Chapter 47

47:1 [hgb]  法 老 攻 击 迦 萨 之 先 ， 有 耶 和 华 论 非 利 士 人 的 话 临 到 先 知 耶 利 米 。  
    [kjv]  The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines¹, before that Pharaoh smote² Gaza.
    [bbe]  The word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah the prophet about the Philistines, before Pharaoh's attack on Gaza.
47:2 [hgb]  耶 和 华 如 此 说 ， 有 水 从 北 方 发 起 ， 成 为 涨 溢 的 河 ， 要 涨 过 遍 地 和 其 中 所 有 的 ， 并 城 和 其 中 所 住 的 。 人 必 呼 喊 。 境 内 的 居 民 都 必 哀 号 。  
    [kjv]  Thus saith the LORD; Behold³, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing⁵ flood, and shall overflow⁴ the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.
    [bbe]  This is what the Lord has said: See, waters are coming up out of the north, and will become an overflowing stream, overflowing the land and everything in it, the town and those who are living in it; and men will give a cry, and all the people of the land will be crying out in pain.
47:3 [hgb]  听 见 敌 人 壮 马 蹄 跳 的 响 声 和 战 车 隆 隆 ， 车 轮 轰 轰 。 为 父 的 手 就 发 软 ， 不 回 头 看 顾 儿 女 。  
    [kjv]  At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs⁶ of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling⁷ of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;
    [bbe]  At the noise of the stamping of the feet of his war-horses, at the rushing of his carriages and the thunder of his wheels, fathers will give no thought to their children, because their hands are feeble;
47:4 [hgb]  因 为 日 子 将 到 ， 要 毁 灭 一 切 非 利 士 人 ， 剪 除 帮 助 推 罗 ， 西 顿 所 剩 下 的 人 。 原 来 耶 和 华 必 毁 灭 非 利 士 人 ， 就 是 迦 斐 托 海 岛 余 剩 的 人 。  
    [kjv]  Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
    [bbe]  Because of the day which is coming with destruction on all the Philistines, cutting off from Tyre and Zidon the last of their helpers: for the Lord will send destruction on the Philistines, the rest of the sea-land of Caphtor.
47:5 [hgb]  迦 萨 成 了 光 秃 。 平 原 中 所 剩 的 亚 实 基 伦 归 于 无 有 。 你 用 刀 划 身 ， 要 到 几 时 呢 ？  
    [kjv]  Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt⁸ thou cut thyself?
    [bbe]  The hair is cut off from the head of Gaza; Ashkelon has come to nothing; the last of the Anakim are deeply wounding themselves.
47:6 [hgb]  耶 和 华 的 刀 剑 哪 ， 你 到 几 时 才 止 息 呢 ？ 你 要 入 鞘 ， 安 靖 不 动 。  
    [kjv]  O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
    [bbe]  O sword of the Lord, how long will you have no rest? put yourself back into your cover; be at peace, be quiet.
47:7 [hgb]  耶 和 华 既 吩 咐 你 攻 击 亚 实 基 伦 和 海 边 之 地 ， 他 已 经 派 定 你 ， 焉 能 止 息 呢 ？  
    [kjv]  How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
    [bbe]  How is it possible for it to be quiet, seeing that the Lord has given it orders? against Ashkelon and against the sea-land he has given it directions. 

1 philistines   

n.市侩，庸人( philistine的名词复数 )；庸夫俗子
