Chapter 1

And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,    [bbe]  The history of Nehemiah, the son of Hacaliah. Now it came about, in the month Chislev, in the twentieth year, when I was in Shushan, the king's town,1:2 [hgb]  那 时 ， 有 我 一 个 弟 兄 哈 拿 尼 ， 同 着 几 个 人 从 犹 大 来 。 我 问 他 们 那 些 被 掳 归 回 ， 剩 下 逃 脱 的 犹 大 人 和 耶 路 撒 冷 的 光 景 。    [kjv]  That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.    [bbe]  That Hanani, one of my brothers, came with certain men from Judah; and in answer to my request for news of the Jews who had been prisoners and had got away, and of Jerusalem,1:3 [hgb]  他 们 对 我 说 ， 那 些 被 掳 归 回 剩 下 的 人 ， 在 犹 大 省 遭 大 难 ， 受 凌 辱 。 并 且 耶 路 撒 冷 的 城 墙 拆 毁 ， 城 门 被 火 焚 烧 。    [kjv]  And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.    [bbe]  They said to me, The small band of Jews now living there in the land are in great trouble and shame: the wall of Jerusalem has been broken down, and its doorways burned with fire.1:4 [hgb]  我 听 见 这 话 ， 就 坐 下 哭 泣 ， 悲 哀 几 日 。 在 天 上 的 神 面 前 禁 食 祈 祷 ， 说 ，    [kjv]  And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,    [bbe]  Then, after hearing these words, for some days I gave myself up to weeping and sorrow, seated on the earth; and taking no food I made prayer to the God of heaven,1:5 [hgb]  耶 和 华 天 上 的 神 ， 大 而 可 畏 的 神 阿 ， 你 向 爱 你 ， 守 你 诫 命 的 人 守 约 施 慈 爱 。    [kjv]  And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:    [bbe]  And said, O Lord, the God of heaven, the great God, greatly to be feared, keeping faith and mercy with those who have love for him and are true to his laws:1:6 [hgb]  愿 你 睁 眼 看 ， 侧 耳 听 ， 你 仆 人 昼 夜 在 你 面 前 ， 为 你 众 仆 人 以 色 列 民 的 祈 祷 ， 承 认 我 们 以 色 列 人 向 你 所 犯 的 罪 。 我 与 我 父 家 都 有 罪 了 。    [kjv]  Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.    [bbe]  Let your ear now take note and let your eyes be open, so that you may give ear to the prayer of your servant, which I make before you at this time, day and night, for the children of Israel, your servants, while I put before you the sins of the children of Israel, which we have done against you: truly, I and my father's people are sinners.1:7 [hgb]  我 们 向 你 所 行 的 甚 是 邪 恶 ， 没 有 遵 守 你 借 着 仆 人 ， 摩 西 所 吩 咐 的 诫 命 ， 律 例 ， 典 章 。    [kjv]  We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.    [bbe]  We have done great wrong against you, and have not kept the orders, the rules, and the decisions, which you gave to your servant Moses.1:8 [hgb]  求 你 记 念 所 吩 咐 你 仆 人 摩 西 的 话 ， 说 ， 你 们 若 犯 罪 ， 我 就 把 你 们 分 散 在 万 民 中 。    [kjv]  Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:    [bbe]  Keep in mind, O Lord, the order you gave your servant Moses, saying, If you do wrong I will send you wandering among the peoples:1:9 [hgb]  但 你 们 若 归 向 我 ， 谨 守 遵 行 我 的 诫 命 ， 你 们 被 赶 散 的 人 虽 在 天 涯 ， 我 也 必 从 那 里 将 他 们 招 聚 回 来 ， 带 到 我 所 选 择 立 为 我 名 的 居 所 。    [kjv]  But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.    [bbe]  But if you come back to me and keep my orders and do them, even if those of you who have been forced out are living in the farthest parts of heaven, I will get them from there, and take them back to the place marked out by me for the resting-place of my name.1:10 [hgb]  这 都 是 你 的 仆 人 ， 你 的 百 姓 ， 就 是 你 用 大 力 ， 和 大 能 的 手 所 救 赎 的 。    [kjv]  Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.    [bbe]  Now these are your servants and your people, whom you have made yours by your great power and by your strong hand.1:11 [hgb]  主 阿 ， 求 你 侧 耳 听 你 仆 人 的 祈 祷 ， 和 喜 爱 敬 畏 你 名 众 仆 人 的 祈 祷 ， 使 你 仆 人 现 今 亨 通 ， 在 王 面 前 蒙 恩 。 我 是 作 王 酒 政 的 。    [kjv]  O LORD, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.    [bbe]  O Lord, let your ear take note of the prayer of your servant, and of the prayers of your servants, who take delight in worshipping your name: give help, O Lord, to your servant this day, and let him have mercy in the eyes of this man. (Now I was the king's wine-servant.)
Chapter 2
2:1 [hgb]  亚 达 薛 西 王 二 十 年 尼 散 月 ， 在 王 面 前 摆 酒 ， 我 拿 起 酒 来 奉 给 王 。 我 素 来 在 王 面 前 没 有 愁 容 。    [kjv]  And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.    [bbe]  And it came about in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, when wine was before him, that I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had never before been sad when the king was present.2:2 [hgb]  王 对 我 说 ， 你 既 没 有 病 ， 为 什 么 面 带 愁 容 呢 ？ 这 不 是 别 的 ， 必 是 你 心 中 愁 烦 。 于 是 我 甚 惧 怕 。    [kjv]  Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,    [bbe]  And the king said to me, Why is your face sad, seeing that you are not ill? this is nothing but sorrow of heart. Then I was full of fear;2:3 [hgb]  我 对 王 说 ， 愿 王 万 岁 。 我 列 祖 坟 墓 所 在 的 那 城 荒 凉 ， 城 门 被 火 焚 烧 ， 我 岂 能 面 无 愁 容 吗 ？    [kjv]  And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?    [bbe]  And said to the king, May the king be living for ever: is it not natural for my face to be sad, when the town, the place where the bodies of my fathers are at rest, has been made waste and its doorways burned with fire?2:4 [hgb]  王 问 我 说 ， 你 要 求 什 么 。 于 是 我 默 祷 天 上 的 神 。    [kjv]  Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.    [bbe]  Then the king said to me, What is your desire? So I made prayer to the God of heaven.2:5 [hgb]  我 对 王 说 ， 仆 人 若 在 王 眼 前 蒙 恩 ， 王 若 喜 欢 ， 求 王 差 遣 我 往 犹 大 ， 到 我 列 祖 坟 墓 所 在 的 那 城 去 ， 我 好 重 新 建 造 。    [kjv]  And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.    [bbe]  And I said to the king, If it is the king's pleasure, and if your servant has your approval, send me to Judah, to the town where the bodies of my fathers are at rest, so that I may take in hand the building of it.2:6 [hgb]  那 时 王 后 坐 在 王 的 旁 边 。 王 问 我 说 ， 你 去 要 多 少 日 子 。 几 时 回 来 。 我 就 定 了 日 期 。 于 是 王 喜 欢 差 遣 我 去 。    [kjv]  And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.    [bbe]  And the king said to me (the queen being seated by his side), How long will your journey take, and when will you come back? So the king was pleased to send me, and I gave him a fixed time.2:7 [hgb]  我 又 对 王 说 ， 王 若 喜 欢 ， 求 王 赐 我 诏 书 ， 通 知 大 河 西 的 省 长 准 我 经 过 ， 直 到 犹 大 。    [kjv]  Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;    [bbe]  Further, I said to the king, If it is the king's pleasure, let letters be given to me for the rulers across the river, so that they may let me go through till I come to Judah;2:8 [hgb]  又 赐 诏 书 ， 通 知 管 理 王 园 林 的 亚 萨 ， 使 他 给 我 木 料 ， 作 属 殿 营 楼 之 门 的 横 梁 和 城 墙 ， 与 我 自 己 房 屋 使 用 的 。 王 就 允 准 我 ， 因 我 神 施 恩 的 手 帮 助 我 。    [kjv]  And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.    [bbe]  And a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king's park, so that he may give me wood to make boards for the doors of the tower of the house, and for the wall of the town, and for the house which is to be mine. And the king gave me this, for the hand of my God was on me.2:9 [hgb]  王 派 了 军 长 和 马 兵 护 送 我 。 我 到 了 河 西 的 省 长 那 里 ， 将 王 的 诏 书 交 给 他 们 。    [kjv]  Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me.    [bbe]  Then I came to the rulers of the lands across the river and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent with me captains of the army and horsemen.2:10 [hgb]  和 伦 人 参 巴 拉 ， 并 为 奴 的 亚 扪 人 多 比 雅 ， 听 见 有 人 来 为 以 色 列 人 求 好 处 ， 就 甚 恼 怒 。    [kjv]  When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.    [bbe]  And Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, hearing of it, were greatly troubled because a man had come to the help of the children of Israel.2:11 [hgb]  我 到 了 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 在 那 里 住 了 三 日 。    [kjv]  So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days.    [bbe]  So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days.2:12 [hgb]  我 夜 间 起 来 ， 有 几 个 人 也 一 同 起 来 ， 但 神 使 我 心 里 要 为 耶 路 撒 冷 做 什 么 事 ， 我 并 没 有 告 诉 人 。 除 了 我 骑 的 牲 口 以 外 ， 也 没 有 别 的 牲 口 在 我 那 里 。    [kjv]  And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon.    [bbe]  And in the night I got up, taking with me a small band of men; I said nothing to any man of what God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem: and I had no beast with me but the one on which I was seated.2:13 [hgb]  当 夜 我 出 了 谷 门 ， 往 野 狗 井 去 （ 野 狗 或 作 龙 ） ， 到 了 粪 厂 门 ， 察 看 耶 路 撒 冷 的 城 墙 ， 见 城 墙 拆 毁 ， 城 门 被 火 焚 烧 。    [kjv]  And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.    [bbe]  And I went out by night, through the doorway of the valley, and past the dragon's water-spring as far as the place where waste material was put, viewing the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down, and the doorways which had been burned with fire.2:14 [hgb]  我 又 往 前 ， 到 了 泉 门 和 王 池 ， 但 所 骑 的 牲 口 没 有 地 方 过 去 。    [kjv]  Then I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to the king's pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass.    [bbe]  Then I went on to the door of the fountain and to the king's pool: but there was no room for my beast to get through.2:15 [hgb]  于 是 夜 间 沿 溪 而 上 ， 察 看 城 墙 ， 又 转 身 进 入 谷 门 ， 就 回 来 了 。    [kjv]  Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned.    [bbe]  Then in the night, I went up by the stream, viewing the wall; then turning back, I went in by the door in the valley, and so came back.2:16 [hgb]  我 往 哪 里 去 ， 我 做 什 么 事 ， 官 长 都 不 知 道 。 我 还 没 有 告 诉 犹 大 平 民 ， 祭 司 ， 贵 胄 ， 官 长 ， 和 其 余 做 工 的 人 。    [kjv]  And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.    [bbe]  And the chiefs had no knowledge of where I had been or what I was doing; and I had not then said anything to the Jews or to the priests or the great ones or the chiefs or the rest of those who were doing the work.2:17 [hgb]  以 后 ， 我 对 他 们 说 ， 我 们 所 遭 的 难 ， 耶 路 撒 冷 怎 样 荒 凉 ， 城 门 被 火 焚 烧 ， 你 们 都 看 见 了 。 来 吧 ， 我 们 重 建 耶 路 撒 冷 的 城 墙 ， 免 得 再 受 凌 辱 。    [kjv]  Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.    [bbe]  Then I said to them, You see what a bad condition we are in; how Jerusalem is a waste, and its doorways burned with fire: come, let us get to work, building up the wall of Jerusalem, so that we may no longer be put to shame.2:18 [hgb]  我 告 诉 他 们 我 神 施 恩 的 手 怎 样 帮 助 我 ， 并 王 对 我 所 说 的 话 。 他 们 就 说 ， 我 们 起 来 建 造 吧 。 于 是 他 们 奋 勇 做 这 善 工 。    [kjv]  Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.    [bbe]  Then I gave them an account of how the hand of my God was on me, helping me; and of the king's words which he had said to me. And they said, Let us get to work on the building. So they made their hands strong for the good work.2:19 [hgb]  但 和 伦 人 参 巴 拉 ， 并 为 奴 的 亚 扪 人 多 比 雅 ， 和 亚 拉 伯 人 基 善 ， 听 见 就 嗤 笑 我 们 ， 藐 视 我 们 ， 说 ， 你 们 做 什 么 呢 ？ 要 背 叛 王 吗 ？    [kjv]  But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?    [bbe]  But Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, hearing of it, made sport of us, laughing at us and saying, What are you doing? will you go against the king?2:20 [hgb]  我 回 答 他 们 说 ， 天 上 的 神 必 使 我 们 亨 通 。 我 们 作 他 仆 人 的 ， 要 起 来 建 造 。 你 们 却 在 耶 路 撒 冷 无 分 ， 无 权 ， 无 纪 念 。    [kjv]  Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.    [bbe]  Then answering them I said, The God of heaven, he will be our help; so we his servants will go on with our building: but you have no part or right or any name in Jerusalem.
Chapter 3
3:1 [hgb]  那 时 ， 大 祭 司 以 利 亚 实 ， 和 他 的 弟 兄 众 祭 司 ， 起 来 建 立 羊 门 ， 分 别 为 圣 ， 安 立 门 扇 。 又 筑 城 墙 到 哈 米 亚 楼 ， 直 到 哈 楠 业 楼 ， 分 别 为 圣 。    [kjv]  Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.    [bbe]  Then Eliashib, the chief priest, got up with his brothers the priests, and took in hand the building of the sheep doorway; they made it holy and put its doors in position; as far as the tower of Hammeah they made it holy, even to the tower of Hananel.3:2 [hgb]  其 次 是 耶 利 哥 人 建 造 。 其 次 是 音 利 的 儿 子 撒 刻 建 造 。    [kjv]  And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.    [bbe]  And by his side the men of Jericho were building. And after them, Zaccur, the son of Imri.3:3 [hgb]  哈 西 拿 的 子 孙 建 立 鱼 门 ， 架 横 梁 ， 安 门 扇 ， 和 闩 锁 。    [kjv]  But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.    [bbe]  The sons of Hassenaah were the builders of the fish doorway; they put its boards in place and put up its doors, with their locks and rods.3:4 [hgb]  其 次 是 哈 哥 斯 的 孙 子 ， 乌 利 亚 的 儿 子 米 利 末 修 造 。 其 次 是 米 示 萨 别 的 孙 子 ， 比 利 迦 的 儿 子 米 书 兰 修 造 。 其 次 是 巴 拿 的 儿 子 撒 督 修 造 。    [kjv]  And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.    [bbe]  By their side Meremoth, the son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, was making good the walls. Then Meshullam, the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabel; and by him, Zadok, the son of Baana.3:5 [hgb]  其 次 是 提 哥 亚 人 修 造 。 但 是 他 们 的 贵 胄 不 用 肩 担 他 们 主 的 工 作 （ 肩 原 文 作 颈 项 ） 。    [kjv]  And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their LORD.    [bbe]  Near them, the Tekoites were at work; but their chiefs did not put their necks to the work of their Lord.3:6 [hgb]  巴 西 亚 的 儿 子 ， 耶 何 耶 大 与 比 所 玳 的 儿 子 ， 米 书 兰 修 造 古 门 ， 架 横 梁 ， 安 门 扇 和 闩 锁 。    [kjv]  Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.    [bbe]  Joiada, the son of Paseah, and Meshullam, the son of Besodeiah, made good the old doorway; they put its boards in place and put up its doors, with their locks and rods.3:7 [hgb]  其 次 是 基 遍 人 米 拉 提 ， 米 伦 人 雅 顿 与 基 遍 人 ， 并 属 河 西 总 督 所 管 的 米 斯 巴 人 修 造 。    [kjv]  And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.    [bbe]  By their side were working Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah from the seat of the ruler across the river.3:8 [hgb]  其 次 是 银 匠 ， 哈 海 雅 的 儿 子 乌 薛 修 造 。 其 次 是 做 香 的 哈 拿 尼 雅 修 造 。 这 些 人 修 坚 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 直 到 宽 墙 。    [kjv]  Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.    [bbe]  Near them was working Uzziel, the son of Harhaiah, the gold-worker. And by him was Hananiah, one of the perfume-makers, building up Jerusalem as far as the wide wall.3:9 [hgb]  其 次 是 管 理 耶 路 撒 冷 一 半 ， 户 珥 的 儿 子 利 法 雅 修 造 。    [kjv]  And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.    [bbe]  Near them was working Rephaiah, the son of Hur, the ruler of half Jerusalem.3:10 [hgb]  其 次 是 哈 路 抹 的 儿 子 ， 耶 大 雅 对 着 自 己 的 房 屋 修 造 。 其 次 是 哈 沙 尼 的 儿 子 哈 突 修 造 。    [kjv]  And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.    [bbe]  By his side was Jedaiah, the son of Harumaph, opposite his house. And by him was Hattush, the son of Hashabneiah.3:11 [hgb]  哈 琳 的 儿 子 玛 基 雅 ， 和 巴 哈 摩 押 的 儿 子 哈 述 修 造 一 段 ， 并 修 造 炉 楼 。    [kjv]  Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.    [bbe]  Malchijah, the son of Harim, and Hasshub, the son of Pahath-moab, were working on another part, and the tower of the ovens.3:12 [hgb]  其 次 是 管 理 耶 路 撒 冷 那 一 半 ， 哈 罗 黑 的 儿 子 沙 龙 ， 和 他 的 女 儿 们 修 造 。    [kjv]  And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.    [bbe]  Near them was Shallum, the son of Hallohesh, the ruler of half Jerusalem, with his daughters.3:13 [hgb]  哈 嫩 和 撒 挪 亚 的 居 民 修 造 谷 门 ， 立 门 ， 安 门 扇 和 闩 锁 ， 又 建 筑 城 墙 一 千 肘 ， 直 到 粪 厂 门 。    [kjv]  The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate. Chapter 4
4:1 [hgb]  参 巴 拉 听 见 我 们 修 造 城 墙 就 发 怒 ， 大 大 恼 恨 ， 嗤 笑 犹 大 人 。    [kjv]  But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.    [bbe]  Now, Sanballat, hearing that we were building the wall, was very angry, and in his wrath made sport of the Jews.4:2 [hgb]  对 他 弟 兄 和 撒 玛 利 亚 的 军 兵 说 ， 这 些 软 弱 的 犹 大 人 做 什 么 呢 ？ 要 保 护 自 己 吗 ？ 要 献 祭 吗 ？ 要 一 日 成 功 吗 ？ 要 从 土 堆 里 拿 出 火 烧 的 石 头 再 立 墙 吗 ？    [kjv]  And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? Chapter 5

[bbe]  Then there was a great outcry from the people and their wives against their countrymen the Jews.5:2 [hgb]  有 的 说 ， 我 们 和 儿 女 人 口 众 多 ， 要 去 得 粮 食 度 命 。    [kjv]  For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live. And there was very great gladness.    [bbe]  All the people who had been prisoners and had come back, made tents and were living in them: for from the time of Jeshua, the son of Nun, till that day, the children of Israel had not done so. Chapter 9
9:1 [hgb]  这 月 二 十 四 日 ， 以 色 列 人 聚 集 禁 食 ， 身 穿 麻 衣 ， 头 蒙 灰 尘 。    [kjv]  Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.    [bbe]  Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel came together, taking no food and putting haircloth and dust on their bodies.9:2 [hgb]  以 色 列 人 （ 人 原 文 作 种 类 ） 就 与 一 切 外 邦 人 离 绝 ， 站 着 承 认 自 己 的 罪 恶 和 列 祖 的 罪 孽 。    [kjv]  And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. [bbe]  And gave witness against them so that you might make them come back again to your law: but their hearts were lifted up, and they gave no attention to your orders and went against your decisions (which, if a man keeps them, will be life to him), and turning their backs on you, made their necks stiff and did not give ear.9:30 [hgb]  但 你 多 年 宽 容 他 们 ， 又 用 你 的 灵 借 众 先 知 劝 戒 他 们 ， 他 们 仍 不 听 从 ， 所 以 你 将 他 们 交 在 列 国 之 民 的 手 中 。    [kjv]  Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands. [bbe]  And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave what was needed by the music-makers and the door-keepers day by day: and they made the offerings holy for the Levites; and the Levites did the same for the sons of Aaron.
Chapter 13
13:1 [hgb]  当 日 ， 人 念 摩 西 的 律 法 书 给 百 姓 听 ， 遇 见 书 上 写 着 说 ， 亚 扪 人 和 摩 押 人 永 不 可 入 神 的 会 。    [kjv]  On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;    [bbe]  On that day there was a reading from the book of Moses in the hearing of the people; and they saw that it said in the book that no Ammonite or Moabite might ever come into the meeting of God;13:2 [hgb]  因 为 他 们 没 有 拿 食 物 ， 和 水 来 迎 接 以 色 列 人 ， 且 雇 了 巴 兰 咒 诅 他 们 ， 但 我 们 的 神 使 那 咒 诅 变 为 祝 福 。    [kjv]  Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.    [bbe]  Because they did not give the children of Israel bread and water when they came to them, but got Balaam to put a curse on them: though the curse was turned into a blessing by our God.13:3 [hgb]  以 色 列 民 听 见 这 律 法 ， 就 与 一 切 闲 杂 人 绝 交 。    [kjv]  Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.    [bbe]  So after hearing the law, they took out of Israel all the mixed people.13:4 [hgb]  先 是 蒙 派 管 理 我 们 神 殿 中 库 房 ， 的 祭 司 以 利 亚 实 与 多 比 雅 结 亲 。    [kjv]  And before this, Eliashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto Tobiah:    [bbe]  Now before this, Eliashib the priest, who had been placed over the rooms of the house of our God, being a friend of Tobiah,13:5 [hgb]  便 为 他 预 备 一 间 大 屋 子 ， 就 是 从 前 收 存 素 祭 ， 乳 香 ， 器 皿 ， 和 照 命 令 供 给 利 未 人 ， 歌 唱 的 ， 守 门 的 五 谷 ， 新 酒 ， 和 油 的 十 分 之 一 ， 并 归 祭 司 举 祭 的 屋 子 。    [kjv]  And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.    [bbe]  Had made ready for him a great room, where at one time they kept the meal offerings, the perfume, and the vessels and the tenths of the grain and wine and oil which were given by order to the Levites and the music-makers and the door-keepers, and the lifted offerings for the priests.13:6 [hgb]  那 时 我 不 在 耶 路 撒 冷 。 因 为 巴 比 伦 王 亚 达 薛 西 三 十 二 年 ， 我 回 到 王 那 里 。 过 了 多 日 ， 我 向 王 告 假 。    [kjv]  But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king:    [bbe]  But all this time I was not at Jerusalem: for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes, king of Babylon, I went to the king; and after some days, I got the king to let me go,13:7 [hgb]  我 来 到 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 就 知 道 以 利 亚 实 为 多 比 雅 在 神 殿 的 院 内 ， 预 备 屋 子 的 那 件 恶 事 。    [kjv]  And I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.    [bbe]  And I came to Jerusalem; and it was clear to me what evil Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in making ready for him a room in the buildings of the house of God.13:8 [hgb]  我 甚 恼 怒 ， 就 把 多 比 雅 的 一 切 家 具 从 屋 里 都 抛 出 去 。    [kjv]  And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the chamber.    [bbe]  And it was evil in my eyes: so I had all Tobiah's things put out of the room.13:9 [hgb]  吩 咐 人 洁 净 这 屋 子 ， 遂 将 神 殿 的 器 皿 和 素 祭 ， 乳 香 又 搬 进 去 。    [kjv]  Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense.    [bbe]  Then I gave orders, and they made the rooms clean: and I put back in them the vessels of the house of God, with the meal offerings and the perfume.13:10 [hgb]  我 见 利 未 人 所 当 得 的 分 ， 无 人 供 给 他 们 ， 甚 至 供 职 的 利 未 人 与 歌 唱 的 ， 俱 各 奔 回 自 己 的 田 地 去 了 。    [kjv]  And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.    [bbe]  And I saw that the Levites had not been given what was needed for their support; so that the Levites and the music-makers, who did the work, had gone away, everyone to his field.13:11 [hgb]  我 就 斥 责 官 长 说 ， 为 何 离 弃 神 的 殿 呢 ？ 我 便 招 聚 利 未 人 ， 使 他 们 照 旧 供 职 。    [kjv]  Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.    [bbe]  Then I made protests to the chiefs, and said, Why has the house of God been given up? And I got them together and put them in their places.13:12 [hgb]  犹 大 众 人 就 把 五 谷 ， 新 酒 ， 和 油 的 十 分 之 一 送 入 库 房 。    [kjv]  Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries. [bbe]  And I made controllers over the store-houses, Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah: and with them was Hanan, the son of Zaccur the son of Mattaniah: they were taken to be true men and their business was the distribution of these things to their brothers.13:14 [hgb]  我 的 神 阿 ， 求 你 因 这 事 记 念 我 ， 不 要 涂 抹 我 为 神 的 殿 ， 与 其 中 的 礼 节 所 行 的 善 。    [kjv]  Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof. [bbe]  In those days, I saw in Judah some who were crushing grapes on the Sabbath, and getting in grain and putting it on asses; as well as wine and grapes and figs and all sorts of goods which they took into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: and I gave witness against them on the day when they were marketing food.13:16 [hgb]  又 有 推 罗 人 住 在 耶 路 撒 冷 。 他 们 把 鱼 和 各 样 货 物 运 进 来 ， 在 安 息 日 卖 给 犹 大 人 。    [kjv]  There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.    [bbe]  And there were men of Tyre there, who came with fish and all sorts of goods, trading with the children of Judah and in Jerusalem on the Sabbath.13:17 [hgb]  我 就 斥 责 犹 大 的 贵 胄 说 ， 你 们 怎 么 行 这 恶 事 犯 了 安 息 日 呢 ？    [kjv]  Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?    [bbe]  Then I made protests to the chiefs of Judah, and said to them, What is this evil which you are doing, not keeping the Sabbath day holy?13:18 [hgb]  从 前 你 们 列 祖 岂 不 是 这 样 行 ， 以 致 我 们 神 使 一 切 灾 祸 临 到 我 们 ， 和 这 城 吗 ？ 现 在 你 们 还 犯 安 息 日 ， 使 忿 怒 越 发 临 到 以 色 列 。    [kjv]  Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.    [bbe]  Did not your fathers do the same, and did not our God send all this evil on us and on this town? but you are causing more wrath to come on Israel by not keeping the Sabbath holy.13:19 [hgb]  在 安 息 日 的 前 一 日 ， 耶 路 撒 冷 城 门 有 黑 影 的 时 候 ， 我 就 吩 咐 人 将 门 关 锁 ， 不 过 安 息 日 不 准 开 放 。 我 又 派 我 几 个 仆 人 管 理 城 门 ， 免 得 有 人 在 安 息 日 担 什 么 担 子 进 城 。    [kjv]  And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.    [bbe]  And so, when the streets of Jerusalem were getting dark before the Sabbath, I gave orders for the doors to be shut and not to be open again till after the Sabbath: and I put some of my servants by the door so that nothing might be taken in on the Sabbath day.13:20 [hgb]  于 是 商 人 和 贩 卖 各 样 货 物 的 ， 一 两 次 住 宿 在 耶 路 撒 冷 城 外 。    [kjv]  So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.    [bbe]  So the traders in all sorts of goods took their night's rest outside Jerusalem once or twice.13:21 [hgb]  我 就 警 戒 他 们 说 ， 你 们 为 何 在 城 外 住 宿 呢 ？ 若 再 这 样 ， 我 必 下 手 拿 办 你 们 。 从 此 以 后 ， 他 们 在 安 息 日 不 再 来 了 。    [kjv]  Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.    [bbe]  Then I gave witness against them and said, Why are you waiting all night by the wall? if you do so again I will have you taken prisoners. From that time they did not come again on the Sabbath.13:22 [hgb]  我 吩 咐 利 未 人 洁 净 自 己 ， 来 守 城 门 ， 使 安 息 日 为 圣 。 我 的 神 阿 ， 求 你 因 这 事 记 念 我 ， 照 你 的 大 慈 爱 怜 恤 我 。    [kjv]  And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.    [bbe]  And I gave the Levites orders to make themselves clean and come and keep the doors and make the Sabbath holy. Keep this in mind to my credit, O my God, and have mercy on me, for great is your mercy.13:23 [hgb]  那 些 日 子 ， 我 也 见 犹 大 人 娶 了 亚 实 突 ， 亚 扪 ， 摩 押 的 女 子 为 妻 。    [kjv]  In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:    [bbe]  And in those days I saw the Jews who were married to women of Ashdod and Ammon and Moab:13:24 [hgb]  他 们 的 儿 女 说 话 ， 一 半 是 亚 实 突 的 话 ， 不 会 说 犹 大 的 话 ， 所 说 的 是 照 着 各 族 的 方 言 。    [kjv]  And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.    [bbe]  And their children were talking half in the language of Ashdod; they had no knowledge of the Jews' language, but made use of the language of the two peoples.13:25 [hgb]  我 就 斥 责 他 们 ， 咒 诅 他 们 ， 打 了 他 们 几 个 人 ， 拔 下 他 们 的 头 发 ， 叫 他 们 指 着 神 起 誓 ， 必 不 将 自 己 的 女 儿 嫁 给 外 邦 人 的 儿 子 ， 也 不 为 自 己 和 儿 子 娶 他 们 的 女 儿 。    [kjv]  And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.    [bbe]  And I took up the cause against them, cursing them and giving blows to some of them and pulling out their hair; and I made them take an oath by God, saying, You are not to give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.13:26 [hgb]  我 又 说 ， 以 色 列 王 所 罗 门 不 是 在 这 样 的 事 上 犯 罪 吗 ？ 在 多 国 中 并 没 有 一 王 像 他 ， 且 蒙 他 神 所 爱 ， 神 立 他 作 以 色 列 全 国 的 王 。 然 而 连 他 也 被 外 邦 女 子 引 诱 犯 罪 。    [kjv]  Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.
