1:2 [hgb]  老 年 人 哪 , 当 听 我 的 话 。 国 中 的 居 民 哪 , 都 要 侧 耳 而 听 。 在 你 们 的 日 子 , 或 你 们 列 祖 的 日 子 , 曾 有 这 样 的 事 吗 ? 
    [kjv]  Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
    [bbe]  Give ear to this, you old men, and take note, you people of the land. Has this ever been in your days, or in the days of your fathers?
1:3 [hgb]  你 们 要 将 这 事 传 与 子 , 子 传 与 孙 , 孙 传 与 后 代 。 
    [kjv]  Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
    [bbe]  Give the story of it to your children, and let them give it to their children, and their children to another generation.
1:4 [hgb]  剪 虫 剩 下 的 , 蝗 虫 来 吃 。 蝗 虫 剩 下 的 , 蝻 子 来 吃 。 蝻 子 剩 下 的 , 蚂 蚱 来 吃 。 
    [kjv]  That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust1 eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
    [bbe]  What the worm did not make a meal of, has been taken by the locust; and what the locust did not take, has been food for the plant-worm; and what the plant-worm did not take, has been food for the field-fly.
1:5 [hgb]  酒 醉 的 人 哪 , 要 清 醒 哭 泣 。 好 酒 的 人 哪 , 都 要 为 甜 酒 哀 号 。 因 为 从 你 们 的 口 中 断 绝 了 。 
    [kjv]  Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
    [bbe]  Come out of your sleep, you who are overcome with wine, and give yourselves to weeping; give cries of sorrow, all you drinkers of wine, because of the sweet wine; for it has been cut off from your mouths.
1:6 [hgb]  有 一 队 蝗 虫 ( 原 文 是 民 ) 又 强 盛 又 无 数 , 侵 犯 我 的 地 。 它 的 牙 齿 如 狮 子 的 牙 齿 , 大 牙 如 母 狮 的 大 牙 。 
    [kjv]  For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
    [bbe]  For a nation has come up over my land, strong and without number; his teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he has the back teeth of a great lion.
1:7 [hgb]  它 毁 坏 我 的 葡 萄 树 , 剥 了 我 无 花 果 树 的 皮 , 剥 尽 而 丢 弃 , 使 枝 条 露 白 。 
    [kjv]  He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig2 tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
    [bbe]  By him my vine is made waste and my fig-tree broken: he has taken all its fruit and sent it down to the earth; its branches are made white.
1:8 [hgb]  我 的 民 哪 , 你 当 哀 号 , 像 处 女 腰 束 麻 布 , 为 幼 年 的 丈 夫 哀 号 。 
    [kjv]  Lament3 like a virgin4 girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
    [bbe]  Make sounds of grief like a virgin dressed in haircloth for the husband of her early years.
1:9 [hgb]  素 祭 和 奠 祭 从 耶 和 华 的 殿 中 断 绝 。 事 奉 耶 和 华 的 祭 司 都 悲 哀 。 
    [kjv]  The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.
    [bbe]  The meal offering and the drink offering have been cut off from the house of the Lord; the priests, the Lord's servants, are sorrowing.
1:10 [hgb]  田 荒 凉 , 地 悲 哀 , 因 为 五 谷 毁 坏 , 新 酒 干 竭 , 油 也 缺 乏 。 
    [kjv]  The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
    [bbe]  The fields are wasted, the land has become dry; for the grain is wasted, the new wine is kept back, the oil is poor.
1:11 [hgb]  农 夫 阿 , 你 们 要 惭 愧 , 修 理 葡 萄 园 的 阿 , 你 们 要 哀 号 , 因 为 大 麦 小 麦 , 与 田 间 的 庄 稼 , 都 灭 绝 了 。 
    [kjv]  Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley5; because the harvest of the field is perished.
    [bbe]  The farmers are shamed, the workers in the vine-gardens give cries of grief, for the wheat and the barley; for the produce of the fields has come to destruction.
1:12 [hgb]  葡 萄 树 枯 干 , 无 花 果 树 衰 残 。 石 榴 树 , 棕 树 , 苹 果 树 , 连 田 野 一 切 的 树 木 , 也 都 枯 干 。 众 人 的 喜 乐 尽 都 消 灭 。 
    [kjv]  The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered6: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
    [bbe]  The vine has become dry and the fig-tree is feeble; the pomegranate and the palm-tree and the apple-tree, even all the trees of the field, are dry: because joy has gone from the sons of men.
1:13 [hgb]  祭 司 阿 , 你 们 当 腰 束 麻 布 痛 哭 。 伺 候 祭 坛 的 阿 , 你 们 要 哀 号 。 事 奉 我 神 的 阿 , 你 们 要 来 披 上 麻 布 过 夜 。 因 为 素 祭 , 和 奠 祭 , 从 你 们 神 的 殿 中 断 绝 了 。 
    [kjv]  Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
    [bbe]  Put haircloth round you and give yourselves to sorrow, you priests; give cries of grief, you servants of the altar: come in, and, clothed in haircloth, let the night go past, you servants of my God: for the meal offering and the drink offering have been kept back from the house of your God.
1:14 [hgb]  你 们 要 分 定 禁 食 的 日 子 , 宣 告 严 肃 会 , 招 聚 长 老 , 和 国 中 的 一 切 居 民 , 到 耶 和 华 你 们 神 的 殿 , 向 耶 和 华 哀 求 。 
    [kjv]  Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD.
    [bbe]  Let a time be fixed7 for going without food, have a holy meeting, let the old men, even all the people of the land, come together to the house of the Lord your God, crying out to the Lord.
1:15 [hgb]  哀 哉 , 耶 和 华 的 日 子 临 近 了 。 这 日 来 到 , 好 像 毁 灭 从 全 能 者 来 到 。 
    [kjv]  Alas8 for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty9 shall it come.
    [bbe]  Sorrow for the day! for the day of the Lord is near, and as destruction from the Ruler of all it will come.
1:16 [hgb]  粮 食 不 是 在 我 们 眼 前 断 绝 了 吗 ? 欢 喜 快 乐 不 是 从 我 们 神 的 殿 中 止 息 了 吗 ? 
    [kjv]  Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
    [bbe]  Is not food cut off before our eyes? joy and delight from the house of our God?
1:17 [hgb]  谷 种 在 土 块 下 朽 烂 。 仓 也 荒 凉 , 廪 也 破 坏 。 因 为 五 谷 枯 干 了 。 
    [kjv]  The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners10 are laid desolate11, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
    [bbe]  The grains have become small and dry under the spade; the store-houses are made waste, the grain-stores are broken down; for the grain is dry and dead.
1:18 [hgb]  牲 畜 哀 鸣 , 牛 群 混 乱 , 因 为 无 草 。 羊 群 也 受 了 困 苦 。 
    [kjv]  How do the beasts groan12! the herds13 of cattle are perplexed14, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
    [bbe]  What sounds of pain come from the beasts! the herds of cattle are at a loss because there is no grass for them; even the flocks of sheep are no longer to be seen.
1:19 [hgb]  耶 和 华 阿 , 我 向 你 求 告 。 因 为 火 烧 灭 旷 野 的 草 场 , 火 焰 烧 尽 田 野 的 树 木 。 
    [kjv]  O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured15 the pastures of the wilderness16, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
    [bbe]  O Lord, my cry goes up to you: for fire has put an end to the grass-lands of the waste, and all the trees of the field are burned with its flame.
1:20 [hgb]  田 野 的 走 兽 向 你 发 喘 。 因 为 溪 水 干 涸 , 火 也 烧 灭 旷 野 的 草 场 。 
    [kjv]  The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
    [bbe]  The beasts of the field are turning to you with desire: for the water-streams are dry and fire has put an end to the grass-lands of the waste.
