    [bbe]  Now these are the last words of David. David, the son of Jesse, says, the man who was lifted up on high, the man on whom the God of Jacob put the holy oil, the loved one of Israel's songs, says:
23:2 [hgb]  耶 和 华 的 灵 借 着 我 说 , 他 的 话 在 我 口 中 。 
    [kjv]  The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
    [bbe]  The spirit of the Lord had voice through me, his word was on my tongue.
23:3 [hgb]  以 色 列 的 神 , 以 色 列 的 磐 石 晓 谕 我 说 , 那 以 公 义 治 理 人 民 的 , 敬 畏 神 执 掌 权 柄 , 
    [kjv]  The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
    [bbe]  The God of Israel said, the word of the Rock of Israel came to me: When an upright king is ruling over men, when he is ruling in the fear of God,
23:4 [hgb]  他 必 像 日 出 的 晨 光 , 如 无 云 的 清 晨 , 雨 后 的 晴 光 , 使 地 发 生 嫩 草 。 
    [kjv]  And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
    [bbe]  It is as the light of the morning, when the sun comes up, a morning without clouds; making young grass come to life from the earth.
23:5 [hgb]  我 家 在 神 面 前 并 非 如 此 。 神 却 与 我 立 永 远 的 约 。 这 约 凡 事 坚 稳 , 关 乎 我 的 一 切 救 恩 和 我 一 切 所 想 望 的 , 他 岂 不 为 我 成 就 吗 ? 
    [kjv]  Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting1 covenant2, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation3, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
    [bbe]  For is not my house so with God? For he has made with me an eternal agreement, ordered in all things and certain: as for all my salvation and all my desire, will he not give it increase?
23:6 [hgb]  但 匪 类 都 必 像 荆 棘 被 丢 弃 。 人 不 敢 用 手 拿 它 。 
    [kjv]  But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
    [bbe]  But the evil-doers, all of them, will be like thorns to be pushed away, because they may not be gripped in the hand:
23:7 [hgb]  拿 它 的 人 必 带 铁 器 和 枪 杆 , 终 久 它 必 被 火 焚 烧 。 
    [kjv]  But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly4 burned with fire in the same place.
    [bbe]  But anyone touching5 them has to be armed with iron and the rod of a spear; and they will be burned with fire, every one of them.
23:8 [hgb]  大 卫 勇 士 的 名 字 记 在 下 面 , 他 革 扪 人 约 设 巴 设 , 又 称 伊 斯 尼 人 亚 底 挪 , 他 是 军 长 的 统 领 , 一 时 击 杀 了 八 百 人 。 
    [kjv]  These be the names of the mighty6 men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew7 at one time.
    [bbe]  These are the names of David's men of war: Ishbaal the Hachmonite, chief of the three; his axe8 was lifted up against eight hundred put to death at one time.
23:9 [hgb]  其 次 是 亚 合 人 朵 多 的 儿 子 以 利 亚 撒 。 从 前 非 利 士 人 聚 集 要 打 仗 , 以 色 列 人 迎 着 上 去 , 有 跟 随 大 卫 的 三 个 勇 士 向 非 利 士 人 骂 阵 , 其 中 有 以 利 亚 撒 。 
    [kjv]  And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines10 that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
    [bbe]  After him was Eleazar, the son of Dodai the Ahohite, one of the three great fighters, who was with David in Pas-dammim when the Philistines came together there for the fight; and when the men of Israel had gone in flight,
23:10 [hgb]  他 起 来 击 杀 非 利 士 人 , 直 到 手 臂 疲 乏 , 手 粘 住 刀 把 。 那 日 耶 和 华 使 以 色 列 人 大 获 全 胜 。 众 民 在 以 利 亚 撒 后 头 专 夺 财 物 。 
    [kjv]  He arose, and smote11 the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought12 a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
    [bbe]  He was with David and went on fighting the Philistines till his hand became tired and stiff from gripping his sword: and that day the Lord gave a great salvation, and the people came back after him only to take the goods of the Philistines.
23:11 [hgb]  其 次 是 哈 拉 人 亚 基 的 儿 子 沙 玛 。 一 日 , 非 利 士 人 聚 集 成 群 , 在 一 块 长 满 红 豆 的 田 里 , 众 民 就 在 非 利 士 人 面 前 逃 跑 。 
    [kjv]  And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
    [bbe]  After him was Shammah, the son of Ela the Hararite. And the Philistines came together in Lehi, where there was a bit of land full of seed; and the people went in flight from the Philistines.
23:12 [hgb]  沙 玛 却 站 在 那 田 间 击 杀 非 利 士 人 , 救 护 了 那 田 。 耶 和 华 使 以 色 列 人 大 获 全 胜 。 
    [kjv]  But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
    [bbe]  But he kept his place in the middle of the bit of land, and kept back their attack and overcame the Philistines: and the Lord gave a great salvation.
23:13 [hgb]  收 割 的 时 候 , 有 三 十 个 勇 士 中 的 三 个 人 下 到 亚 杜 兰 洞 见 大 卫 。 非 利 士 的 军 兵 在 利 乏 音 谷 安 营 。 
    [kjv]  And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
    [bbe]  And three of the thirty went down at the start of the grain-cutting, and they came to David at the strong place of Adullam; and the band of Philistines had taken up their position in the valley of Rephaim.
23:14 [hgb]  那 时 大 卫 在 山 寨 , 非 利 士 人 的 防 营 在 伯 利 恒 。 
    [kjv]  And David was then in an hold, and the garrison13 of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
    [bbe]  And at that time David had taken cover in the strong place, and an armed force of the Philistines was in Beth-lehem.
23:15 [hgb]  大 卫 渴 想 , 说 , 甚 愿 有 人 将 伯 利 恒 城 门 旁 , 井 里 的 水 打 来 给 我 喝 。 
    [kjv]  And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
    [bbe]  And David, moved by a strong desire, said, If only someone would give me a drink of water from the water-hole of Beth-lehem, by the doorway14 into the town!
23:16 [hgb]  这 三 个 勇 士 就 闯 过 非 利 士 人 的 营 盘 , 从 伯 利 恒 城 门 旁 的 井 里 打 水 , 拿 来 奉 给 大 卫 。 他 却 不 肯 喝 , 将 水 奠 在 耶 和 华 面 前 , 
    [kjv]  And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
    [bbe]  And the three men, forcing their way through the Philistine9 army, got water from the water-hole of Beth-lehem, by the doorway into the town, and took it back to David: but he would not take it, but, draining it out, made an offering of it to the Lord.
23:17 [hgb]  说 , 耶 和 华 阿 , 这 三 个 人 冒 死 去 打 水 。 这 水 好 像 他 们 的 血 一 般 , 我 断 不 敢 喝 。 如 此 , 大 卫 不 肯 喝 。 这 是 三 个 勇 士 所 作 的 事 。 
    [kjv]  And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy15 of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
    [bbe]  And he said, Far be it from me, O Lord, to do this; how may I take as my drink the life-blood of men who have put their lives in danger? So he would not take it. These things did the three great men of war.
23:18 [hgb]  洗 鲁 雅 的 儿 子 , 约 押 的 兄 弟 亚 比 筛 是 这 三 个 勇 士 的 首 领 。 他 举 枪 杀 了 三 百 人 , 就 在 三 个 勇 士 里 得 了 名 。 
    [kjv]  And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
    [bbe]  And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the thirty. He put to death three hundred with his spear, and he got for himself a name among the thirty.
23:19 [hgb]  他 在 这 三 个 勇 士 里 是 最 尊 贵 的 , 所 以 作 他 们 的 首 领 , 只 是 不 及 前 三 个 勇 士 。 
    [kjv]  Was he not most honourable16 of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained17 not unto the first three.
    [bbe]  Was he not the noblest of the thirty? so he was made their captain: but he was not equal to the first three.
23:20 [hgb]  有 甲 薛 勇 士 耶 何 耶 大 的 儿 子 比 拿 雅 行 过 大 能 的 事 。 他 杀 了 摩 押 人 亚 利 伊 勒 的 两 个 儿 子 , 又 在 下 雪 的 时 候 下 坑 里 去 , 杀 了 一 个 狮 子 , 
    [kjv]  And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant18 man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
    [bbe]  And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a fighting man of Kabzeel, had done great acts; he put to death the two sons of Ariel of Moab: he went down into a hole and put a lion to death in time of snow:
23:21 [hgb]  又 杀 了 一 个 强 壮 的 埃 及 人 。 埃 及 人 手 里 拿 着 枪 , 比 拿 雅 只 拿 着 棍 子 下 去 , 从 埃 及 人 手 里 夺 过 枪 来 , 用 那 枪 将 他 杀 死 。 
    [kjv]  And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
    [bbe]  And he made an attack on an Egyptian, a tall man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a stick, and pulling the spear out of the hands of the Egyptian, put him to death with that same spear.
23:22 [hgb]  这 是 耶 何 耶 大 的 儿 子 比 拿 雅 所 行 的 事 , 就 在 三 个 勇 士 里 得 了 名 。 
    [kjv]  These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
    [bbe]  These were the acts of Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, who had a great name among the thirty men of war.
23:23 [hgb]  他 比 那 三 十 个 勇 士 都 尊 贵 , 只 是 不 及 前 三 个 勇 士 。 大 卫 立 他 作 护 卫 长 。 
    [kjv]  He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
    [bbe]  He was honoured over the rest of the thirty, but he was not equal to the first three. And David put him over the fighting men who kept him safe.
