[kjv] But the children of Israel committed a trespass1 in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled2 against the children of Israel.
[bbe] But the children of Israel did wrong about the cursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the family of Judah, took of the cursed thing, moving the Lord to wrath3 against the children of Israel.
7:2 [hgb] 当 下 ， 约 书 亚 从 耶 利 哥 打 发 人 往 伯 特 利 东 边 ， 靠 近 伯 亚 文 的 艾 城 去 ， 吩 咐 他 们 说 ， 你 们 上 去 窥 探 那 地 。 他 们 就 上 去 窥 探 艾 城 。
[kjv] And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.
[bbe] Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is by the side of Beth-aven, on the east side of Beth-el, and said to them, Go up and make a search through the land. And the men went up and saw how Ai was placed.
7:3 [hgb] 他 们 回 到 约 书 亚 那 里 ， 对 他 说 ， 众 民 不 必 都 上 去 ， 只 要 二 三 千 人 上 去 就 能 攻 取 艾 城 。 不 必 劳 累 众 民 都 去 ， 因 为 那 里 的 人 少 。
[kjv] And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite4 Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither5; for they are but few.
[bbe] Then they came back to Joshua and said to him, Do not send all the people up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and make an attack on Ai; there is no need for all the people to be tired with the journey there, for it is only a small town.
7:4 [hgb] 于 是 民 中 约 有 三 千 人 上 那 里 去 ， 竟 在 艾 城 人 面 前 逃 跑 了 。
[kjv] So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.
[bbe] So about three thousand of the people went up, and were sent in flight by the men of Ai.
7:5 [hgb] 艾 城 的 人 击 杀 了 他 们 三 十 六 人 ， 从 城 门 前 追 赶 他 们 ， 直 到 示 巴 琳 ， 在 下 坡 杀 败 他 们 。 众 民 的 心 就 消 化 如 水 。
[kjv] And the men of Ai smote6 of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
[bbe] The men of Ai put to death about thirty-six of them, driving them from before the town as far as the stoneworks, and overcoming them on the way down: and the hearts of the people became like water.
7:6 [hgb] 约 书 亚 便 撕 裂 衣 服 。 他 和 以 色 列 的 长 老 把 灰 撒 在 头 上 ， 在 耶 和 华 的 约 柜 前 俯 伏 在 地 ， 直 到 晚 上 。
[kjv] And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.
[bbe] Then Joshua, in great grief, went down on the earth before the ark of the Lord till the evening, and all the chiefs of Israel with him, and they put dust on their heads.
7:7 [hgb] 约 书 亚 说 ， 哀 哉 。 主 耶 和 华 阿 ， 你 为 什 么 竟 领 这 百 姓 过 约 旦 河 ， 将 我 们 交 在 亚 摩 利 人 的 手 中 ， 使 我 们 灭 亡 呢 ？ 我 们 不 如 住 在 约 旦 河 那 边 倒 好 。
[kjv] And Joshua said, Alas7, O LORD God, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!
[bbe] And Joshua said, O Lord God, why have you taken us over Jordan only to give us up into the hands of the Amorites for our destruction? If only it had been enough for us to keep on the other side of Jordan!
7:8 [hgb] 主 阿 ， 以 色 列 人 既 在 仇 敌 面 前 转 背 逃 跑 ， 我 还 有 什 么 可 说 的 呢 ？
[kjv] O LORD, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies!
[bbe] O Lord, what am I to say now that Israel have given way before their attackers?
7:9 [hgb] 迦 南 人 和 这 地 一 切 的 居 民 听 见 了 就 必 围 困 我 们 ， 将 我 们 的 名 从 地 上 除 灭 。 那 时 你 为 你 的 大 名 要 怎 样 行 呢 ？
[kjv] For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt8 thou do unto thy great name?
[bbe] For when the news comes to the Canaanites and all the people of the land, they will come up, shutting us in and cutting off our name from the earth: and what will you do for the honour of your great name?
7:10 [hgb] 耶 和 华 吩 咐 约 书 亚 说 ， 起 来 。 你 为 何 这 样 俯 伏 在 地 呢 ？
[kjv] And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?
[bbe] Then the Lord said to Joshua, Get up; what are you doing with your face to the earth?
7:11 [hgb] 以 色 列 人 犯 了 罪 ， 违 背 了 我 所 吩 咐 他 们 的 约 ， 取 了 当 灭 的 物 。 又 偷 窃 ， 又 行 诡 诈 ， 又 把 那 当 灭 的 放 在 他 们 的 家 具 里 。
[kjv] Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed9 my covenant10 which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
[bbe] Israel has done wrong, sinning against the agreement which I made with them: they have even taken of the cursed thing; acting11 falsely like thieves they have put it among their goods.
7:12 [hgb] 因 此 ， 以 色 列 人 在 仇 敌 面 前 站 立 不 住 。 他 们 在 仇 敌 面 前 转 背 逃 跑 ， 是 因 成 了 被 咒 诅 的 。 你 们 若 不 把 当 灭 的 物 从 你 们 中 间 除 掉 ， 我 就 不 再 与 你 们 同 在 了 。
[kjv] Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.
[bbe] For this reason the children of Israel have given way, turning their backs in flight before their attackers, because they are cursed: I will no longer be with you, if you do not put the cursed thing away from among you.
7:13 [hgb] 你 起 来 ， 叫 百 姓 自 洁 ， 对 他 们 说 ， 你 们 要 自 洁 ， 预 备 明 天 ， 因 为 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 这 样 说 ， 以 色 列 阿 ， 你 们 中 间 有 当 灭 的 物 ， 你 们 若 不 除 掉 ， 在 仇 敌 面 前 必 站 立 不 住 。
[kjv] Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.
[bbe] Up! make the people holy; say to them, Make yourselves holy before tomorrow, for the Lord, the God of Israel, has said, There is a cursed thing among you, O Israel, and you will give way before your attackers in the fight till the cursed thing has been taken away from among you.
7:14 [hgb] 到 了 早 晨 ， 你 们 要 按 着 支 派 近 前 来 。 耶 和 华 所 取 的 支 派 ， 要 按 着 宗 族 近 前 来 。 耶 和 华 所 取 的 宗 族 ， 要 按 着 家 室 近 前 来 。 耶 和 华 所 取 的 家 室 ， 要 按 着 人 丁 ， 一 个 一 个 地 近 前 来 。
[kjv] In the morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORD taketh shall come according to the families thereof; and the family which the LORD shall take shall come by households; and the household which the LORD shall take shall come man by man.
[bbe] So in the morning you are to come near, tribe by tribe; and the tribe marked out by the Lord is to come near, family by family; and the family marked out by the Lord is to come near, house by house; and the house marked out by the Lord is to come near, man by man.
7:15 [hgb] 被 取 的 人 有 当 灭 的 物 在 他 那 里 ， 他 和 他 所 有 的 必 被 火 焚 烧 。 因 他 违 背 了 耶 和 华 的 约 ， 又 因 他 在 以 色 列 中 行 了 愚 妄 的 事 。
[kjv] And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought12 folly13 in Israel.
[bbe] Then the man who is taken with the cursed thing is to be burned, with everything which is his; because he has gone against the agreement of the Lord and has done an act of shame in Israel.
7:16 [hgb] 于 是 ， 约 书 亚 清 早 起 来 ， 使 以 色 列 人 按 着 支 派 近 前 来 ， 取 出 来 的 是 犹 大 支 派 。
[kjv] So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:
[bbe] So Joshua got up early in the morning, and made Israel come before him by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken;
7:17 [hgb] 使 犹 大 支 派 （ 原 文 作 宗 族 ） 近 前 来 ， 就 取 了 谢 拉 的 宗 族 。 使 谢 拉 的 宗 族 ， 按 着 家 室 人 丁 ， 一 个 一 个 地 近 前 来 ， 取 出 来 的 是 撒 底 。
[kjv] And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:
[bbe] Then he made Judah come forward, and the family of the Zerahites was taken; and he made the family of the Zerahites come forward man by man; and Zabdi was taken;
7:18 [hgb] 使 撒 底 的 家 室 ， 按 着 人 丁 ， 一 个 一 个 地 近 前 来 ， 就 取 出 犹 大 支 派 的 人 谢 拉 的 曾 孙 ， 撒 底 的 孙 子 ， 迦 米 的 儿 子 亚 干 。
[kjv] And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
[bbe] Then the house of Zabdi came forward man by man, and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
7:19 [hgb] 约 书 亚 对 亚 干 说 ， 我 儿 ， 我 劝 你 将 荣 耀 归 给 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 ， 在 他 面 前 认 罪 ， 将 你 所 作 的 事 告 诉 我 ， 不 要 向 我 隐 瞒 。
[kjv] And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession14 unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.
[bbe] And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give glory and praise to the Lord, the God of Israel; give me word now of what you have done, and keep nothing back from me.
7:20 [hgb] 亚 干 回 答 约 书 亚 说 ， 我 实 在 得 罪 了 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 。 我 所 作 的 事 如 此 如 此 ，
[kjv] And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:
[bbe] And Achan, answering, said to Joshua, Truly I have done wrong against the Lord, the God of Israel, and this is what I have done:
7:21 [hgb] 我 在 所 夺 的 财 物 中 看 见 一 件 美 好 的 示 拿 衣 服 ， 二 百 舍 客 勒 银 子 ， 一 条 金 子 重 五 十 舍 客 勒 ， 我 就 贪 爱 这 些 物 件 ， 便 拿 去 了 。 现 今 藏 在 我 帐 棚 内 的 地 里 ， 银 子 在 衣 服 底 下 。
[kjv] When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted15 them, and took them; and, behold16, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.
[bbe] When I saw among their goods a fair robe of Babylon and two hundred shekels of silver, and a mass of gold, fifty shekels in weight, I was overcome by desire and took them; and they are put away in the earth in my tent, and the silver is under it.
7:22 [hgb] 约 书 亚 就 打 发 人 跑 到 亚 干 的 帐 棚 里 。 那 件 衣 服 果 然 藏 在 他 帐 棚 内 ， 银 子 在 底 下 。
[kjv] So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.
[bbe] So Joshua sent men quickly, and looking in his tent, they saw where the robe had been put away secretly with the silver under it.
7:23 [hgb] 他 们 就 从 帐 棚 里 取 出 来 ， 拿 到 约 书 亚 和 以 色 列 众 人 那 里 ， 放 在 耶 和 华 面 前 。
[kjv] And they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD.
[bbe] And they took them from the tent and came back with them to Joshua and the children of Israel, and put them before the Lord.
7:24 [hgb] 约 书 亚 和 以 色 列 众 人 把 谢 拉 的 曾 孙 亚 干 和 那 银 子 ， 那 件 衣 服 ， 那 条 金 子 ， 并 亚 干 的 儿 女 ， 牛 ， 驴 ， 羊 ， 帐 棚 ， 以 及 他 所 有 的 ， 都 带 到 亚 割 谷 去 。
[kjv] And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses17, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor.
[bbe] Then Joshua and all Israel took Achan, the son of Zerah, and the silver and the robe and the mass of gold, and his sons and his daughters and his oxen and his asses and his sheep and his tent and everything he had; and they took them up into the valley of Achor.
7:25 [hgb] 约 书 亚 说 ， 你 为 什 么 连 累 我 们 呢 ？ 今 日 耶 和 华 必 叫 你 受 连 累 。 于 是 以 色 列 众 人 用 石 头 打 死 他 ， 将 石 头 扔 在 其 上 ， 又 用 火 焚 烧 他 所 有 的 （ 他 所 有 的 原 文 作 他 们 ） 。
[kjv] And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
[bbe] And Joshua said, Why have you been a cause of trouble to us? Today the Lord will send trouble on you. And all Israel took part in stoning him; they had him stoned to death and then burned with fire.
7:26 [hgb] 众 人 在 亚 干 身 上 堆 成 一 大 堆 石 头 ， 直 存 到 今 日 。 于 是 耶 和 华 转 意 ， 不 发 他 的 烈 怒 。 因 此 那 地 方 名 叫 亚 割 谷 ， 直 到 今 日 （ 亚 割 就 是 连 累 的 意 思 ） 。
[kjv] And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.
[bbe] And over him they put a great mass of stones, which is there to this day; then the heat of the Lord's wrath was turned away. So that place was named, The Valley of Achor, to this day.
