[bbe] Now these are the words of the letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the responsible men among those who had been taken away, and to the priests and the prophets and to all the rest of the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken away prisoners from Jerusalem to Babylon;

29:3 [hgb] 他 借 沙 番 的 儿 子 以 利 亚 萨 和 希 勒 家 的 儿 子 基 玛 利 的 手 寄 去 。 他 们 二 人 是 犹 大 王 西 底 家 打 发 往 巴 比 伦 去 见 尼 布 甲 尼 撒 王 的 。
[kjv] By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying,

29:4 [hgb] 信 上 说 ， 万 军 之 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 ， 对 一 切 被 掳 去 的 ， 就 是 我 使 他 们 从 耶 路 撒 冷 被 掳 到 巴 比 伦 的 人 ， 如 此 说 ，
[kjv] Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;
[bbe] This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said to all those whom I have taken away prisoners from Jerusalem to Babylon:
29:5 [hgb] 你 们 要 盖 造 房 屋 ， 住 在 其 中 。 栽 种 田 园 ， 吃 其 中 所 产 的 。
[kjv] Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;
[bbe] Go on building houses and living in them, and planting gardens and using the fruit of them;
29:6 [hgb] 娶 妻 生 儿 女 ， 为 你 们 的 儿 子 娶 妻 ， 使 你 们 的 女 儿 嫁 人 ， 生 儿 养 女 。 在 那 里 生 养 众 多 ， 不 至 减 少 。
[kjv] Take ye wives, and beget2 sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.
[bbe] Take wives and have sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may have sons and daughters; and be increased in number there and do not become less.
29:7 [hgb] 我 所 使 你 们 被 掳 到 的 那 城 ， 你 们 要 为 那 城 求 平 安 ， 为 那 城 祷 告 耶 和 华 。 因 为 那 城 得 平 安 ， 你 们 也 随 着 得 平 安 。
[kjv] And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
[bbe] And be working for the peace of the land to which I have had you taken away prisoners, and make prayer to the Lord for it: for in its peace you will have peace.
29:8 [hgb] 万 军 之 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 如 此 说 ， 不 要 被 你 们 中 间 的 先 知 和 占 卜 的 诱 惑 ， 也 不 要 听 信 自 己 所 作 的 梦 。
[kjv] For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
[bbe] For this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said: Do not let yourselves be tricked by the prophets who are among you, and the readers of signs, and give no attention to their dreams which they may have;
29:9 [hgb] 因 为 他 们 托 我 的 名 对 你 们 说 假 预 言 ， 我 并 没 有 差 遣 他 们 。 这 是 耶 和 华 说 的 。
[kjv] For they prophesy3 falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.
[bbe] For they are saying to you what is false in my name: I have not sent them, says the Lord.
29:10 [hgb] 耶 和 华 如 此 说 ， 为 巴 比 伦 所 定 的 七 十 年 满 了 以 后 ， 我 要 眷 顾 你 们 ， 向 你 们 成 就 我 的 恩 言 ， 使 你 们 仍 回 此 地 。
[kjv] For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished4 at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
[bbe] For this is what the Lord has said: When seventy years are ended for Babylon, I will have pity on you and give effect to my good purpose for you, causing you to come back to this place.
29:11 [hgb] 耶 和 华 说 ， 我 知 道 我 向 你 们 所 怀 的 意 念 是 赐 平 安 的 意 念 ， 不 是 降 灾 祸 的 意 念 ， 要 叫 你 们 末 后 有 指 望 。
[kjv] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
[bbe] For I am conscious of my thoughts about you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope at the end.
29:12 [hgb] 你 们 要 呼 求 我 ， 祷 告 我 ， 我 就 应 允 你 们 。
[kjv] Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
[bbe] And you will go on crying to me and making prayer to me, and I will give ear to you.
29:13 [hgb] 你 们 寻 求 我 ， 若 专 心 寻 求 我 ， 就 必 寻 见 。
[kjv] And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
[bbe] And you will be searching for me and I will be there, when you have gone after me with all your heart.
29:14 [hgb] 耶 和 华 说 ， 我 必 被 你 们 寻 见 ， 我 也 必 使 你 们 被 掳 的 人 归 回 ， 将 你 们 从 各 国 中 和 我 所 赶 你 们 到 的 各 处 招 聚 了 来 ， 又 将 你 们 带 回 我 使 你 们 被 掳 掠 离 开 的 地 方 。 这 是 耶 和 华 说 的 。
[kjv] And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity5, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
[bbe] I will be near you again, says the Lord, and your fate will be changed, and I will get you together from all the nations and from all the places where I had sent you away, says the Lord; and I will take you back again to the place from which I sent you away prisoners.
29:15 [hgb] 你 们 说 ， 耶 和 华 在 巴 比 伦 为 我 们 兴 起 先 知 。
[kjv] Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;
[bbe] For you have said, The Lord has given us prophets in Babylon.
29:16 [hgb] 所 以 耶 和 华 论 到 坐 大 卫 宝 座 的 王 和 住 在 这 城 里 的 一 切 百 姓 ， 就 是 未 曾 与 你 们 一 同 被 掳 的 弟 兄 ，
[kjv] Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth6 with you into captivity;
[bbe] For this is what the Lord has said about the king who is seated on the seat of David's kingdom, and about all the people living in this town, your countrymen who have not gone out with you as prisoners;
29:17 [hgb] 万 军 之 耶 和 华 如 此 说 ， 看 哪 ， 我 必 使 刀 剑 ， 饥 荒 ， 瘟 疫 临 到 他 们 ， 使 他 们 像 极 坏 的 无 花 果 ， 坏 得 不 可 吃 。
[kjv] Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold7, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence8, and will make them like vile9 figs10, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
[bbe] This is what the Lord of armies has said: See, I will send on them the sword and need of food and disease, and will make them like bad figs, which are of no use for food, they are so bad.
29:18 [hgb] 我 必 用 刀 剑 ， 饥 荒 ， 瘟 疫 追 赶 他 们 ， 使 他 们 在 天 下 万 国 抛 来 抛 去 ， 在 我 所 赶 他 们 到 的 各 国 中 ， 令 人 咒 诅 ， 惊 骇 ， 嗤 笑 ， 羞 辱 。
[kjv] And I will persecute11 them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment12, and an hissing13, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:
[bbe] I will go after them, attacking them with the sword and with need of food and with disease, and will make them a cause of fear to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse and a wonder and a surprise and a name of shame among all the nations where I have sent them:
29:19 [hgb] 耶 和 华 说 ， 这 是 因 为 他 们 没 有 听 从 我 的 话 ， 就 是 我 从 早 起 来 差 遣 我 仆 人 众 先 知 去 说 的 ， 无 奈 他 们 不 听 。 这 是 耶 和 华 说 的 。
[kjv] Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.
[bbe] Because they have not given ear to my words, says the Lord, when I sent to them my servants the prophets, getting up early and sending them; but you did not give ear, says the Lord.
29:20 [hgb] 所 以 你 们 一 切 被 掳 去 的 ， 就 是 我 从 耶 路 撒 冷 打 发 到 巴 比 伦 去 的 ， 当 听 耶 和 华 的 话 。
[kjv] Hear ye therefore the word of the LORD, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon:
[bbe] And now, give ear to the word of the Lord, all you whom I have sent away prisoners from Jerusalem to Babylon.
29:21 [hgb] 万 军 之 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 论 到 哥 赖 雅 的 儿 子 亚 哈 ， 并 玛 西 雅 的 儿 子 西 底 家 ， 如 此 说 ， 他 们 是 托 我 名 向 你 们 说 假 预 言 的 ， 我 必 将 他 们 交 在 巴 比 伦 王 尼 布 甲 尼 撒 的 手 中 。 他 要 在 你 们 眼 前 杀 害 他 们 。
[kjv] Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay14 them before your eyes;
[bbe] This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said about Ahab, the son of Kolaiah, and about Zedekiah, the son of Maaseiah, who are saying to you what is false in my name: See, I will give them up into the hands of Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, and he will put them to death before your eyes.
29:22 [hgb] 住 巴 比 伦 一 切 被 掳 的 犹 大 人 必 借 这 二 人 赌 咒 说 ， 愿 耶 和 华 使 你 像 巴 比 伦 王 在 火 中 烧 的 西 底 家 和 亚 哈 一 样 。
[kjv] And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, The LORD make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;
[bbe] And their fate will be used as a curse by all the prisoners of Judah who are in Babylon, who will say, May the Lord make you like Zedekiah and like Ahab, who were burned in the fire by the king of Babylon;
29:23 [hgb] 这 二 人 是 在 以 色 列 中 行 了 丑 事 ， 与 邻 舍 的 妻 行 淫 ， 又 假 托 我 名 说 我 未 曾 吩 咐 他 们 的 话 。 知 道 的 是 我 ， 作 见 证 的 也 是 我 。 这 是 耶 和 华 说 的 。
[kjv] Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.
[bbe] Because they have done shame in Israel, and have taken their neighbours' wives, and in my name have said false words, which I did not give them orders to say; and I myself am the witness, says the Lord.
29:24 [hgb] 论 到 尼 希 兰 人 示 玛 雅 ， 你 当 说 ，
[kjv] Thus shalt thou also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
[bbe] About Shemaiah the Nehelamite.
29:25 [hgb] 万 军 之 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 如 此 说 ， 你 曾 用 自 己 的 名 寄 信 给 耶 路 撒 冷 的 众 民 和 祭 司 玛 西 雅 的 儿 子 西 番 雅 ， 并 众 祭 司 ， 说 ，
[kjv] Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
[bbe] Shemaiah the Nehelamite sent a letter in his name to Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
29:26 [hgb] 耶 和 华 已 经 立 你 西 番 雅 为 祭 司 ， 代 替 祭 司 耶 何 耶 大 ， 使 耶 和 华 殿 中 有 官 长 ， 好 将 一 切 狂 妄 自 称 为 先 知 的 人 用 枷 枷 住 ， 用 锁 锁 住 。
[kjv] The LORD hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks.
[bbe] The Lord has made you priest in place of Jehoiada the priest, to be an overseer in the house of the Lord for every man who is off his head and is acting15 as a prophet, to put such men in prison and in chains.
29:27 [hgb] 现 在 亚 拿 突 人 耶 利 米 向 你 们 自 称 为 先 知 ， 你 们 为 何 没 有 责 备 他 呢 ？
[kjv] Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you?
[bbe] So why have you made no protest against Jeremiah of Anathoth, who is acting as a prophet to you?
29:28 [hgb] 因 为 他 寄 信 给 我 们 在 巴 比 伦 的 人 说 ， 被 掳 的 事 必 长 久 。 你 们 要 盖 造 房 屋 ， 住 在 其 中 。 栽 种 田 园 ， 吃 其 中 所 产 的 。
[kjv] For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
[bbe] For he has sent to us in Babylon saying, The time will be long: go on building houses and living in them, and planting gardens and using the fruit of them.
29:29 [hgb] 祭 司 西 番 雅 就 把 这 信 念 给 先 知 耶 利 米 听 。
[kjv] And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
[bbe] And Zephaniah the priest made clear to Jeremiah the prophet what was said in the letter, reading it to him.
29:30 [hgb] 于 是 耶 和 华 的 话 临 到 耶 利 米 说 ，
[kjv] Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
[bbe] Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
29:31 [hgb] 你 当 寄 信 给 一 切 被 掳 的 人 说 ， 耶 和 华 论 到 尼 希 兰 人 示 玛 雅 说 ， 因 为 示 玛 雅 向 你 们 说 预 言 ， 我 并 没 有 差 遣 他 ， 他 使 你 们 倚 靠 谎 言 。
[kjv] Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied16 unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:
[bbe] Send to all those who have been taken away, saying, This is what the Lord has said about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has been acting as a prophet to you, and I did not send him, and has made you put your faith in what is false;
29:32 [hgb] 所 以 耶 和 华 如 此 说 ， 我 必 刑 罚 尼 希 兰 人 示 玛 雅 和 他 的 后 裔 ， 他 必 无 一 人 存 留 住 在 这 民 中 ， 也 不 得 见 我 所 要 赐 与 我 百 姓 的 福 乐 ， 因 为 他 向 耶 和 华 说 了 叛 逆 的 话 。 这 是 耶 和 华 说 的 。
[kjv] Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.
[bbe] For this cause the Lord has said, Truly I will send punishment on Shemaiah and on his seed; not a man of his family will have a place among this people, and he will not see the good which I am going to do to my people, says the Lord: because he has said words against the Lord.
