    [kjv]  Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
    [bbe]  For the rest, my brothers, be glad in the Lord. Writing the same things to you is no trouble to me, and for you it is safe.
    [kjv]  Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision1.
    [bbe]  Be on the watch against dogs, against the workers of evil, against those of the circumcision:
    [kjv]  For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
    [bbe]  For we are the circumcision, who give worship to God and have glory in Jesus Christ, and have no faith in the flesh:
    [kjv]  Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
    [bbe]  Even though I myself might have faith in the flesh: if any other man has reason to have faith in the flesh, I have more:
    [kjv]  Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching2 the law, a Pharisee;
    [bbe]  Being given circumcision on the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in relation to the law, a Pharisee:
    [kjv]  Concerning zeal3, persecuting4 the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
    [bbe]  In bitter hate I was cruel to the church; I kept all the righteousness of the law to the last detail.
    [kjv]  But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
    [bbe]  But those things which were profit to me, I gave up for Christ.
    [kjv]  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
    [bbe]  Yes truly, and I am ready to give up all things for the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, which is more than all: for whom I have undergone the loss of all things, and to me they are less than nothing, so that I may have Christ as my reward,
    [kjv]  And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
    [bbe]  And be seen in him, not having my righteousness which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
    [kjv]  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
    [bbe]  That I may have knowledge of him, and of the power of his coming back from the dead, and a part with him in his pains, becoming like him in his death;
    [kjv]  If by any means I might attain5 unto the resurrection of the dead.
    [bbe]  If in any way I may have the reward of life from the dead.
    [kjv]  Not as though I had already attained6, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend7 that for which also I am apprehended8 of Christ Jesus.
    [bbe]  Not as if I had even now got the reward or been made complete: but I go on in the hope that I may come to the knowledge of that for which I was made the servant of Christ Jesus.
    [kjv]  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth9 unto those things which are before,
    [bbe]  Brothers, it is clear to me that I have not come to that knowledge; but one thing I do, letting go those things which are past, and stretching out to the things which are before,
    [kjv]  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
    [bbe]  I go forward to the mark, even the reward of the high purpose of God in Christ Jesus.
    [kjv]  Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
    [bbe]  Then let us all, who have come to full growth, be of this mind: and if in anything you are of a different mind, even this will God make clear to you:
    [kjv]  Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
    [bbe]  Only, as far as we have got, let us be guided by the same rule.
    [kjv]  Brethren, be followers10 together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
    [bbe]  Brothers, take me as your example, and take note of those who are walking after the example we have given.
    [kjv]  (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
    [bbe]  For there are those, of whom I have given you word before, and do so now with sorrow, who are haters of the cross of Christ;
    [kjv]  Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly11, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
    [bbe]  Whose end is destruction, whose god is the stomach, and whose glory is in their shame, whose minds are fixed12 on the things of the earth.
    [kjv]  For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour13, the Lord Jesus Christ:
    [bbe]  For our country is in heaven; from where the Saviour for whom we are waiting will come, even the Lord Jesus Christ:
    [kjv]  Who shall change our vile14 body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue15 all things unto himself.
    [bbe]  By whom this poor body of ours will be changed into the image of the body of his glory, in the measure of the working by which he is able to put all things under himself.
