2:1 [hgb]  我 儿 阿 , 你 要 在 基 督 耶 稣 的 恩 典 上 刚 强 起 来 。 
    [kjv]  Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
    [bbe]  So then, my child, be strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus.
2:2 [hgb]  你 在 许 多 见 证 人 面 前 听 见 我 所 教 训 的 , 也 要 交 托 那 忠 心 能 教 导 别 人 的 人 。 
    [kjv]  And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
    [bbe]  And the things which I have said to you before a number of witnesses, give to those of the faith, so that they may be teachers of others.
2:3 [hgb]  你 要 和 我 同 受 苦 难 , 好 像 基 督 耶 稣 的 精 兵 。 
    [kjv]  Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
    [bbe]  Be ready to do without the comforts of life, as one of the army of Christ Jesus.
2:4 [hgb]  凡 在 军 中 当 兵 的 , 不 将 世 务 缠 身 , 好 叫 那 招 他 当 兵 的 人 喜 悦 。 
    [kjv]  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
    [bbe]  A fighting man, when he is with the army, keeps himself free from the business of this life so that he may be pleasing to him who has taken him into his army.
2:5 [hgb]  人 若 在 场 上 比 武 , 非 按 规 矩 , 就 不 能 得 冠 冕 。 
    [kjv]  And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully1.
    [bbe]  And if a man takes part in a competition he does not get the crown if he has not kept the rules.
2:6 [hgb]  劳 力 的 农 夫 , 理 当 先 得 粮 食 。 
    [kjv]  The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
    [bbe]  It is right for the worker in the fields to be the first to take of the fruit.
2:7 [hgb]  我 所 说 的 话 你 要 思 想 。 因 为 凡 事 主 必 给 你 聪 明 。 
    [kjv]  Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
    [bbe]  Give thought to what I say; for the Lord will give you wisdom in all things.
2:8 [hgb]  你 要 记 念 耶 稣 基 督 乃 是 大 卫 的 后 裔 。 他 从 死 里 复 活 , 正 合 乎 我 所 传 的 福 音 。 
    [kjv]  Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
    [bbe]  Keep in mind Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, who came back from the dead, as my good news gives witness:
2:9 [hgb]  我 为 这 福 音 受 苦 难 , 甚 至 被 捆 绑 , 像 犯 人 一 样 。 然 而 神 的 道 , 却 不 被 捆 绑 。 
    [kjv]  Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
    [bbe]  In which I put up with the hardest conditions, even prison chains, like one who has done a crime; but the word of God is not in chains.
2:10 [hgb]  所 以 我 为 选 民 凡 事 忍 耐 , 叫 他 们 也 可 以 得 着 那 在 基 督 耶 稣 里 的 救 恩 , 和 永 远 的 荣 耀 。 
    [kjv]  Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation2 which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
    [bbe]  But I undergo all things for the saints, so that they may have salvation in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
2:11 [hgb]  有 可 信 的 话 说 , 我 们 若 与 基 督 同 死 , 也 必 与 他 同 活 。 
    [kjv]  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
    [bbe]  This is a true saying: If we undergo death with him, then will we be living with him:
2:12 [hgb]  我 们 若 能 忍 耐 , 也 必 和 他 一 同 作 王 。 我 们 若 不 认 他 , 他 也 必 不 认 我 们 。 
    [kjv]  If we suffer, we shall also reign3 with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
    [bbe]  If we go on to the end, then we will be ruling with him: if we say we have no knowledge of him, then he will say he has no knowledge of us:
2:13 [hgb]  我 们 纵 然 失 信 , 他 仍 是 可 信 的 。 因 为 他 不 能 背 乎 自 己 。 
    [kjv]  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
    [bbe]  If we are without faith, still he keeps faith, for he will never be untrue to himself.
2:14 [hgb]  你 要 使 众 人 回 想 这 些 事 , 在 主 面 前 嘱 咐 他 们 , 不 可 为 言 语 争 辩 。 这 是 没 有 益 处 的 , 只 能 败 坏 听 见 的 人 。 
    [kjv]  Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting4 of the hearers.
    [bbe]  Put these things before them, giving them orders in the name of the Lord to keep themselves from fighting about words, which is of no profit, only causing error in their hearers.
2:15 [hgb]  你 当 竭 力 , 在 神 面 前 得 蒙 喜 悦 , 作 无 愧 的 工 人 , 按 着 正 意 分 解 真 理 的 道 。 
    [kjv]  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
    [bbe]  Let it be your care to get the approval of God, as a workman who has no cause for shame, giving the true word in the right way.
2:16 [hgb]  但 要 远 避 世 俗 的 虚 谈 。 因 为 这 等 人 必 进 到 更 不 敬 虔 的 地 步 。 
    [kjv]  But shun5 profane6 and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
    [bbe]  But take no part in wrong and foolish talk, for those who do so will go farther into evil,
2:17 [hgb]  他 们 的 话 如 同 毒 疮 , 越 烂 越 大 。 其 中 有 许 米 乃 和 腓 理 徒 。 
    [kjv]  And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
    [bbe]  And their words will be like poisoned wounds in the flesh: such are Hymenaeus and Philetus;
2:18 [hgb]  他 们 偏 离 了 真 道 , 说 复 活 的 事 已 过 , 就 败 坏 好 些 人 的 信 心 。 
    [kjv]  Who concerning the truth have erred7, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow8 the faith of some.
    [bbe]  Men whose ideas are all false, who say that the coming back from the dead has even now taken place, overturning the faith of some.
2:19 [hgb]  然 而 神 坚 固 的 根 基 立 住 了 。 上 面 有 这 印 记 说 , 主 认 识 谁 是 他 的 人 。 又 说 , 凡 称 呼 主 名 的 人 , 总 要 离 开 不 义 。 
    [kjv]  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity9.
    [bbe]  But God's strong base is unchanging, having this sign, The Lord has knowledge of those who are his: and, Let everyone by whom the name of the Lord is named be turned away from evil.
2:20 [hgb]  在 大 户 人 家 , 不 但 有 金 器 银 器 , 也 有 木 器 瓦 器 。 有 作 为 贵 重 的 , 有 作 为 卑 贱 的 。 
    [kjv]  But in a great house there are not only vessels11 of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour12.
    [bbe]  Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but others of wood and earth, and some which are honoured and some without honour.
2:21 [hgb]  人 若 自 洁 , 脱 离 卑 贱 的 事 , 就 必 作 贵 重 的 器 皿 , 成 为 圣 洁 , 合 乎 主 用 , 预 备 行 各 样 的 善 事 。 
    [kjv]  If a man therefore purge13 himself from these, he shall be a vessel10 unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
    [bbe]  If a man makes himself clean from these, he will be a vessel for honour, made holy, ready for the master's use, ready for every good work.
2:22 [hgb]  你 要 逃 避 少 年 的 私 欲 , 同 那 清 心 祷 告 主 的 人 追 求 公 义 , 信 德 , 仁 爱 , 和 平 。 
    [kjv]  Flee also youthful lusts14: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
    [bbe]  But keep yourself from those desires of the flesh which are strong when the body is young, and go after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those whose prayers go up to the Lord from a clean heart.
2:23 [hgb]  惟 有 那 愚 拙 无 学 问 的 辩 论 , 总 要 弃 绝 。 因 为 知 道 这 等 事 是 起 争 竞 的 。 
    [kjv]  But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender15 strifes.
    [bbe]  And put away foolish and uncontrolled questionings, seeing that they are a cause of trouble.
2:24 [hgb]  然 而 主 的 仆 人 不 可 争 竞 , 只 要 温 温 和 和 的 待 众 人 , 善 于 教 导 , 存 心 忍 耐 , 
    [kjv]  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
    [bbe]  For it is not right for the Lord's servant to make trouble, but he is to be gentle to all, ready in teaching, putting up with wrong,
2:25 [hgb]  用 温 柔 劝 戒 那 抵 挡 的 人 。 或 者 神 给 他 们 悔 改 的 心 , 可 以 明 白 真 道 。 
    [kjv]  In meekness16 instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance17 to the acknowledging of the truth;
    [bbe]  Gently guiding those who go against the teaching; if by chance God may give them a change of heart and true knowledge,
2:26 [hgb]  叫 他 们 这 已 经 被 魔 鬼 任 意 掳 去 的 , 可 以 醒 悟 , 脱 离 他 的 网 罗 。 
    [kjv]  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare18 of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
    [bbe]  And so they may get themselves free from the net of the Evil One, being made the prisoners of the Lord's servant, for the purpose of God.
