22:1 [hgb]  人 若 偷 牛 或 羊 , 无 论 是 宰 了 , 是 卖 了 , 他 就 要 以 五 牛 赔 一 牛 , 四 羊 赔 一 羊 。 
    [kjv]  If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
    [bbe]  If a man takes without right another man's ox or his sheep, and puts it to death or gets a price for it, he is to give five oxen for an ox, or four sheep for a sheep, in payment: the thief will have to make payment for what he has taken; if he has no money, he himself will have to be exchanged for money, so that payment may be made.
22:2 [hgb]  人 若 遇 见 贼 挖 窟 窿 , 把 贼 打 了 , 以 致 于 死 , 就 不 能 为 他 有 流 血 的 罪 。 
    [kjv]  If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten1 that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
    [bbe]  If a thief is taken in the act of forcing his way into a house, and his death is caused by a blow, the owner of the house is not responsible for his blood.
22:3 [hgb]  若 太 阳 已 经 出 来 , 就 为 他 有 流 血 的 罪 。 贼 若 被 拿 , 总 要 赔 还 。 若 他 一 无 所 有 , 就 要 被 卖 , 顶 他 所 偷 的 物 。 
    [kjv]  If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution2; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
    [bbe]  But if it is after dawn, he will be responsible.
22:4 [hgb]  若 他 所 偷 的 , 或 牛 , 或 驴 , 或 羊 , 仍 在 他 手 下 存 活 , 他 就 要 加 倍 赔 还 。 
    [kjv]  If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass3, or sheep; he shall restore double.
    [bbe]  If he still has what he had taken, whatever it is, ox or ass or sheep, he is to give twice its value.
22:5 [hgb]  人 若 在 田 间 或 在 葡 萄 园 里 放 牲 畜 , 任 凭 牲 畜 上 别 人 的 田 里 去 吃 , 就 必 拿 自 己 田 间 上 好 的 和 葡 萄 园 上 好 的 赔 还 。 
    [kjv]  If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
    [bbe]  If a man makes a fire in a field or a vine-garden, and lets the fire do damage to another man's field, he is to give of the best produce of his field or his vine-garden to make up for it.
22:6 [hgb]  若 点 火 焚 烧 荆 棘 , 以 致 将 别 人 堆 积 的 禾 捆 , 站 着 的 禾 稼 , 或 是 田 园 , 都 烧 尽 了 , 那 点 火 的 必 要 赔 还 。 
    [kjv]  If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing4 corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled5 the fire shall surely make restitution.
    [bbe]  If there is a fire and the flames get to the thorns at the edge of the field, causing destruction of the cut grain or of the living grain, or of the field, he who made the fire will have to make up for the damage.
22:7 [hgb]  人 若 将 银 钱 或 家 具 交 付 邻 舍 看 守 , 这 物 从 那 人 的 家 被 偷 去 , 若 把 贼 找 到 了 , 贼 要 加 倍 赔 还 , 
    [kjv]  If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
    [bbe]  If a man puts money or goods in the care of his neighbour to keep for him, and it is taken from the man's house, if they get the thief, he will have to make payment of twice the value.
22:8 [hgb]  若 找 不 到 贼 , 那 家 主 必 就 近 审 判 官 , 要 看 看 他 拿 了 原 主 的 物 件 没 有 。 
    [kjv]  If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.
    [bbe]  If they do not get the thief, let the master of the house come before the judges and take an oath that he has not put his hand on his neighbour's goods.
22:9 [hgb]  两 个 人 的 案 件 , 无 论 是 为 什 么 过 犯 , 或 是 为 牛 , 为 驴 , 为 羊 , 为 衣 裳 , 或 是 为 什 么 失 掉 之 物 , 有 一 人 说 , 这 是 我 的 , 两 造 就 要 将 案 件 禀 告 审 判 官 , 审 判 官 定 谁 有 罪 , 谁 就 要 加 倍 赔 还 。 
    [kjv]  For all manner of trespass6, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn7, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
    [bbe]  In any question about an ox or an ass or a sheep or clothing, or about the loss of any property which anyone says is his, let the two sides put their cause before God; and he who is judged to be in the wrong is to make payment to his neighbour of twice the value.
22:10 [hgb]  人 若 将 驴 , 或 牛 , 或 羊 , 或 别 的 牲 畜 , 交 付 邻 舍 看 守 , 牲 畜 或 死 , 或 受 伤 , 或 被 赶 去 , 无 人 看 见 , 
    [kjv]  If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
    [bbe]  If a man puts an ass or an ox or a sheep or any beast into the keeping of his neighbour, and it comes to death or is damaged or is taken away, without any person seeing it:
22:11 [hgb]  那 看 守 的 人 要 凭 着 耶 和 华 起 誓 , 手 里 未 曾 拿 邻 舍 的 物 , 本 主 就 要 罢 休 , 看 守 的 人 不 必 赔 还 。 
    [kjv]  Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
    [bbe]  If he takes his oath before the Lord that he has not put his hand to his neighbour's goods, the owner is to take his word for it and he will not have to make payment for it.
22:12 [hgb]  牲 畜 若 从 看 守 的 那 里 被 偷 去 , 他 就 要 赔 还 本 主 , 
    [kjv]  And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.
    [bbe]  But if it is taken from him by a thief, he is to make up for the loss of it to its owner.
22:13 [hgb]  若 被 野 兽 撕 碎 , 看 守 的 要 带 来 当 作 证 据 , 所 撕 的 不 必 赔 还 。 
    [kjv]  If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.
    [bbe]  But if it has been damaged by a beast, and he is able to make this clear, he will not have to make payment for what was damaged.
22:14 [hgb]  人 若 向 邻 舍 借 什 么 , 所 借 的 或 受 伤 , 或 死 , 本 主 没 有 同 在 一 处 , 借 的 人 总 要 赔 还 , 
    [kjv]  And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
    [bbe]  If a man gets from his neighbour the use of one of his beasts, and it is damaged or put to death when the owner is not with it, he will certainly have to make payment for the loss.
22:15 [hgb]  若 本 主 同 在 一 处 , 他 就 不 必 赔 还 , 若 是 雇 的 , 也 不 必 赔 还 , 本 是 为 雇 价 来 的 。 
    [kjv]  But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.
    [bbe]  If the owner is with it, he will not have to make payment: if he gave money for the use of it, the loss is covered by the payment.
22:16 [hgb]  人 若 引 诱 没 有 受 聘 的 处 女 , 与 她 行 淫 , 他 总 要 交 出 聘 礼 , 娶 她 为 妻 。 
    [kjv]  And if a man entice8 a maid that is not betrothed9, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
    [bbe]  If a man takes a virgin10, who has not given her word to another man, and has connection with her, he will have to give a bride-price for her to be his wife.
22:17 [hgb]  若 女 子 的 父 亲 决 不 肯 将 女 子 给 他 , 他 就 要 按 处 女 的 聘 礼 , 交 出 钱 来 。 
    [kjv]  If her father utterly11 refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins12.
    [bbe]  If her father will not give her to him on any account, he will have to give the regular payment for virgins.
22:18 [hgb]  行 邪 术 的 女 人 , 不 可 容 她 存 活 。 
    [kjv]  Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
    [bbe]  Any woman using unnatural13 powers or secret arts is to be put to death.
22:19 [hgb]  凡 与 兽 淫 合 的 , 总 要 把 他 治 死 。 
    [kjv]  Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
    [bbe]  Any man who has sex connection with a beast is to be put to death.
22:20 [hgb]  祭 祀 别 神 , 不 单 单 祭 祀 耶 和 华 的 , 那 人 必 要 灭 绝 。 
    [kjv]  He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
    [bbe]  Complete destruction will come on any man who makes offerings to any other god but the Lord.
22:21 [hgb]  不 可 亏 负 寄 居 的 , 也 不 可 欺 压 他 , 因 为 你 们 在 埃 及 地 也 作 过 寄 居 的 。 
    [kjv]  Thou shalt neither vex14 a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
    [bbe]  Do no wrong to a man from a strange country, and do not be hard on him; for you yourselves were living in a strange country, in the land of Egypt.
22:22 [hgb]  不 可 苦 待 寡 妇 和 孤 儿 , 
    [kjv]  Ye shall not afflict15 any widow, or fatherless child.
    [bbe]  Do no wrong to a widow, or to a child whose father is dead.
22:23 [hgb]  若 是 苦 待 他 们 一 点 , 他 们 向 我 一 哀 求 , 我 总 要 听 他 们 的 哀 声 , 
    [kjv]  If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
    [bbe]  If you are cruel to them in any way, and their cry comes up to me, I will certainly give ear;
22:24 [hgb]  并 要 发 烈 怒 , 用 刀 杀 你 们 , 使 你 们 的 妻 子 为 寡 妇 , 儿 女 为 孤 儿 。 
    [kjv]  And my wrath16 shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
    [bbe]  And in the heat of my wrath I will put you to death with the sword, so that your wives will be widows and your children without fathers.
22:25 [hgb]  我 民 中 有 贫 穷 人 与 你 同 住 , 你 若 借 钱 给 他 , 不 可 如 放 债 的 向 他 取 利 。 
    [kjv]  If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury17.
    [bbe]  If you let any of the poor among my people have the use of your money, do not be a hard creditor18 to him, and do not take interest.
22:26 [hgb]  你 即 或 拿 邻 舍 的 衣 服 作 当 头 , 必 在 日 落 以 先 归 还 他 , 
    [kjv]  If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
    [bbe]  If ever you take your neighbour's clothing in exchange for the use of your money, let him have it back before the sun goes down:
22:27 [hgb]  因 他 只 有 这 一 件 当 盖 头 , 是 他 盖 身 的 衣 服 , 若 是 没 有 , 他 拿 什 么 睡 觉 呢 ? 他 哀 求 我 , 我 就 应 允 , 因 为 我 是 有 恩 惠 的 。 
    [kjv]  For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
    [bbe]  For it is the only thing he has for covering his skin; what is he to go to sleep in? and when his cry comes up to me, I will give ear, for my mercy is great.
22:28 [hgb]  不 可 毁 谤 神 , 也 不 可 毁 谤 你 百 姓 的 官 长 。 
    [kjv]  Thou shalt not revile19 the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
    [bbe]  You may not say evil of the judges, or put a curse on the ruler of your people.
22:29 [hgb]  你 要 从 你 庄 稼 中 的 谷 和 酒 榨 中 滴 出 来 的 酒 拿 来 献 上 , 不 可 迟 延 。 你 要 将 头 生 的 儿 子 归 给 我 。 
    [kjv]  Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
    [bbe]  Do not keep back your offerings from the wealth of your grain and your vines. The first of your sons you are to give to me.
22:30 [hgb]  你 牛 羊 头 生 的 , 也 要 这 样 , 七 天 当 跟 着 母 , 第 八 天 要 归 给 我 。 
    [kjv]  Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
    [bbe]  In the same way with your oxen and your sheep: for seven days let the young one be with its mother; on the eighth day give it to me.
22:31 [hgb]  你 要 在 我 面 前 为 圣 洁 的 人 。 因 此 , 田 间 被 野 兽 撕 裂 牲 畜 的 肉 , 你 们 不 可 吃 , 要 丢 给 狗 吃 。 
    [kjv]  And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
    [bbe]  You are to be holy men to me: the flesh of no animal whose death has been caused by the beasts of the field may be used for your food; it is to be given to the dogs.
