    [kjv]  And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty2 works are wrought3 by his hands?
    [bbe]  And when the Sabbath day had come, he was teaching in the Synagogue; and a number of people hearing him were surprised, saying, From where did this man get these things? and, What is the wisdom given to this man, and what are these works of power done by his hands?

    [kjv]  Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

6:4 [hgb]  耶 稣 对 他 们 说 , 大 凡 先 知 , 除 了 本 地 亲 属 本 家 之 外 , 没 有 不 被 人 尊 敬 的 。
    [kjv]  But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin4, and in his own house.
    [bbe]  And Jesus said to them, A prophet is nowhere without honour, but in his country, and among his relations, and in his family.
6:5 [hgb]  耶 稣 就 在 那 里 不 得 行 什 么 异 能 , 不 过 按 手 在 几 个 病 人 身 上 , 治 好 他 们 。
    [kjv]  And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
    [bbe]  And he was unable to do any work of power there, but only to put his hands on one or two persons who were ill, and make them well.

    [bbe]  And he was greatly surprised because they had no faith. And he went about the country places teaching.
6:7 [hgb]  耶 稣 叫 了 十 二 个 门 徒 来 , 差 遣 他 们 两 个 两 个 的 出 去 。 也 赐 给 他 们 权 柄 , 制 伏 污 鬼 。
    [kjv]  And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth6 by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
    [bbe]  And he gave orders to the twelve, and sent them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits;
6:8 [hgb]  并 且 嘱 咐 他 们 , 行 路 的 时 候 , 不 要 带 食 物 和 口 袋 , 腰 袋 里 也 不 要 带 钱 , 除 了 拐 杖 以 外 , 什 么 都 不 要 带 。
    [kjv]  And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
    [bbe]  And he said that they were to take nothing for their journey, but a stick only; no bread, no bag, no money in their pockets;

    [kjv]  And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide7 till ye depart from that place.

6:11 [hgb]  何 处 的 人 , 不 接 待 你 们 , 不 听 你 们 , 你 们 离 开 那 里 的 时 候 , 就 把 脚 上 的 尘 土 跺 下 去 , 对 他 们 作 见 证 。
    [kjv]  And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony8 against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment9, than for that city.
    [bbe]  And whatever place will not take you in and will not give ear to you, when you go away, put off the dust from your feet as a witness against them.
6:12 [hgb]  门 徒 就 出 去 , 传 道 叫 人 悔 改 。
    [kjv]  And they went out, and preached that men should repent10.
    [bbe]  And they went out, preaching the need for a change of heart in men.
6:13 [hgb]  又 赶 出 许 多 的 鬼 , 用 油 抹 了 许 多 病 人 , 治 好 他 们 。
    [kjv]  And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
    [bbe]  And they sent out a number of evil spirits, and put oil on a great number who were ill, and made them well.
6:14 [hgb]  耶 稣 的 名 声 传 扬 出 来 。 希 律 王 听 见 了 , 就 说 , 施 洗 的 约 翰 从 死 里 复 活 了 , 所 以 这 些 异 能 由 他 里 面 发 出 来 。
    [kjv]  And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
    [bbe]  And king Herod had news of him, because his name was on the lips of all; and he said, John the Baptist has come back from the dead, and for this reason these powers are working in him.
6:15 [hgb]  但 别 人 说 , 是 以 利 亚 。 又 有 人 说 , 是 先 知 , 正 像 先 知 中 的 一 位 。
    [kjv]  Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
    [bbe]  But others said, It is Elijah. And others said, It is a prophet, even like one of the prophets.

    [kjv]  But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

6:21 [hgb]  有 一 天 , 恰 巧 是 希 律 的 生 日 , 希 律 摆 设 筵 席 , 请 了 大 臣 和 千 夫 长 , 并 加 利 利 作 首 领 的 。
    [kjv]  And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

6:22 [hgb]  希 罗 底 的 女 儿 进 来 跳 舞 , 使 希 律 和 同 席 的 人 都 欢 喜 。 王 就 对 女 子 说 , 你 随 意 向 我 求 什 么 , 我 必 给 你 。
    [kjv]  And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever12 thou wilt13, and I will give it thee.
    [bbe]  And when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and did a dance, Herod and those who were at table with him were pleased with her; and the king said to the girl, Make a request for anything and I will give it you.
6:23 [hgb]  又 对 她 起 誓 说 , 随 你 向 我 求 什 么 , 就 是 我 国 的 一 半 , 我 也 必 给 你 。
    [kjv]  And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
    [bbe]  And he took an oath, saying to her, Whatever is your desire I will give it to you, even half of my kingdom.
6:24 [hgb]  她 就 出 去 , 对 她 母 亲 说 , 我 可 以 求 什 么 呢 ? 她 母 亲 说 , 施 洗 约 翰 的 头 。
    [kjv]  And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
    [bbe]  And she went out and said to her mother, What is my request to be? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
6:25 [hgb]  她 就 急 忙 进 去 见 王 , 求 他 说 , 我 愿 王 立 时 把 施 洗 约 翰 的 头 , 放 在 盘 子 里 给 我 。
    [kjv]  And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
    [bbe]  And she came in quickly to the king, and said, My desire is that you give me straight away on a plate the head of John the Baptist.
6:26 [hgb]  王 就 甚 忧 愁 。 但 因 他 所 起 的 誓 , 又 因 同 席 的 人 , 就 不 肯 推 辞 。
    [kjv]  And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
    [bbe]  And the king was very sad; but because of his oaths, and those who were with him at table, he would not say 'No' to her.
6:27 [hgb]  随 即 差 一 个 护 卫 兵 , 吩 咐 拿 约 翰 的 头 来 。 护 卫 兵 就 去 在 监 里 斩 了 约 翰 ,
    [kjv]  And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
    [bbe]  And straight away the king sent out one of his armed men, and gave him an order to come back with the head: and he went and took off John's head in prison,

6:29 [hgb]  约 翰 的 门 徒 听 见 了 , 就 来 把 他 的 尸 首 领 去 , 葬 在 坟 墓 里 。
    [kjv]  And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse14, and laid it in a tomb.
    [bbe]  And when his disciples had news of it, they came and took up his body, and put it in its last resting-place.
6:30 [hgb]  使 徒 聚 集 到 耶 稣 那 里 , 将 一 切 所 作 的 事 , 所 传 的 道 , 全 告 诉 他 。
    [kjv]  And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
    [bbe]  And the twelve came together to Jesus; and they gave him an account of all the things they had done, and all they had been teaching.
6:31 [hgb]  他 就 说 , 你 们 来 同 我 暗 暗 地 到 旷 野 地 方 去 歇 一 歇 。 这 是 因 为 来 往 的 人 多 , 他 们 连 吃 饭 也 没 有 工 夫 。
    [kjv]  And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
    [bbe]  And he said to them, Come away by yourselves to a quiet place, and take a rest for a time. Because there were a great number coming and going, and they had no time even for food.
6:32 [hgb]  他 们 就 坐 船 , 暗 暗 地 往 旷 野 地 方 去 。
    [kjv]  And they departed into a desert place by ship privately15.
    [bbe]  And they went away in the boat to a waste place by themselves.
6:33 [hgb]  众 人 看 见 他 们 去 , 有 许 多 认 识 他 们 的 , 就 从 各 城 步 行 , 一 同 跑 到 那 里 , 比 他 们 先 赶 到 了 。
    [kjv]  And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither16 out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
    [bbe]  And the people saw them going, and a number of them, having knowledge who they were, went running there together on foot from all the towns, and got there before them.
6:34 [hgb]  耶 稣 出 来 , 见 有 许 多 的 人 , 就 怜 悯 他 们 。 因 为 他 们 如 同 羊 没 有 牧 人 一 般 。 于 是 开 口 教 训 他 们 许 多 道 理 。
    [kjv]  And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion17 toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
    [bbe]  And he got out, and saw a great mass of people, and he had pity on them, because they were like sheep without a keeper: and he gave them teaching about a number of things.
6:35 [hgb]  天 已 经 晚 了 , 门 徒 进 前 来 说 , 这 是 野 地 , 天 已 经 晚 了 ,
    [kjv]  And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

    [kjv]  Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

    [kjv]  He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
    [bbe]  But he said to them in answer, Give them food yourselves. And they said to him, Are we to go and get bread for two hundred pence, and give it to them?
6:38 [hgb]  耶 稣 说 , 你 们 有 多 少 饼 , 可 以 去 看 看 。 他 们 知 道 了 , 就 说 , 五 个 饼 , 两 条 鱼 。
    [kjv]  He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
    [bbe]  And he said to them, How much bread have you? go and see. And when they had seen, they said, Five cakes of bread and two fishes.
