[kjv]  Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous1 city: thy slain2 men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
[bbe]  You, who are full of loud voices, a town of outcries, given up to joy; your dead men have not been put to the sword, or come to their death in war.
[kjv]  All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers3: all that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.
[bbe]  All your rulers ... have gone in flight; all your strong ones have gone far away.
[kjv]  Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

[kjv]  For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.
[bbe]  For it is a day of trouble and of crushing down and of destruction from the Lord, the Lord of armies, in the valley of vision; ...

[kjv]  And it shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.

[kjv]  Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker7 thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.
[bbe]  And you made a place between the two walls for storing the waters of the old pool: but you gave no thought to him who had done this, and were not looking to him by whom it had been purposed long before.

[kjv]  And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
[bbe]  And in that day the Lord, the Lord of armies, was looking for weeping, and cries of sorrow, cutting off of the hair, and putting on the clothing of grief:
22:13 [hgb]  谁 知 , 人 倒 欢 喜 快 乐 , 宰 牛 杀 羊 , 吃 肉 喝 酒 , 说 , 我 们 吃 喝 吧 , 因 为 明 天 要 死 了 。
[kjv]  And behold8 joy and gladness, slaying9 oxen, and killing10 sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.
[bbe]  But in place of these there was joy and delight, oxen and sheep were being made ready for food, there was feasting and drinking: men said, Now is the time for food and wine, for tomorrow death comes.

[kjv]  And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity11 shall not be purged12 from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

[kjv]  What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed14 thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?

[kjv]  Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty15 captivity16, and will surely cover thee.
[bbe]  See, O strong man, the Lord will send you violently away, gripping you with force,
