 了 坚 固 的 城 。
[kjv] And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying10 them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.
[bbe] Now when Joshua and the children of Israel had come to the end of their war of complete destruction, and had put to death all but a small band who had got safely into the walled towns,
10:21 [hgb] 众 百 姓 就 安 然 回 玛 基 大 营 中 ， 到 约 书 亚 那 里 。 没 有 一 人 敢 向 以 色 列 人 饶 舌 。
[kjv] And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.
[bbe] All the people went back to Joshua to the tent-circle at Makkedah in peace: and no one said a word against the children of Israel.
10:22 [hgb] 约 书 亚 说 ， 打 开 洞 口 ， 将 那 五 王 从 洞 里 带 出 来 ， 领 到 我 面 前 。
[kjv] Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.
[bbe] Then Joshua said, Take away the stones from the mouth of the hole in the rock, and make those five kings come out to me.
10:23 [hgb] 众 人 就 这 样 行 ， 将 那 五 王 ， 就 是 耶 路 撒 冷 王 ， 希 伯 仑 王 ， 耶 末 王 ， 拉 吉 王 ， 伊 矶 伦 王 ， 从 洞 里 带 出 来 ， 领 到 约 书 亚 面 前 。
[kjv] And they did so, and brought forth11 those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
[bbe] And they did so, and made those five kings come out of the hole to him, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
10:24 [hgb] 带 出 那 五 王 到 约 书 亚 面 前 的 时 候 ， 约 书 亚 就 召 了 以 色 列 众 人 来 ， 对 那 些 和 他 同 去 的 军 长 说 ， 你 们 近 前 来 ， 把 脚 踏 在 这 些 王 的 颈 项 上 。 他 们 就 近 前 来 ， 把 脚 踏 在 这 些 王 的 颈 项 上 。
[kjv] And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
[bbe] And when they had made those kings come out to Joshua, Joshua sent for all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who had gone with him, Come near and put your feet on the necks of these kings. So they came near and put their feet on their necks.
10:25 [hgb] 约 书 亚 对 他 们 说 ， 你 们 不 要 惧 怕 ， 也 不 要 惊 惶 。 应 当 刚 强 壮 胆 ， 因 为 耶 和 华 必 这 样 待 你 们 所 要 攻 打 的 一 切 仇 敌 。
[kjv] And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
[bbe] And Joshua said to them, Have no fear and do not be troubled; be strong and take heart: for so will the Lord do to all against whom you make war.
10:26 [hgb] 随 后 约 书 亚 将 这 五 王 杀 死 ， 挂 在 五 棵 树 上 。 他 们 就 在 树 上 直 挂 到 晚 上 。
[kjv] And afterward12 Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

[kjv] And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.
[bbe] And when the sun went down, they were taken down from the trees, by Joshua's orders, and put into the hole where they had gone to be safe; and great stones were placed at the mouth of the hole, where they are to this day.

[bbe] That day Joshua took Makkedah, and put it and its king to the sword; every soul in it he gave up to the curse without mercy: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

[kjv] Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:

[bbe] And again the Lord gave it and its king into the hands of Israel; and he put it and every person in it to the sword, till their destruction was complete; and he did to its king as he had done to the king of Jericho.

[kjv] And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:

10:40 [hgb] 这 样 ， 约 书 亚 击 杀 全 地 的 人 ， 就 是 山 地 ， 南 地 ， 高 原 ， 山 坡 的 人 ， 和 那 些 地 的 诸 王 ， 没 有 留 下 一 个 。 将 凡 有 气 息 的 尽 行 杀 灭 ， 正 如 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 所 吩 咐 的 。
[kjv] So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.
[bbe] So Joshua overcame all the land, the hill-country and the South and the lowland and the mountain slopes, and all their kings; all were put to death: and every living thing he gave up to the curse, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had given him orders.
10:41 [hgb] 约 书 亚 从 加 低 斯 巴 尼 亚 攻 击 到 迦 萨 ， 又 攻 击 歌 珊 全 地 ， 直 到 基 遍 。
[kjv] And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.
[bbe] Joshua overcame them from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza, and all the land of Goshen as far as Gibeon.
10:42 [hgb] 约 书 亚 一 时 杀 败 了 这 些 王 ， 并 夺 了 他 们 的 地 ， 因 为 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 为 以 色 列 争 战 。
[kjv] And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.
[bbe] And all these kings and their land Joshua took at the same time, because the Lord, the God of Israel, was fighting for Israel.

[kjv] And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
