4:1 [hgb]  我 为 主 被 囚 的 劝 你 们 , 既 然 蒙 召 , 行 事 为 人 就 当 与 蒙 召 的 恩 相 称 。 
    [kjv]  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech1 you that ye walk worthy2 of the vocation3 wherewith ye are called,
    [bbe]  I then, the prisoner in the Lord, make this request from my heart, that you will see that your behaviour is a credit to the position which God's purpose has given you,
4:2 [hgb]  凡 事 谦 虚 , 温 柔 , 忍 耐 , 用 爱 心 互 相 宽 容 , 
    [kjv]  With all lowliness and meekness4, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
    [bbe]  With all gentle and quiet behaviour, taking whatever comes, putting up with one another in love;
4:3 [hgb]  用 和 平 彼 此 联 络 , 竭 力 保 守 圣 灵 所 赐 合 而 为 一 的 心 。 
    [kjv]  Endeavouring to keep the unity5 of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
    [bbe]  Taking care to keep the harmony of the Spirit in the yoke6 of peace.
4:4 [hgb]  身 体 只 有 一 个 , 圣 灵 只 有 一 个 , 正 如 你 们 蒙 召 , 同 有 一 个 指 望 , 
    [kjv]  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
    [bbe]  There is one body and one Spirit, even as you have been marked out by God in the one hope of his purpose for you;
4:5 [hgb]  一 主 , 一 信 , 一 洗 , 
    [kjv]  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

4:6 [hgb]  一 神 , 就 是 众 人 的 父 , 超 乎 众 人 之 上 , 贯 乎 众 人 之 中 , 也 住 在 众 人 之 内 。 
    [kjv]  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
    [bbe]  One God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
4:7 [hgb]  我 们 各 人 蒙 恩 , 都 是 照 基 督 所 量 给 各 人 的 恩 赐 。 
    [kjv]  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
    [bbe]  But to every one of us has grace been given in the measure of the giving of Christ.
4:8 [hgb]  所 以 经 上 说 , 他 升 上 高 天 的 时 候 , 掳 掠 了 仇 敌 , 将 各 样 的 恩 赐 赏 给 人 。 
    [kjv]  Wherefore he saith, When he ascended7 up on high, he led captivity8 captive, and gave gifts unto men.
    [bbe]  For this reason he says, He went up on high, taking his prisoners with him, and gave freely to men.
4:9 [hgb]  ( 既 说 升 上 , 岂 不 是 先 降 在 地 下 吗 ? 
    [kjv]  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended9 first into the lower parts of the earth?
    [bbe]  (Now this, He went up, what is it but that he first went down into the lower parts of the earth?
4:10 [hgb]  那 降 下 的 , 就 是 远 升 诸 天 之 上 要 充 满 万 有 的 。 ) 
    [kjv]  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
    [bbe]  He who went down is the same who went up far over all the heavens so that he might make all things complete.)
4:11 [hgb]  他 所 赐 的 有 使 徒 , 有 先 知 。 有 传 福 音 的 。 有 牧 师 和 教 师 。 
    [kjv]  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors10 and teachers;
    [bbe]  And he gave some as Apostles, and some, prophets; and some, preachers of the good news; and some to give care and teaching;
4:12 [hgb]  为 要 成 全 圣 徒 , 各 尽 其 职 , 建 立 基 督 的 身 体 。 
    [kjv]  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry11, for the edifying12 of the body of Christ:
    [bbe]  For the training of the saints as servants in the church, for the building up of the body of Christ:
4:13 [hgb]  直 等 到 我 们 众 人 在 真 道 上 同 归 于 一 , 认 识 神 的 儿 子 , 得 以 长 大 成 人 , 满 有 基 督 长 成 的 身 量 。 
    [kjv]  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature13 of the fulness of Christ:
    [bbe]  Till we all come to the harmony of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to full growth, to the full measure of Christ:
4:14 [hgb]  使 我 们 不 再 作 小 孩 子 , 中 了 人 的 诡 计 , 和 欺 骗 的 法 术 , 被 一 切 异 教 之 风 摇 动 , 飘 来 飘 去 , 就 随 从 各 样 的 异 端 。 
    [kjv]  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine14, by the sleight15 of men, and cunning craftiness16, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
    [bbe]  So that we may be no longer children, sent this way and that, turned about by every wind of teaching, by the twisting and tricks of men, by the deceits of error;
4:15 [hgb]  惟 用 爱 心 说 诚 实 话 , 凡 事 长 进 , 连 于 元 首 基 督 。 
    [kjv]  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
    [bbe]  But saying true words in love, may come to full growth in him, who is the head, even Christ;
4:16 [hgb]  全 身 都 靠 他 联 络 得 合 式 , 百 节 各 按 各 职 , 照 着 各 体 的 功 用 , 彼 此 相 助 , 便 叫 身 体 渐 渐 增 长 , 在 爱 中 建 立 自 己 。 
    [kjv]  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint17 supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
    [bbe]  Through whom all the body, being rightly formed and united together, by the full working of every part, is increased to the building up of itself in love.
4:17 [hgb]  所 以 我 说 , 且 在 主 里 确 实 地 说 , 你 们 行 事 , 不 要 再 像 外 邦 人 存 虚 妄 的 心 行 事 。 
    [kjv]  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
    [bbe]  This I say, then, and give witness in the Lord, that you are to go no longer in the way of the Gentiles whose minds are turned to that which has no profit,
4:18 [hgb]  他 们 心 地 昏 昧 , 与 神 所 赐 的 生 命 隔 绝 了 , 都 因 自 己 无 知 , 心 里 刚 硬 。 
    [kjv]  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated18 from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
    [bbe]  Whose thoughts are dark, to whom the life of God is strange because they are without knowledge, and their hearts have been made hard;
4:19 [hgb]  良 心 既 然 丧 尽 , 就 放 纵 私 欲 , 贪 行 种 种 的 污 秽 。 
    [kjv]  Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness19, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
    [bbe]  Who having no more power of feeling, have given themselves up to evil passions, to do all unclean things with overmuch desire.
4:20 [hgb]  你 们 学 了 基 督 , 却 不 是 这 样 。 
    [kjv]  But ye have not so learned Christ;
    [bbe]  For this was not the teaching of Christ which was given to you;
4:21 [hgb]  如 果 你 们 听 过 他 的 道 , 领 了 他 的 教 , 学 了 他 的 真 理 , 
    [kjv]  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
    [bbe]  If in fact you gave ear to him, and were given teaching in him, even as what is true is made clear in Jesus:
4:22 [hgb]  就 要 脱 去 你 们 从 前 行 为 上 的 旧 人 。 这 旧 人 是 因 私 欲 的 迷 惑 , 渐 渐 变 坏 的 。 
    [kjv]  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt20 according to the deceitful lusts21;
    [bbe]  That you are to put away, in relation to your earlier way of life, the old man, which has become evil by love of deceit;
4:23 [hgb]  又 要 将 你 们 的 心 志 改 换 一 新 。 
    [kjv]  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
    [bbe]  And be made new in the spirit of your mind,
4:24 [hgb]  并 且 穿 上 新 人 。 这 新 人 是 照 着 神 的 形 像 造 的 , 有 真 理 的 仁 义 , 和 圣 洁 。 
    [kjv]  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
    [bbe]  And put on the new man, to which God has given life, in righteousness and a true and holy way of living.
4:25 [hgb]  所 以 你 们 要 弃 绝 谎 言 , 各 人 与 邻 舍 说 实 话 。 因 为 我 们 是 互 相 为 肢 体 。 
    [kjv]  Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
    [bbe]  And so, putting away false words, let everyone say what is true to his neighbour: for we are parts one of another.
4:26 [hgb]  生 气 却 不 要 犯 罪 。 不 可 含 怒 到 日 落 。

4:28 [hgb]  从 前 偷 窃 的 , 不 要 再 偷 。 总 要 劳 力 , 亲 手 作 正 经 事 , 就 可 有 余 分 给 那 缺 少 的 人 。 
    [kjv]  Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
    [bbe]  Let him who was a thief be so no longer, but let him do good work with his hands, so that he may have something to give to him who is in need.
4:29 [hgb]  污 秽 的 言 语 , 一 句 不 可 出 口 , 只 要 随 事 说 造 就 人 的 好 话 , 叫 听 见 的 人 得 益 处 。 
    [kjv]  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
    [bbe]  Let no evil talk come out of your mouth, but only what is good for giving necessary teaching, and for grace to those who give ear.
4:30 [hgb]  不 要 叫 神 的 圣 灵 担 忧 。 你 们 原 是 受 了 他 的 印 记 , 等 候 得 赎 的 日 子 来 到 。 
    [kjv]  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

4:31 [hgb]  一 切 苦 毒 , 恼 恨 , 忿 怒 , 嚷 闹 , 毁 谤 , 并 一 切 的 恶 毒 , ( 或 作 阴 毒 ) 都 当 从 你 们 中 间 除 掉 。 
    [kjv]  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice24:
    [bbe]  Let all bitter, sharp and angry feeling, and noise, and evil words, be put away from you, with all unkind acts;
4:32 [hgb]  并 要 以 恩 慈 相 待 , 存 怜 悯 的 心 , 彼 此 饶 恕 , 正 如 神 在 基 督 里 饶 恕 了 你 们 一 样 。 
    [kjv]  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
