[bbe] The words of Lemuel, king of Massa: the teaching which he had from his mother.
31:2 [hgb] 我 的 儿 阿 ， 我 腹 中 生 的 儿 阿 ， 我 许 愿 得 的 儿 阿 ， 我 当 怎 样 教 训 你 呢 ？
[kjv] What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
[bbe] What am I to say to you, O Lemuel, my oldest son? and what, O son of my body? and what, O son of my oaths?
31:3 [hgb] 不 要 将 你 的 精 力 给 妇 女 ， 也 不 要 有 败 坏 君 王 的 行 为 。
[kjv] Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
[bbe] Do not give your strength to women, or your ways to that which is the destruction of kings.
31:4 [hgb] 利 慕 伊 勒 阿 ， 君 王 喝 酒 ， 君 王 喝 酒 不 相 宜 。 王 子 说 ， 浓 酒 在 那 里 也 不 相 宜 。
[kjv] It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
[bbe] It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to take wine, or for rulers to say, Where is strong drink?
31:5 [hgb] 恐 怕 喝 了 就 忘 记 律 例 ， 颠 倒 一 切 困 苦 人 的 是 非 。
[kjv] Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
[bbe] For fear that through drinking they may come to have no respect for the law, wrongly judging the cause of those who are in trouble.
31:6 [hgb] 可 以 把 浓 酒 给 将 亡 的 人 喝 。 把 清 酒 给 苦 心 的 人 喝 。
[kjv] Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
[bbe] Give strong drink to him who is near to destruction, and wine to him whose soul is bitter:
31:7 [hgb] 让 他 喝 了 ， 就 忘 记 他 的 贫 穷 ， 不 再 记 念 他 的 苦 楚 。
[kjv] Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
[bbe] Let him have drink, and his need will go from his mind, and the memory of his trouble will be gone.
31:8 [hgb] 你 当 为 哑 吧 （ 或 作 不 能 自 辨 的 ） 开 口 ， 为 一 切 孤 独 的 伸 冤 。
[kjv] Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
[bbe] Let your mouth be open for those who have no voice, in the cause of those who are ready for death.
31:9 [hgb] 你 当 开 口 按 公 义 判 断 ， 为 困 苦 和 穷 乏 的 辨 屈 。
[kjv] Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
[bbe] Let your mouth be open, judging rightly, and give right decisions in the cause of the poor and those in need.
31:10 [hgb] 才 德 的 妇 人 ， 谁 能 得 着 呢 ？ 她 的 价 值 远 胜 过 珍 珠 。
[kjv] Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
[bbe] Who may make discovery of a woman of virtue? For her price is much higher than jewels.
31:11 [hgb] 她 丈 夫 心 里 倚 靠 她 ， 必 不 缺 少 利 益 。
[kjv] The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
[bbe] The heart of her husband has faith in her, and he will have profit in full measure.
31:12 [hgb] 她 一 生 使 丈 夫 有 益 无 损 。
[kjv] She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
[bbe] She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.
31:13 [hgb] 她 寻 找 羊 绒 和 麻 ， 甘 心 用 手 作 工 。
[kjv] She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
[bbe] She gets wool and linen, working at the business of her hands.
31:14 [hgb] 她 好 像 商 船 从 远 方 运 粮 来 。
[kjv] She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
[bbe] She is like the trading-ships, getting food from far away.
31:15 [hgb] 未 到 黎 明 她 就 起 来 ， 把 食 物 分 给 家 中 的 人 。 将 当 作 的 工 分 派 婢 女 。
[kjv] She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
[bbe] She gets up while it is still night, and gives meat to her family, and their food to her servant-girls.
31:16 [hgb] 她 想 得 田 地 ， 就 买 来 。 用 手 所 得 之 利 ， 栽 种 葡 萄 园 。
[kjv] She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
[bbe] After looking at a field with care, she gets it for a price, planting a vine-garden with the profit of her work.
31:17 [hgb] 她 以 能 力 束 腰 ， 使 膀 臂 有 力 。
[kjv] She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
[bbe] She puts a band of strength round her, and makes her arms strong.
31:18 [hgb] 她 觉 得 所 经 营 的 有 利 ， 她 的 灯 终 夜 不 灭 。
[kjv] She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
[bbe] She sees that her marketing is of profit to her: her light does not go out by night.
31:19 [hgb] 她 手 拿 捻 线 竿 。 手 把 纺 线 车 。
[kjv] She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
[bbe] She puts her hands to the cloth-working rod, and her fingers take the wheel.
31:20 [hgb] 她 张 手 周 济 困 苦 人 ， 伸 手 帮 补 穷 乏 人 。
[kjv] She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
[bbe] Her hands are stretched out to the poor; yes, she is open-handed to those who are in need.
31:21 [hgb] 她 不 因 下 雪 为 家 里 的 人 担 心 ， 因 为 全 家 都 穿 着 朱 红 衣 服 。
[kjv] She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
[bbe] She has no fear of the snow for her family, for all those in her house are clothed in red.
31:22 [hgb] 她 为 自 己 制 作 绣 花 毯 子 ， 她 的 衣 服 ， 是 细 麻 和 紫 色 布 作 的 。
[kjv] She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
[bbe] She makes for herself cushions of needlework; her clothing is fair linen and purple.
31:23 [hgb] 她 丈 夫 在 城 门 口 与 本 地 的 长 老 同 坐 ， 为 众 人 所 认 识 。
[kjv] Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
[bbe] Her husband is a man of note in the public place, when he takes his seat among the responsible men of the land.
31:24 [hgb] 她 作 细 麻 布 衣 裳 出 卖 。 又 将 腰 带 卖 与 商 家 。
[kjv] She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
[bbe] She makes linen robes and gets a price for them, and traders take her cloth bands for a price.
31:25 [hgb] 能 力 和 威 仪 ， 是 她 的 衣 服 。 她 想 到 日 后 的 景 况 就 喜 笑 。
[kjv] Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
[bbe] Strength and self-respect are her clothing; she is facing the future with a smile.
31:26 [hgb] 她 开 口 就 发 智 慧 。 她 舌 上 有 仁 慈 的 法 则 。
[kjv] She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
[bbe] Her mouth is open to give out wisdom, and the law of mercy is on her tongue.
31:27 [hgb] 她 观 察 家 务 ， 并 不 吃 闲 饭 。
[kjv] She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
[bbe] She gives attention to the ways of her family, she does not take her food without working for it.
31:28 [hgb] 她 的 儿 女 起 来 称 她 有 福 。 她 的 丈 夫 也 称 赞 她 ，
[kjv] Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
[bbe] Her children get up and give her honour, and her husband gives her praise, saying,
31:29 [hgb] 说 ， 才 德 的 女 子 很 多 ， 惟 独 你 超 过 一 切 。
[kjv] Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
[bbe] Unnumbered women have done well, but you are better than all of them.
31:30 [hgb] 艳 丽 是 虚 假 的 。 美 容 是 虚 浮 的 。 惟 敬 畏 耶 和 华 的 妇 女 ， 必 得 称 赞 。
[kjv] Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
[bbe] Fair looks are a deceit, and a beautiful form is of no value; but a woman who has the fear of the Lord is to be praised.
31:31 [hgb] 愿 她 享 受 操 作 所 得 的 。 愿 她 的 工 作 ， 在 城 门 口 荣 耀 她 。
[kjv] Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
[bbe] Give her credit for what her hands have made: let her be praised by her works in the public place.
