Chapter 14

14:1 [hgb]  以 色 列 人 在 迦 南 地 所 得 的 产 业 ， 就 是 祭 司 以 利 亚 撒 和 嫩 的 儿 子 约 书 亚 ， 并 以 色 列 各 支 派 的 族 长 所 分 给 他 们 的 ， 都 记 在 下 面 ， 
    [kjv]  And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun¹, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.
    [bbe]  And these are the heritages which the children of Israel took in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, gave out to them;
14:2 [hgb]  是 照 耶 和 华 借 摩 西 所 吩 咐 的 ， 把 产 业 拈 阄 分 给 九 个 半 支 派 。 
    [kjv]  By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.
    [bbe]  Their heritage by the Lord's decision, as he gave orders by Moses, for the nine tribes and the half-tribe.
14:3 [hgb]  原 来 ， 摩 西 在 约 旦 河 东 已 经 把 产 业 分 给 那 两 个 半 支 派 ， 只 是 在 他 们 中 间 没 有 把 产 业 分 给 利 未 人 。 
    [kjv]  For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.
    [bbe]  For Moses had given their heritage to the two tribes and the half-tribe on the other side of Jordan, but to the Levites he gave no heritage among them.
14:4 [hgb]  因 为 约 瑟 的 子 孙 是 两 个 支 派 ， 就 是 玛 拿 西 和 以 法 莲 ， 所 以 没 有 把 地 分 给 利 未 人 ， 但 给 他 们 城 邑 居 住 ， 并 城 邑 的 郊 野 ， 可 以 牧 养 他 们 的 牲 畜 ， 安 置 他 们 的 财 物 。 
    [kjv]  For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
    [bbe]  Because the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim; and they gave the Levites no part in the land, only towns for their living-places, with the grass-lands for their cattle and for their property.
14:5 [hgb]  耶 和 华 怎 样 吩 咐 摩 西 ， 以 色 列 人 就 照 样 行 ， 把 地 分 了 。 
    [kjv]  As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
    [bbe]  As the Lord had given orders to Moses, so the people of Israel did, and they made division of the land.
14:6 [hgb]  那 时 ， 犹 大 人 来 到 吉 甲 见 约 书 亚 ， 有 基 尼 洗 族 耶 孚 尼 的 儿 子 迦 勒 对 约 书 亚 说 ， 耶 和 华 在 加 低 斯 巴 尼 亚 指 着 我 与 你 对 神 人 摩 西 所 说 的 话 ， 你 都 知 道 了 。 
    [kjv]  Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.
    [bbe]  Then the children of Judah went to Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, said to him, You have knowledge of what the Lord said to Moses, the man of God, about me and about you in Kadesh-barnea.
14:7 [hgb]  耶 和 华 的 仆 人 摩 西 从 加 低 斯 巴 尼 亚 打 发 我 窥 探 这 地 ， 那 时 我 正 四 十 岁 。 我 按 着 心 意 回 报 他 。 
    [kjv]  Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy² out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
    [bbe]  I was forty years old when Moses, the servant of the Lord, sent me from Kadesh-barnea to make a search through the land; and the account which I gave him was in keeping with his desire.
14:8 [hgb]  然 而 ， 同 我 上 去 的 众 弟 兄 使 百 姓 的 心 消 化 。 但 我 专 心 跟 从 耶 和 华 我 的 神 。 
    [kjv]  Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
    [bbe]  My brothers, however, who went up with me, made the heart of the people like water: but I was true to the Lord with all my heart.
14:9 [hgb]  当 日 摩 西 起 誓 说 ， 你 脚 所 踏 之 地 定 要 归 你 和 你 的 子 孙 永 远 为 业 ， 因 为 你 专 心 跟 从 耶 和 华 我 的 神 。 
    [kjv]  And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
    [bbe]  And on that day Moses took an oath, saying, Truly the land where your feet have been placed will become a heritage for you and your children for ever, because you have been true to the Lord your God with all your heart.
14:10 [hgb]  自 从 耶 和 华 对 摩 西 说 这 话 的 时 候 ， 耶 和 华 照 他 所 应 许 的 使 我 存 活 这 四 十 五 年 。 其 间 以 色 列 人 在 旷 野 行 走 。 看 哪 ， 现 今 我 八 十 五 岁 了 ， 
    [kjv]  And now, behold³, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness⁴: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
    [bbe]  And now, as you see, the Lord has kept me safe these forty-five years, from the time when the Lord said this to Moses, while Israel was wandering in the waste land: and now I am eighty-five years old.
14:11 [hgb]  我 还 是 强 壮 ， 像 摩 西 打 发 我 去 的 那 天 一 样 。 无 论 是 争 战 ， 是 出 入 ， 我 的 力 量 那 时 如 何 ， 现 在 还 是 如 何 。 
    [kjv]  As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
    [bbe]  And still, I am as strong today as I was when Moses sent me out: as my strength was then, so is it now, for war and for all the business of life.
14:12 [hgb]  求 你 将 耶 和 华 那 日 应 许 我 的 这 山 地 给 我 。 那 里 有 亚 衲 族 人 ， 并 宽 大 坚 固 的 城 ， 你 也 曾 听 见 了 。 或 者 耶 和 华 照 他 所 应 许 的 与 我 同 在 ， 我 就 把 他 们 赶 出 去 。 
    [kjv]  Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
    [bbe]  So now, give me this hill-country named by the Lord at that time; for you had an account of it then, how the Anakim were there, and great walled towns: it may be that the Lord will be with me, and I will be able to take their land, as the Lord said.
14:13 [hgb]  于 是 约 书 亚 为 耶 孚 尼 的 儿 子 迦 勒 祝 福 ， 将 希 伯 仑 给 他 为 业 。 
    [kjv]  And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
    [bbe]  And Joshua gave him his blessing⁵; and he gave Hebron to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, for his heritage.
14:14 [hgb]  所 以 希 伯 仑 作 了 基 尼 洗 族 耶 孚 尼 的 儿 子 迦 勒 的 产 业 ， 直 到 今 日 ， 因 为 他 专 心 跟 从 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 。 
    [kjv]  Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.
    [bbe]  So Hebron became the heritage of Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, to this day, because with all his heart he was true to the Lord, the God of Israel.
14:15 [hgb]  希 伯 仑 从 前 名 叫 基 列 亚 巴 。 亚 巴 是 亚 衲 族 中 最 尊 大 的 人 。 于 是 国 中 太 平 ， 没 有 争 战 了 。 
    [kjv]  And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
    [bbe]  In earlier times the name of Hebron had been Kiriath-arba, named after Arba, the greatest of the Anakim. And the land had rest from war.
