5:2 [hgb] 忿 怒 害 死 愚 妄 人 , 嫉 妒 杀 死 痴 迷 人 。
[kjv] For wrath2 killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
[bbe] For wrath is the cause of death to the foolish, and he who has no wisdom comes to his end through passion.
5:3 [hgb] 我 曾 见 愚 妄 人 扎 下 根 , 但 我 忽 然 咒 诅 他 的 住 处 。
[kjv] I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

5:4 [hgb] 他 的 儿 女 远 离 稳 妥 的 地 步 , 在 城 门 口 被 压 , 并 无 人 搭 救 。
[kjv] His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.
[bbe] Now his children have no safe place, and they are crushed before the judges, for no one takes up their cause.
5:5 [hgb] 他 的 庄 稼 有 饥 饿 的 人 吃 尽 了 , 就 是 在 荆 棘 里 的 也 抢 去 了 。 他 的 财 宝 有 网 罗 张 口 吞 灭 了 。
[kjv] Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
[bbe] Their produce is taken by him who has no food, and their grain goes to the poor, and he who is in need of water gets it from their spring.
5:6 [hgb] 祸 患 原 不 是 从 土 中 出 来 。 患 难 也 不 是 从 地 里 发 生 。
[kjv] Although affliction cometh not forth3 of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
[bbe] For evil does not come out of the dust, or trouble out of the earth;
5:7 [hgb] 人 生 在 世 必 遇 患 难 , 如 同 火 星 飞 腾 。
[kjv] Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
[bbe] But trouble is man's fate from birth, as the flames go up from the fire.
5:8 [hgb] 至 于 我 , 我 必 仰 望 神 , 把 我 的 事 情 托 付 他 。
[kjv] I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
[bbe] But as for me, I would make my prayer to God, and I would put my cause before him:
5:9 [hgb] 他 行 大 事 不 可 测 度 , 行 奇 事 不 可 胜 数 。
[kjv] Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
[bbe] Who does great things outside our knowledge, wonders without number:
5:10 [hgb] 降 雨 在 地 上 , 赐 水 于 田 里 。
[kjv] Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
[bbe] Who gives rain on the earth, and sends water on the fields:
5:11 [hgb] 将 卑 微 的 安 置 在 高 处 , 将 哀 痛 的 举 到 稳 妥 之 地 。
[kjv] To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted4 to safety.
[bbe] Lifting up those who are low, and putting the sad in a safe place;
5:12 [hgb] 破 坏 狡 猾 人 的 计 谋 , 使 他 们 所 谋 的 不 得 成 就 。
[kjv] He disappointeth the devices of the crafty5, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
[bbe] Who makes the designs of the wise go wrong, so that they are unable to give effect to their purposes.
5:13 [hgb] 他 叫 有 智 慧 的 中 了 自 己 的 诡 计 , 使 狡 诈 人 的 计 谋 速 速 灭 亡 。
[kjv] He taketh the wise in their own craftiness6: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
[bbe] He takes the wise in their secret designs, and the purposes of the twisted are cut off suddenly.
5:14 [hgb] 他 们 白 昼 遇 见 黑 暗 , 午 间 摸 索 如 在 夜 间 。
[kjv] They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night.
[bbe] In the daytime it becomes dark for them, and in the sunlight they go feeling about as if it was night.
5:15 [hgb] 神 拯 救 穷 乏 人 , 脱 离 他 们 口 中 的 刀 , 和 强 暴 人 的 手 。
[kjv] But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty7.
[bbe] But he keeps safe from their sword those who have no father, and the poor from the power of the strong.
5:16 [hgb] 这 样 , 贫 寒 的 人 有 指 望 , 罪 孽 之 辈 必 塞 口 无 言 。
[kjv] So the poor hath hope, and iniquity8 stoppeth her mouth.
[bbe] So the poor man has hope, and the mouth of the evil-doer is stopped.
5:17 [hgb] 神 所 惩 治 的 人 是 有 福 的 。 所 以 你 不 可 轻 看 全 能 者 的 管 教 。
[kjv] Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
[bbe] Truly, that man is happy who has training from the hand of God: so do not let your heart be shut to the teaching of the Ruler of all.
5:18 [hgb] 因 为 他 打 破 , 又 缠 裹 。 他 击 伤 , 用 手 医 治 。
[kjv] For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
[bbe] For after his punishment he gives comfort, and after wounding, his hands make you well.
5:19 [hgb] 你 六 次 遭 难 , 他 必 救 你 。 就 是 七 次 , 灾 祸 也 无 法 害 你 。
[kjv] He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
[bbe] He will keep you safe from six troubles, and in seven no evil will come near you.
5:20 [hgb] 在 饥 荒 中 , 他 必 救 你 脱 离 死 亡 。 在 争 战 中 , 他 必 救 你 脱 离 刀 剑 的 权 力 。
[kjv] In famine he shall redeem9 thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
[bbe] When there is need of food he will keep you from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
5:21 [hgb] 你 必 被 隐 藏 , 不 受 口 舌 之 害 。 灾 殃 临 到 , 你 也 不 惧 怕 。
[kjv] Thou shalt be hid from the scourge10 of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
[bbe] He will keep you safe from the evil tongue; and you will have no fear of wasting when it comes.
5:22 [hgb] 你 遇 见 灾 害 饥 馑 , 就 必 嬉 笑 。 地 上 的 野 兽 , 你 也 不 惧 怕 。
[kjv] At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
[bbe] You will make sport of destruction and need, and will have no fear of the beasts of the earth.
5:23 [hgb] 因 为 你 必 与 田 间 的 石 头 立 约 , 田 里 的 野 兽 也 必 与 你 和 好 。
[kjv] For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

5:24 [hgb] 你 必 知 道 你 帐 棚 平 安 , 要 查 看 你 的 羊 圈 , 一 无 所 失 。
[kjv] And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
[bbe] And you will be certain that your tent is at peace, and after looking over your property you will see that nothing is gone.
5:25 [hgb] 也 必 知 道 你 的 后 裔 将 来 发 达 , 你 的 子 孙 像 地 上 的 青 草 。
[kjv] Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
[bbe] You will be certain that your seed will be great, and your offspring like the plants of the earth.
5:26 [hgb] 你 必 寿 高 年 迈 才 归 坟 墓 , 好 像 禾 捆 到 时 收 藏 。
[kjv] Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
[bbe] You will come to your last resting-place in full strength, as the grain is taken up to the crushing-floor in its time.
5:27 [hgb] 这 理 , 我 们 已 经 考 察 , 本 是 如 此 。 你 须 要 听 , 要 知 道 是 与 自 己 有 益 。
[kjv] Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
