3:1 [hgb]  你 要 提 醒 众 人 , 叫 他 们 顺 服 作 官 的 , 掌 权 的 , 遵 他 的 命 , 预 备 行 各 样 的 善 事 。 
    [kjv]  Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates1, to be ready to every good work,
    [bbe]  Make clear to them that they are to put themselves under rulers and authorities, to do what they are ordered, to be ready for every good work,
3:2 [hgb]  不 要 毁 谤 , 不 要 争 竞 , 总 要 和 平 , 向 众 人 大 显 温 柔 。 
    [kjv]  To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness2 unto all men.
    [bbe]  To say no evil of any man, not to be fighters, to give way to others, to be gentle in behaviour to all men.
3:3 [hgb]  我 们 从 前 也 是 无 知 , 悖 逆 , 受 迷 惑 , 服 事 各 样 私 欲 和 宴 乐 , 常 存 恶 毒 ( 或 作 阴 毒 ) 嫉 妒 的 心 , 是 可 恨 的 , 又 是 彼 此 相 恨 。 
    [kjv]  For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers3 lusts4 and pleasures, living in malice5 and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
    [bbe]  For in the past we were foolish, hard in heart, turned from the true way, servants of evil desires and pleasures, living in bad feeling and envy, hated and hating one another.
3:4 [hgb]  但 到 了 神 我 们 救 主 的 恩 慈 , 和 他 向 人 所 施 的 慈 爱 显 明 的 时 候 , 
    [kjv]  But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour6 toward man appeared,
    [bbe]  But when the mercy of God our Saviour, and his love to man was seen,
3:5 [hgb]  他 便 救 了 我 们 , 并 不 是 因 我 们 自 己 所 行 的 义 , 乃 是 照 他 的 怜 悯 , 借 着 重 生 的 洗 , 和 圣 灵 的 更 新 。 
    [kjv]  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
    [bbe]  Not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but in the measure of his mercy, he gave us salvation7, through the washing of the new birth and the giving of new life in the Holy Spirit,
3:6 [hgb]  圣 灵 就 是 神 借 着 耶 稣 基 督 我 们 救 主 , 厚 厚 浇 灌 在 我 们 身 上 的 。 
    [kjv]  Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
    [bbe]  Which he gave us freely through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
3:7 [hgb]  好 叫 我 们 因 他 的 恩 得 称 为 义 , 可 以 凭 着 永 生 的 盼 望 成 为 后 嗣 。 ( 或 作 可 以 凭 着 盼 望 承 受 永 生 ) 。 
    [kjv]  That being justified8 by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
    [bbe]  So that, having been given righteousness through grace, we might have a part in the heritage, the hope of eternal life.
3:8 [hgb]  这 话 是 可 信 的 , 我 也 愿 你 把 这 些 事 , 切 切 实 实 的 讲 明 , 使 那 些 已 信 神 的 人 , 留 心 作 正 经 事 业 。 ( 或 作 留 心 行 善 ) 这 都 是 美 事 , 并 且 与 人 有 益 。 
    [kjv]  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
    [bbe]  This is a true saying; and it is my desire that you may give certain witness about these things, so that those who have had faith in God may give attention to good works. These things are good and of profit to men;
3:9 [hgb]  要 远 避 无 知 的 辩 论 , 和 家 谱 的 空 谈 , 以 及 分 争 , 并 因 律 法 而 起 的 争 竞 。 因 为 这 都 是 虚 妄 无 益 的 。 
    [kjv]  But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies9, and contentions10, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
    [bbe]  But have nothing to do with foolish questionings, and lists of generations, and fights and arguments about the law; for they are of no profit and foolish.
3:10 [hgb]  分 门 结 党 的 人 , 警 戒 过 一 两 次 , 就 要 弃 绝 他 。 
    [kjv]  A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
    [bbe]  A man whose opinions are not those of the church, after a first and second protest, is to be kept out of your society;
3:11 [hgb]  因 为 知 道 这 等 人 已 经 背 道 , 犯 了 罪 , 自 己 明 知 不 是 , 还 是 去 作 。 
    [kjv]  Knowing that he that is such is subverted11, and sinneth, being condemned12 of himself.
    [bbe]  Clearly he is in error and a sinner, being self-judged.
3:12 [hgb]  我 打 发 亚 提 马 , 或 是 推 基 古 , 到 你 那 里 去 的 时 候 , 你 要 赶 紧 往 尼 哥 波 立 去 见 我 。 因 为 我 已 经 定 意 在 那 里 过 冬 。 
    [kjv]  When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent13 to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined14 there to winter.
    [bbe]  When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis: for it is my purpose to be there for the winter.
3:13 [hgb]  你 要 赶 紧 给 律 师 西 纳 , 和 亚 波 罗 送 行 , 叫 他 们 没 有 缺 乏 。 
    [kjv]  Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently15, that nothing be wanting unto them.
    [bbe]  Send Zenas, the man of law, and Apollos on their journey with all care, so that they may be in need of nothing.
3:14 [hgb]  并 且 我 们 的 人 要 学 习 正 经 事 业 , ( 或 作 要 学 习 行 善 ) 预 备 所 需 用 的 , 免 得 不 结 果 子 。 
    [kjv]  And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
    [bbe]  And let our people go on with good works for necessary purposes, so that they may not be without fruit.
3:15 [hgb]  同 我 在 一 处 的 人 都 问 你 安 。 请 代 问 那 些 因 有 信 心 爱 我 们 的 人 安 。 愿 恩 惠 常 与 你 们 众 人 同 在 。 
    [kjv]  All that are with me salute16 thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
    [bbe]  All who are with me send you their love. Give our love to our friends in the faith. Grace be with you all.
