1:1 [hgb]  以 下 所 记 的 , 是 摩 西 在 约 旦 河 东 的 旷 野 , 疏 弗 对 面 的 亚 拉 巴 , 就 是 巴 兰 , 陀 弗 , 拉 班 , 哈 洗 录 , 底 撒 哈 中 间 , 向 以 色 列 众 人 所 说 的 话 。 
    [kjv]  These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness1, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
    [bbe]  These are the words which Moses said to all Israel on the far side of Jordan, in the waste land in the Arabah opposite Suph, between Paran on the one side, and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab on the other.
1:2 [hgb]  从 何 烈 山 经 过 西 珥 山 , 到 加 低 斯 巴 尼 亚 , 有 十 一 天 的 路 程 。 
    [kjv]  (There are eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadeshbarnea.)
    [bbe]  It is eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea.
1:3 [hgb]  出 埃 及 第 四 十 年 , 十 一 月 初 一 日 , 摩 西 照 耶 和 华 借 着 他 所 吩 咐 以 色 列 人 的 话 , 都 晓 谕 他 们 。 
    [kjv]  And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in commandment unto them;
    [bbe]  Now in the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses gave to the children of Israel all the orders which the Lord had given him for them;
1:4 [hgb]  那 时 , 他 已 经 击 杀 了 住 希 实 本 的 亚 摩 利 王 西 宏 , 和 住 以 得 来 , 亚 斯 他 录 的 巴 珊 王 噩 。 
    [kjv]  After he had slain2 Sihon the king of the Amorites, which dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, which dwelt at Astaroth in Edrei:
    [bbe]  After he had overcome Sihon, king of the Amorites, ruling in Heshbon, and Og, king of Bashan, ruling in Ashtaroth, at Edrei:
1:5 [hgb]  摩 西 在 约 旦 河 东 的 摩 押 地 讲 律 法 说 , 
    [kjv]  On this side Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this law, saying,
    [bbe]  On the far side of Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses gave the people this law, saying,
1:6 [hgb]  耶 和 华 我 们 的 神 在 何 烈 山 晓 谕 我 们 说 , 你 们 在 这 山 上 住 的 日 子 够 了 。 
    [kjv]  The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:
    [bbe]  The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, You have been long enough in this mountain:
1:7 [hgb]  要 起 行 转 到 亚 摩 利 人 的 山 地 和 靠 近 这 山 地 的 各 处 , 就 是 亚 拉 巴 , 山 地 , 高 原 , 南 地 , 沿 海 一 带 迦 南 人 的 地 , 并 利 巴 嫩 山 又 到 伯 拉 大 河 。 
    [kjv]  Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
    [bbe]  Make a move now, and go on your way into the hill-country of the Amorites and the places near it, in the Arabah and the hill-country and in the lowlands and in the South and by the seaside, all the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.
1:8 [hgb]  如 今 我 将 这 地 摆 在 你 们 面 前 。 你 们 要 进 去 得 这 地 , 就 是 耶 和 华 向 你 们 列 祖 亚 伯 拉 罕 , 以 撒 , 雅 各 起 誓 应 许 赐 给 他 们 和 他 们 后 裔 为 业 之 地 。 
    [kjv]  Behold3, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.
    [bbe]  See, all the land is before you: go in and take for yourselves the land which the Lord gave by an oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their seed after them.
1:9 [hgb]  那 时 , 我 对 你 们 说 , 管 理 你 们 的 重 任 , 我 独 自 担 当 不 起 。 
    [kjv]  And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:
    [bbe]  At that time I said to you, I am not able to undertake the care of you by myself;
1:10 [hgb]  耶 和 华 你 们 的 神 使 你 们 多 起 来 。 看 哪 , 你 们 今 日 像 天 上 的 星 那 样 多 。 
    [kjv]  The LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.
    [bbe]  The Lord your God has given you increase, and now you are like the stars of heaven in number.
1:11 [hgb]  惟 愿 耶 和 华 你 们 列 祖 的 神 使 你 们 比 如 今 更 多 千 倍 , 照 他 所 应 许 你 们 的 话 赐 福 与 你 们 。 
    [kjv]  (The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)
    [bbe]  May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times greater in number than you are, and give you his blessing4 as he has said!
1:12 [hgb]  但 你 们 的 麻 烦 , 和 管 理 你 们 的 重 任 , 并 你 们 的 争 讼 , 我 独 自 一 人 怎 能 担 当 得 起 呢 ? 
    [kjv]  How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife5?
    [bbe]  How is it possible for me by myself to be responsible for you, and undertake the weight of all your troubles and your arguments?
1:13 [hgb]  你 们 要 按 着 各 支 派 选 举 有 智 慧 , 有 见 识 , 为 众 人 所 认 识 的 , 我 立 他 们 为 你 们 的 首 领 。 
    [kjv]  Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
    [bbe]  Take for yourselves men who are wise, far-seeing, and respected among you, from your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
1:14 [hgb]  你 们 回 答 我 说 , 照 你 所 说 的 行 了 为 妙 。 
    [kjv]  And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is good for us to do.
    [bbe]  And you made answer and said to me, It is good for us to do as you say.
1:15 [hgb]  我 便 将 你 们 各 支 派 的 首 领 , 有 智 慧 , 为 众 人 所 认 识 的 , 照 你 们 的 支 派 , 立 他 们 为 官 长 , 千 夫 长 , 百 夫 长 , 五 十 夫 长 , 十 夫 长 , 管 理 你 们 。 
    [kjv]  So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.
    [bbe]  So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men and respected, and made them rulers over you, captains of thousands and captains of hundreds and captains of fifties and captains of tens, and overseers of your tribes.
1:16 [hgb]  当 时 , 我 嘱 咐 你 们 的 审 判 官 说 , 你 们 听 讼 , 无 论 是 弟 兄 彼 此 争 讼 , 是 与 同 居 的 外 人 争 讼 , 都 要 按 公 义 判 断 。 
    [kjv]  And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.
    [bbe]  And at that time I gave orders to your judges, saying, Let all questions between your brothers come before you for hearing, and give decisions uprightly between a man and his brother or one from another nation who is with him.
1:17 [hgb]  审 判 的 时 候 , 不 可 看 人 的 外 貌 。 听 讼 不 可 分 贵 贱 , 不 可 惧 怕 人 , 因 为 审 判 是 属 乎 神 的 。 若 有 难 断 的 案 件 , 可 以 呈 到 我 这 里 , 我 就 判 断 。 
    [kjv]  Ye shall not respect persons in judgment6; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.
    [bbe]  In judging, do not let a man's position have any weight with you; give hearing equally to small and great; have no fear of any man, for it is God who is judge: and any cause in which you are not able to give a decision, you are to put before me and I will give it a hearing.
1:18 [hgb]  那 时 , 我 将 你 们 所 当 行 的 事 都 吩 咐 你 们 了 。 
    [kjv]  And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.
    [bbe]  And at that time I gave you all the orders which you were to do.
1:19 [hgb]  我 们 照 着 耶 和 华 我 们 神 所 吩 咐 的 从 何 烈 山 起 行 , 经 过 你 们 所 看 见 那 大 而 可 怕 的 旷 野 , 往 亚 摩 利 人 的 山 地 去 , 到 了 加 低 斯 巴 尼 亚 。 
    [kjv]  And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadeshbarnea.
    [bbe]  Then we went on from Horeb, through all that great and cruel waste which you saw, on our way to the hill-country of the Amorites, as the Lord gave us orders; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.
1:20 [hgb]  我 对 你 们 说 , 你 们 已 经 到 了 耶 和 华 我 们 神 所 赐 给 我 们 的 亚 摩 利 人 之 山 地 。 
    [kjv]  And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us.
    [bbe]  And I said to you, You have come to the hill-country of the Amorites, which the Lord our God is giving us.
1:21 [hgb]  看 哪 , 耶 和 华 你 的 神 已 将 那 地 摆 在 你 面 前 , 你 要 照 耶 和 华 你 列 祖 的 神 所 说 的 上 去 得 那 地 为 业 。 不 要 惧 怕 , 也 不 要 惊 惶 。 
    [kjv]  Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.
    [bbe]  See now, the Lord your God has put the land into your hands: go up and take it, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has said to you; have no fear and do not be troubled.
1:22 [hgb]  你 们 都 就 近 我 来 说 , 我 们 要 先 打 发 人 去 , 为 我 们 窥 探 那 地 , 将 我 们 上 去 该 走 何 道 , 必 进 何 城 , 都 回 报 我 们 。 
    [kjv]  And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
    [bbe]  And you came near to me, every one of you, and said, Let us send men before us to go through the land with care and give us an account of the way we are to go and the towns to which we will come.
1:23 [hgb]  这 话 我 以 为 美 , 就 从 你 们 中 间 选 了 十 二 个 人 , 每 支 派 一 人 。 
    [kjv]  And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:
    [bbe]  And what you said seemed good to me, and I took twelve men from among you, one from every tribe;
1:24 [hgb]  于 是 他 们 起 身 上 山 地 去 , 到 以 实 各 谷 , 窥 探 那 地 。 
    [kjv]  And they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and searched it out.
    [bbe]  And they went up into the hill-country and came to the valley of Eshcol, and saw what was there.
1:25 [hgb]  他 们 手 里 拿 着 那 地 的 果 子 下 来 , 到 我 们 那 里 , 回 报 说 , 耶 和 华 我 们 的 神 所 赐 给 我 们 的 是 美 地 。 
    [kjv]  And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God doth give us.
    [bbe]  And taking in their hands some of the fruit of the land, they came down again to us, and gave us their account, saying, It is a good land which the Lord our God is giving us.
1:26 [hgb]  你 们 却 不 肯 上 去 , 竟 违 背 了 耶 和 华 你 们 神 的 命 令 , 
    [kjv]  Notwithstanding ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God:
    [bbe]  But going against the order of the Lord your God, you would not go up:
1:27 [hgb]  在 帐 棚 内 发 怨 言 说 , 耶 和 华 因 为 恨 我 们 , 所 以 将 我 们 从 埃 及 地 领 出 来 , 要 交 在 亚 摩 利 人 手 中 , 除 灭 我 们 。 
    [kjv]  And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth7 out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
    [bbe]  And you made an angry outcry in your tents, and said, In his hate for us the Lord has taken us out of the land of Egypt, to give us up into the hands of the Amorites for our destruction.
1:28 [hgb]  我 们 上 哪 里 去 呢 ? 我 们 的 弟 兄 使 我 们 的 心 消 化 , 说 那 地 的 民 比 我 们 又 大 又 高 , 城 邑 又 广 大 又 坚 固 , 高 得 顶 天 , 并 且 我 们 在 那 里 看 见 亚 衲 族 的 人 。 
    [kjv]  Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.
    [bbe]  Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our hearts feeble with fear by saying, The people are greater and taller than we are, and the towns are great and walled up to heaven; and more than this, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.
1:29 [hgb]  我 就 对 你 们 说 , 不 要 惊 恐 , 也 不 要 怕 他 们 。 
    [kjv]  Then I said unto you, Dread8 not, neither be afraid of them.
    [bbe]  Then I said to you, Have no fear of them.
1:30 [hgb]  在 你 们 前 面 行 的 耶 和 华 你 们 的 神 必 为 你 们 争 战 , 正 如 他 在 埃 及 和 旷 野 , 在 你 们 眼 前 所 行 的 一 样 。 
    [kjv]  The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
    [bbe]  The Lord your God who goes before you will be fighting for you, and will do such wonders as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
1:31 [hgb]  你 们 在 旷 野 所 行 的 路 上 , 也 曾 见 耶 和 华 你 们 的 神 抚 养 你 们 , 如 同 人 抚 养 儿 子 一 般 , 直 等 你 们 来 到 这 地 方 。 
    [kjv]  And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.
    [bbe]  And in the waste land, where you have seen how the Lord was supporting you, as a man does his son, in all your journeying till you came to this place.
1:32 [hgb]  你 们 在 这 事 上 却 不 信 耶 和 华 你 们 的 神 。 
    [kjv]  Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God,
    [bbe]  But for all this, you had no faith in the Lord your God,
1:33 [hgb]  他 在 路 上 , 在 你 们 前 面 行 , 为 你 们 找 安 营 的 地 方 。 夜 间 在 火 柱 里 , 日 间 在 云 柱 里 , 指 示 你 们 所 当 行 的 路 。 
    [kjv]  Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.
    [bbe]  Who goes before you on your way, looking for a place where you may put up your tents, in fire by night, lighting9 up the way you are to go, and in a cloud by day.
1:34 [hgb]  耶 和 华 听 见 你 们 这 话 , 就 发 怒 , 起 誓 说 , 
    [kjv]  And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,
    [bbe]  And the Lord, hearing your words, was angry, and said with an oath,
1:35 [hgb]  这 恶 世 代 的 人 , 连 一 个 也 不 得 见 我 起 誓 应 许 赐 给 你 们 列 祖 的 美 地 。 
    [kjv]  Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,
    [bbe]  Truly, not one of this evil generation will see that good land which I said I would give to your fathers,
1:36 [hgb]  惟 有 耶 孚 尼 的 儿 子 迦 勒 必 得 看 见 , 并 且 我 要 将 他 所 踏 过 的 地 赐 给 他 和 他 的 子 孙 , 因 为 他 专 心 跟 从 我 。 
    [kjv]  Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.
    [bbe]  But only Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, he will see it; and to him and to his children I will give the land over which his feet have gone, because he has been true to the Lord with all his heart.
1:37 [hgb]  耶 和 华 为 你 的 缘 故 也 向 我 发 怒 , 说 , 你 必 不 得 进 入 那 地 。 
    [kjv]  Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither10.
    [bbe]  And, in addition, the Lord was angry with me because of you, saying, You yourself will not go into it:
1:38 [hgb]  伺 候 你 , 嫩 的 儿 子 约 书 亚 , 他 必 得 进 入 那 地 。 你 要 勉 励 他 , 因 为 他 要 使 以 色 列 人 承 受 那 地 为 业 。 
    [kjv]  But Joshua the son of Nun11, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
    [bbe]  Joshua, the son of Nun, your servant, he will go into the land: say to him that he is to be strong, for he will be Israel's guide into their heritage.
1:39 [hgb]  并 且 你 们 的 妇 人 孩 子 , 就 是 你 们 所 说 , 必 被 掳 掠 的 , 和 今 日 不 知 善 恶 的 儿 女 , 必 进 入 那 地 。 我 要 将 那 地 赐 给 他 们 , 他 们 必 得 为 业 。 
    [kjv]  Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey12, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
    [bbe]  And your little ones, who, you said, would come into strange hands, your children, who now have no knowledge of good or evil, they will go into that land, and to them I will give it and it will be theirs.
1:40 [hgb]  至 于 你 们 , 要 转 回 , 从 红 海 的 路 往 旷 野 去 。 
    [kjv]  But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
    [bbe]  But as for you, go back, journeying into the waste land by the way of the Red Sea.
1:41 [hgb]  那 时 , 你 们 回 答 我 说 , 我 们 得 罪 了 耶 和 华 , 情 愿 照 耶 和 华 我 们 神 一 切 所 吩 咐 的 上 去 争 战 。 于 是 你 们 各 人 带 着 兵 器 , 争 先 上 山 地 去 了 。 
    [kjv]  Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill.
    [bbe]  Then you said to me, We have done evil against the Lord, we will go up to the attack, as the Lord our God has given us orders. And arming yourselves every one, you made ready to go up without care into the hill-country.
1:42 [hgb]  耶 和 华 吩 咐 我 说 , 你 对 他 们 说 , 不 要 上 去 , 也 不 要 争 战 。 因 我 不 在 你 们 中 间 , 恐 怕 你 们 被 仇 敌 杀 败 了 。 
    [kjv]  And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten13 before your enemies.
    [bbe]  And the Lord said to me, Say to them, Do not go up to the attack; for I am not among you, and you will be overcome by those who are against you.
1:43 [hgb]  我 就 告 诉 了 你 们 , 你 们 却 不 听 从 , 竟 违 背 耶 和 华 的 命 令 , 擅 自 上 山 地 去 了 。 
    [kjv]  So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously14 up into the hill.
    [bbe]  This I said to you, but you gave no attention and went against the orders of the Lord, and in your pride went up into the hill-country.
1:44 [hgb]  住 那 山 地 的 亚 摩 利 人 就 出 来 攻 击 你 们 , 追 赶 你 们 , 如 蜂 拥 一 般 , 在 西 珥 杀 退 你 们 , 直 到 何 珥 玛 。 
    [kjv]  And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah.
    [bbe]  And the Amorites who were in the hill-country came out against you and put you to flight, rushing after you like bees, and overcame you in Seir, driving you even as far as Hormah.
1:45 [hgb]  你 们 便 回 来 , 在 耶 和 华 面 前 哭 号 。 耶 和 华 却 不 听 你 们 的 声 音 , 也 不 向 你 们 侧 耳 。 
    [kjv]  And ye returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you.
    [bbe]  And you came back, weeping before the Lord; but the Lord gave no attention to your cries and did not give ear to you.
1:46 [hgb]  于 是 你 们 在 加 低 斯 住 了 许 多 日 子 。 
    [kjv]  So ye abode15 in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there.
    [bbe]  So you were kept waiting in Kadesh for a long time.
