20:1 [hgb]  此 后 , 摩 押 人 和 亚 扪 人 , 又 有 米 乌 尼 人 , 一 同 来 攻 击 约 沙 法 。
    [kjv]  It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
    [bbe]  Now after this, the children of Moab and the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Meunim, made war against Jehoshaphat.
20:2 [hgb]  有 人 来 报 告 约 沙 法 说 , 从 海 外 亚 兰 ( 亚 兰 又 作 以 东 ) 那 边 有 大 军 来 攻 击 你 , 如 今 他 们 在 哈 洗 逊 他 玛 , 就 是 隐 基 底 。
    [kjv]  Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold1, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
    [bbe]  And they came to Jehoshaphat with the news, saying, A great army is moving against you from Edom across the sea; and now they are in Hazazon-tamar (which is En-gedi).
20:3 [hgb]  约 沙 法 便 惧 怕 , 定 意 寻 求 耶 和 华 , 在 犹 大 全 地 宣 告 禁 食 。
    [kjv]  And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
    [bbe]  Then Jehoshaphat, in his fear, went to the Lord for directions, and gave orders all through Judah for the people to go without food.
20:4 [hgb]  于 是 犹 大 人 聚 会 , 求 耶 和 华 帮 助 。 犹 大 各 城 都 有 人 出 来 寻 求 耶 和 华 。
    [kjv]  And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
    [bbe]  And Judah came together to make prayer for help from the Lord; from every town of Judah they came to give worship to the Lord.
20:5 [hgb]  约 沙 法 就 在 犹 大 和 耶 路 撒 冷 的 会 中 , 站 在 耶 和 华 殿 的 新 院 前 ,
    [kjv]  And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
    [bbe]  And Jehoshaphat took his place in the meeting of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord in front of the new open space,
20:6 [hgb]  说 , 耶 和 华 我 们 列 祖 的 神 阿 , 你 不 是 天 上 的 神 吗 ? 你 不 是 万 邦 万 国 的 主 宰 吗 ? 在 你 手 中 有 大 能 大 力 , 无 人 能 抵 挡 你 。
    [kjv]  And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
    [bbe]  And said, O Lord, the God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? are you not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in your hands are power and strength so that no one is able to keep his place against you.
20:7 [hgb]  我 们 的 神 阿 , 你 不 是 曾 在 你 民 以 色 列 人 面 前 驱 逐 这 地 的 居 民 , 将 这 地 赐 给 你 朋 友 亚 伯 拉 罕 的 后 裔 永 远 为 业 吗 ?
    [kjv]  Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
    [bbe]  Did you not, O Lord our God, after driving out the people of this land before your people Israel, give it to the seed of Abraham, your friend, for ever?
20:8 [hgb]  他 们 住 在 这 地 , 又 为 你 的 名 建 造 圣 所 , 说 ,
    [kjv]  And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary2 therein for thy name, saying,
    [bbe]  And they made it their living-place, building there a holy house for your name, and saying,
20:9 [hgb]  倘 有 祸 患 临 到 我 们 , 或 刀 兵 灾 殃 , 或 瘟 疫 饥 荒 , 我 们 在 急 难 的 时 候 , 站 在 这 殿 前 向 你 呼 求 , 你 必 垂 听 而 拯 救 , 因 为 你 的 名 在 这 殿 里 。
    [kjv]  If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment3, or pestilence4, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt5 hear and help.
    [bbe]  If evil comes on us, the sword, or punishment, or disease, or need of food, we will come to this house and to you, (for your name is in this house,) crying to you in our trouble, and you will give us salvation6 in answer to our cry.
20:10 [hgb]  从 前 以 色 列 人 出 埃 及 地 的 时 候 , 你 不 容 以 色 列 人 侵 犯 亚 扪 人 , 摩 押 人 , 和 西 珥 山 人 , 以 色 列 人 就 离 开 他 们 , 不 灭 绝 他 们 。
    [kjv]  And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
    [bbe]  And now, see, the children of Ammon and Moab and the people of Mount Seir, whom you kept Israel from attacking when they came out of Egypt, so that turning to one side they did not send destruction on them:
20:11 [hgb]  看 哪 , 他 们 怎 样 报 复 我 们 , 要 来 驱 逐 我 们 出 离 你 的 地 , 就 是 你 赐 给 我 们 为 业 之 地 。
    [kjv]  Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
    [bbe]  See now, how as our reward they have come to send us out of your land which you have given us as our heritage.
20:12 [hgb]  我 们 的 神 阿 , 你 不 惩 罚 他 们 吗 ? 因 为 我 们 无 力 抵 挡 这 来 攻 击 我 们 的 大 军 , 我 们 也 不 知 道 怎 样 行 , 我 们 的 眼 目 单 仰 望 你 。
    [kjv]  O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
    [bbe]  O our God, will you not be their judge? for our strength is not equal to this great army which is coming against us; and we are at a loss what to do: but our eyes are on you.
20:13 [hgb]  犹 大 众 人 和 他 们 的 婴 孩 , 妻 子 , 儿 女 都 站 在 耶 和 华 面 前 。
    [kjv]  And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
    [bbe]  And all Judah were waiting before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
20:14 [hgb]  那 时 , 耶 和 华 的 灵 在 会 中 临 到 利 未 人 亚 萨 的 后 裔 玛 探 雅 的 玄 孙 , 耶 利 的 曾 孙 , 比 拿 雅 的 孙 子 , 撒 迦 利 雅 的 儿 子 雅 哈 悉 。
    [kjv]  Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
    [bbe]  Then, before all the meeting, the spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel, the son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite and one of the family of Asaph;
20:15 [hgb]  他 说 , 犹 大 众 人 , 耶 路 撒 冷 的 居 民 , 和 约 沙 法 王 , 你 们 请 听 。 耶 和 华 对 你 们 如 此 说 , 不 要 因 这 大 军 恐 惧 惊 惶 。 因 为 胜 败 不 在 乎 你 们 , 乃 在 乎 神 。
    [kjv]  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
    [bbe]  And he said, Give ear, O Judah, and you people of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat: the Lord says to you, Have no fear and do not be troubled on account of this great army; for the fight is not yours but God's.
20:16 [hgb]  明 日 你 们 要 下 去 迎 敌 , 他 们 是 从 洗 斯 坡 上 来 , 你 们 必 在 耶 鲁 伊 勒 旷 野 前 的 谷 口 遇 见 他 们 。
    [kjv]  To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook7, before the wilderness8 of Jeruel.
    [bbe]  Go down against them tomorrow: see, they are coming up by the slope of Ziz; at the end of the valley, before the waste land of Jeruel, you will come face to face with them.
20:17 [hgb]  犹 大 和 耶 路 撒 冷 人 哪 , 这 次 你 们 不 要 争 战 , 要 摆 阵 站 着 , 看 耶 和 华 为 你 们 施 行 拯 救 。 不 要 恐 惧 , 也 不 要 惊 惶 。 明 日 当 出 去 迎 敌 , 因 为 耶 和 华 与 你 们 同 在 。
    [kjv]  Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
    [bbe]  There will be no need for you to take up arms in this fight; put yourselves in position, and keep where you are, and you will see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: have no fear and do not be troubled: go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you.
20:18 [hgb]  约 沙 法 就 面 伏 于 地 , 犹 大 众 人 和 耶 路 撒 冷 的 居 民 也 俯 伏 在 耶 和 华 面 前 , 叩 拜 耶 和 华 。
    [kjv]  And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
    [bbe]  Then Jehoshaphat went down with his face to the earth, and all Judah and the people of Jerusalem gave worship to the Lord, falling down before him.
20:19 [hgb]  哥 辖 族 和 可 拉 族 的 利 未 人 都 起 来 , 用 极 大 的 声 音 赞 美 耶 和 华 以 色 列 的 神 。
    [kjv]  And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
    [bbe]  And the Levites, the children of the Kohathites and the Korahites, got to their feet and gave praise to the Lord, the God of Israel, with a loud voice.
20:20 [hgb]  次 日 清 早 , 众 人 起 来 往 提 哥 亚 的 旷 野 去 。 出 去 的 时 候 , 约 沙 法 站 着 说 , 犹 大 人 和 耶 路 撒 冷 的 居 民 哪 , 要 听 我 说 , 信 耶 和 华 你 们 的 神 就 必 立 稳 。 信 他 的 先 知 就 必 亨 通 。
    [kjv]  And they rose early in the morning, and went forth9 into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper10.
    [bbe]  And early in the morning they got up and went out to the waste land of Tekoa: and when they were going out, Jehoshaphat took his station and said to them, Give ear to me, O Judah and you people of Jerusalem: have faith in the Lord your God and you will be safe; have faith in his prophets and all will go well for you.
20:21 [hgb]  约 沙 法 既 与 民 商 议 了 , 就 设 立 歌 唱 的 人 , 颂 赞 耶 和 华 , 使 他 们 穿 上 圣 洁 的 礼 服 , 走 在 军 前 赞 美 耶 和 华 说 , 当 称 谢 耶 和 华 , 因 他 的 慈 爱 永 远 长 存 。
    [kjv]  And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
    [bbe]  And after discussion with the people, he put in their places those who were to make melody to the Lord, praising him in holy robes, while they went at the head of the army, and saying, May the Lord be praised, for his mercy is unchanging for ever.
20:22 [hgb]  众 人 方 唱 歌 赞 美 的 时 候 , 耶 和 华 就 派 伏 兵 击 杀 那 来 攻 击 犹 大 人 的 亚 扪 人 , 摩 押 人 , 和 西 珥 山 人 , 他 们 就 被 打 败 了 。
    [kjv]  And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten11.
    [bbe]  And at the first notes of song and praise the Lord sent a surprise attack against the children of Ammon and Moab and the people of Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were overcome.
20:23 [hgb]  因 为 亚 扪 人 和 摩 押 人 起 来 , 击 杀 住 西 珥 山 的 人 , 将 他 们 灭 尽 。 灭 尽 住 西 珥 山 的 人 之 后 , 他 们 又 彼 此 自 相 击 杀 。
    [kjv]  For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly12 to slay13 and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
    [bbe]  And the children of Ammon and Moab made an attack on the people of Mount Seir with a view to their complete destruction; and when they had put an end to the people of Seir, everyman's hand was turned against his neighbour for his destruction.
20:24 [hgb]  犹 大 人 来 到 旷 野 的 望 楼 , 向 那 大 军 观 看 , 见 尸 横 遍 地 , 没 有 一 个 逃 脱 的 。
    [kjv]  And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
    [bbe]  And Judah came to the watchtower of the waste land, and looking in the direction of the army, they saw only dead bodies stretched on the earth; no living man was to be seen.
20:25 [hgb]  约 沙 法 和 他 的 百 姓 就 来 收 取 敌 人 的 财 物 , 在 尸 首 中 见 了 许 多 财 物 , 珍 宝 , 他 们 剥 脱 下 来 的 多 得 不 可 携 带 。 因 为 甚 多 , 直 收 取 了 三 日 。
    [kjv]  And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering14 of the spoil, it was so much.
    [bbe]  And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their goods from them, they saw beasts in great numbers, and wealth and clothing and things of value, more than they were able to take away; all this they took for themselves, and they were three days getting it away, there was so much.
20:26 [hgb]  第 四 日 众 人 聚 集 在 比 拉 迦 ( 就 是 称 颂 的 意 思 ) 谷 , 在 那 里 称 颂 耶 和 华 。 因 此 那 地 方 名 叫 比 拉 迦 谷 , 直 到 今 日 。
    [kjv]  And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.
    [bbe]  On the fourth day they all came together in the Valley of Blessing15, and there they gave blessing to the Lord; for which cause that place has been named the Valley of Blessing to this day.
20:27 [hgb]  犹 大 人 和 耶 路 撒 冷 人 都 欢 欢 喜 喜 地 回 耶 路 撒 冷 , 约 沙 法 率 领 他 们 。 因 为 耶 和 华 使 他 们 战 胜 仇 敌 , 就 欢 喜 快 乐 。
    [kjv]  Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
    [bbe]  Then all the men of Judah and Jerusalem went back, with Jehoshaphat at their head, coming back to Jerusalem with joy; for the Lord had made them glad over their haters.
20:28 [hgb]  他 们 弹 琴 , 鼓 瑟 , 吹 号 来 到 耶 路 撒 冷 , 进 了 耶 和 华 的 殿 。
    [kjv]  And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps16 and trumpets17 unto the house of the LORD.
    [bbe]  So they came to Jerusalem with corded instruments and wind-instruments into the house of the Lord.
20:29 [hgb]  列 邦 诸 国 听 见 耶 和 华 战 败 以 色 列 的 仇 敌 , 就 甚 惧 怕 。
    [kjv]  And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
    [bbe]  And the fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the lands, when they had news of how the Lord made war on those who came against Israel.

    [kjv]  So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
    [bbe]  So the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for the Lord gave him rest on every side.

    [bbe]  And Jehoshaphat was king over Judah: he was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he was ruling for twenty-five years in Jerusalem: his mother's name was Azubah, the daughter of Shilhi.

    [kjv]  Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.
    [bbe]  The high places, however, were not taken away, and the hearts of the people were still not true to the God of their fathers.
20:34 [hgb]  约 沙 法 其 余 的 事 , 自 始 至 终 都 写 在 哈 拿 尼 的 儿 子 耶 户 的 书 上 , 也 载 入 以 色 列 诸 王 记 上 。
    [kjv]  Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who is mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.
    [bbe]  Now as for the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, they are recorded in the words of Jehu, the son of Hanani, which were put in the book of the kings of Israel.
20:35 [hgb]  此 后 , 犹 大 王 约 沙 法 与 以 色 列 王 亚 哈 谢 交 好 。 亚 哈 谢 行 恶 太 甚 。

20:37 [hgb]  那 时 玛 利 沙 人 , 多 大 瓦 的 儿 子 以 利 以 谢 向 约 沙 法 预 言 说 , 因 你 与 亚 哈 谢 交 好 , 耶 和 华 必 破 坏 你 所 造 的 。 后 来 那 船 果 然 破 坏 , 不 能 往 他 施 去 了 。
    [kjv]  Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied20 against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
    [bbe]  Then the word of Eliezer the prophet, the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah, came against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you have let yourself be joined with Ahaziah, the Lord has sent destruction on your works. And the ships were broken and were not able to go to Tarshish.
