[kjv] There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
[bbe] And this was the part marked out for the tribe of Manasseh, because he was the oldest son of Joseph. As for Machir, the oldest son of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war he had Gilead and Bashan.
17:2 [hgb] 玛 拿 西 其 余 的 子 孙 ， 按 着 宗 族 拈 阄 分 地 ， 就 是 亚 比 以 谢 子 孙 ， 希 勒 子 孙 ， 亚 斯 列 子 孙 ， 示 剑 子 孙 ， 希 弗 子 孙 ， 示 米 大 子 孙 。 这 些 按 着 宗 族 ， 都 是 约 瑟 儿 子 玛 拿 西 子 孙 的 男 丁 。
[kjv] There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.
[bbe] And as for the rest of the children of Manasseh, their heritage was given to them by families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, by their families.

Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
[bbe] And they came before Eleazar the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and before the chiefs, saying, The Lord gave orders to Moses to give us a heritage among our brothers: so in agreement with the orders of the Lord he gave them a heritage among their father's brothers.
17:5 [hgb] 除 了 约 旦 河 东 的 基 列 和 巴 珊 地 之 外 ， 还 有 十 分 地 归 玛 拿 西 ，
[kjv] And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;
[bbe] And ten parts were given to Manasseh, in addition to the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is on the other side of Jordan;
17:6 [hgb] 因 为 玛 拿 西 的 孙 女 们 在 玛 拿 西 的 孙 子 中 得 了 产 业 。 基 列 地 是 属 玛 拿 西 其 余 的 子 孙 。
[kjv] Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.
[bbe] Because the daughters of Manasseh had a heritage among his sons, and the land of Gilead was the property of the other sons of Manasseh.
17:7 [hgb] 玛 拿 西 的 境 界 ， 从 亚 设 起 ， 到 示 剑 前 的 密 米 他 ， 往 北 到 隐 他 普 亚 居 民 之 地 。
[kjv] And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of Entappuah.
[bbe] And the limit of Manasseh's land was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem; the line goes on to the right hand, to the people of En-tappuah.
17:8 [hgb] 他 普 亚 地 归 玛 拿 西 ， 只 是 玛 拿 西 境 界 上 的 他 普 亚 城 归 以 法 莲 子 孙 。
[kjv] Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;
[bbe] The land of Tappuah was the property of Manasseh; but Tappuah on the edge of Manasseh was the property of the children of Ephraim.
17:9 [hgb] 其 界 下 到 加 拿 河 的 南 边 。 在 玛 拿 西 城 邑 中 的 这 些 城 邑 都 归 以 法 莲 。 玛 拿 西 的 地 界 是 在 河 北 直 通 到 海 为 止 。
[kjv] And the coast descended2 unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
[bbe] And the limit goes down to the stream Kanah, to the south of the stream: these towns were Ephraim's among the towns of Manasseh; Manasseh's limit was on the north side of the stream, ending at the sea:
17:10 [hgb] 南 归 以 法 莲 ， 北 归 玛 拿 西 ， 以 海 为 界 。 北 边 到 亚 设 ， 东 边 到 以 萨 迦 。
[kjv] Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward3 it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.
[bbe] To the south it is Ephraim's, and to the north it is Manasseh's, and the sea is his limit; and they are touching4 Asher on the north, and Issachar on the east.

[kjv] And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
[bbe] In Issachar and Asher, Manasseh had Beth-shean and its daughter-towns, and Ibleam and its daughter-towns, and the people of Dor and its daughter-towns, and the people of En-dor and its daughter-towns, and the people of Taanach and its daughter-towns, and the people of Megiddo and its daughter-towns, that is, the three hills.
17:12 [hgb] 只 是 玛 拿 西 子 孙 不 能 赶 出 这 些 城 的 居 民 ， 迦 南 人 偏 要 住 在 那 地 。
[kjv] Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
[bbe] But the children of Manasseh were not able to make the people of those towns go out; but the Canaanites would go on living in that land.
17:13 [hgb] 及 至 以 色 列 人 强 盛 了 ， 就 使 迦 南 人 作 苦 工 ， 没 有 把 他 们 全 然 赶 出 。
[kjv] Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not utterly5 drive them out.
[bbe] And when the children of Israel had become strong, they put the Canaanites to forced work, in place of driving them out.
17:14 [hgb] 约 瑟 的 子 孙 对 约 书 亚 说 ， 耶 和 华 到 如 今 既 然 赐 福 与 我 们 ， 我 们 也 族 大 人 多 ， 你 为 什 么 仅 将 一 阄 一 段 之 地 分 给 我 们 为 业 呢 ？
[kjv] And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?
[bbe] Then the children of Joseph said to Joshua, Why have you given me only one part and one stretch of land for my heritage? For through the blessing6 given to me by the Lord up to now, I am a great people.
17:15 [hgb] 约 书 亚 说 ， 你 们 如 果 族 大 人 多 ， 嫌 以 法 莲 山 地 窄 小 ， 就 可 以 上 比 利 洗 人 ， 利 乏 音 人 之 地 ， 在 树 林 中 砍 伐 树 木 。
[kjv] And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
[bbe] Then Joshua said to them, If you are such a great people, go up into the woodlands, clearing a place there for yourselves in the land of the Perizzites and the Rephaim, if the hill-country of Ephraim is not wide enough for you.
17:16 [hgb] 约 瑟 的 子 孙 说 ， 那 山 地 容 不 下 我 们 ， 并 且 住 平 原 的 迦 南 人 ， 就 是 住 伯 善 和 属 伯 善 的 镇 市 ， 并 住 耶 斯 列 平 原 的 人 ， 都 有 铁 车 。
[kjv] And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
[bbe] And the children of Joseph said, The hill-country is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites living in the valley have iron war-carriages, those in Beth-shean and its towns as well as those in the valley of Jezreel.
17:17 [hgb] 约 书 亚 对 约 瑟 家 ， 就 是 以 法 莲 和 玛 拿 西 人 ， 说 ， 你 是 族 大 人 多 ， 并 且 强 盛 ， 不 可 仅 有 一 阄 之 地 ，
[kjv] And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
[bbe] Then Joshua said to the children of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, You are a great people, and have great power: you are not to have one property only,
17:18 [hgb] 山 地 也 要 归 你 ， 虽 是 树 林 ， 你 也 可 以 砍 伐 。 靠 近 之 地 必 归 你 。 迦 南 人 虽 有 铁 车 ， 虽 是 强 盛 ， 你 也 能 把 他 们 赶 出 去 。
[kjv] But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.
[bbe] For the hill-country of Gilead will be yours ... the woodland and cut down ... its outskirts7 will be yours ... get the Canaanites out, for they have iron war-carriages ... strong.
